00:01I'm here with St Blasey boss Dan Hart following today's goalless draw at Sidmouth.
00:06A remarkable game with chances at both ends, sin binnings, red cards. What did you make of it?
00:12Mental really. I think I would love to pretend to be more satisfied with that and an away point.
00:17But again, I don't think it's in my nature. And for a game that threw up so many different challenges,
00:25all of our own doing, I think we can be hugely disappointed.
00:30We can point to the amount of times that we've got in and around the box and hit the woodwork,
00:35which is unprecedented since I've been involved in management, but it's not enough.
00:40And I feel that certainly if we kept 11 players on the pitch for the entirety of that match,
00:45we'd have come away with three points, not one.
00:48Yeah, so massively disappointed. Very different circumstances to the midweek draw.
00:52And it's something that we need to learn and respond to.
00:55In the first half, in defence, you guys really struggled with the set pieces.
00:59But at the other end, you also created chances of your own.
01:02What was sort of the chat at half-time?
01:04Yeah, we picked a less physical team today.
01:07We really looked to get on the ball and hurt them in and around the midfield pocket.
01:11And I didn't feel that we stamped our authority on that part of the game in the first half.
01:14And you're right that they're really dangerous from set plays, long throws from all angles
01:18and some really good attackers of the ball that we struggled to deal with.
01:21We got away with that.
01:23Half-time was a lively one.
01:25We needed to put some attitudes right and to obviously deal with an ongoing simbing
01:29for the second time in four days as well.
01:31So it's not easy.
01:31You've got to think on your feet and coach your way out of it,
01:36despite being sort of angry and wanting to tear the walls down.
01:39You've got to focus on the tactical element of the game as well, because it was a pretty precarious time
01:44in the game at half-time.
01:45And we obviously got punished in midweek when we all won the lap.
01:48But with a simbing as well.
01:50So I'm pleased enough with how we responded from a defensive point of view in the second half.
01:54I thought that we kept them at bay with obviously 11, 10 and then nine men with pretty, you know,
02:01with a lot more determination and a lot more quality in our dual winning.
02:05And yeah, we were obviously far more dangerous in possession.
02:09Like I said, I don't think I've ever seen the ball hit the woodwork that many times.
02:12And yeah, on a positive day, I'd be saying to you, if you can't win it, don't lose it.
02:17But it doesn't quite feel like one of those positive days for me today.
02:20It feels like one that we should have dealt with and one that we've sort of let ourselves down as
02:25a team from a discipline point of view.
02:27And yeah, like I said, we've got to learn from that.
02:29And it's a long, old season. It's a very new group.
02:33And we're in a decent position, but we need to learn our lessons fast and put our learning into place
02:38because we've got the games that come any easier.
02:42It's always a tough spell in a really difficult league.
02:44So you can't afford to have too many days like this.
02:46And certainly you need to keep 11 players on the pitch to be successful as well.
02:49So we're going to have to, we're going to have to sharpen up from that perspective for sure.
02:54And next Saturday, it doesn't get any easy.
02:56You've got a nice home date with Bridgewater, who are top of the league, all going well anyway.
03:01How do you go about preparing for that one?
03:04The same way that we always do.
03:05We're focused on the next game as of now.
03:07For me, it's about taking the learning from today, which is plenty from an individual point of view and as
03:12a team.
03:12And then we'll put our game plan together for Bridgewater.
03:14We know exactly what they're all about.
03:17You know, team of men, hugely physical, some fantastic forward players.
03:22And we'll have to be a million times better to replicate some of the great results we've already had this
03:29season.
03:29So, you know, there's no pulling the wool over my eyes with that one.
03:33But yeah, we'll get back to the drawing board a little bit.
03:35And yeah, we'll do what we need to do to make sure we're competitive next Saturday for sure.
03:40And what sort of game are you expecting against them?
03:43Like every game in this league, I'm expecting my team to be well structured.
03:47And now Piersy's gone back into Bridgewater.
03:49I'm expecting the team of individuals with structure rather than a team of individuals.
03:53So it will be a tough game.
03:55I fancy Bridgewater right up at the top end of this league this year.
03:58So we will, like I said, have to be extremely, extremely improved.
04:04And yeah, I'm expecting a really good advert for the league as usual when we step out there.
04:09And, you know, even despite today being a 0-0, it was a good advert, I'm sure, for a neutral.
04:13Maybe not for me at all.
04:15So, yeah, we'll look to entertain, but we've got to be more robust and we've got to be more disciplined
04:19to stand a chance on Saturday at home.
