00:00We're here with Holdsman v boss Kevin Squire following today's Boxing Day defeat at Bewtown.

00:08Kevin what are your thoughts?

00:10Yeah it was not the prettiest of games I thought, two pretty average teams there.

00:17We probably over the 90 minutes created a couple of quite good opportunities

00:23whereas everything else was a little bit scrappy, the keepers weren't really calling to action at all.

00:30The two chances we created didn't even hit the target so don't expect to get any positivity from that.

00:38And the last couple of minutes their kids hit an absolute wonder goal in the top corner

00:44and it was one of those games, fair play, I can't say the better team won

00:50but then I can't say we were unlucky to lose, we were poor.

00:55Whether that is application, whether that is a good day yesterday, whatever.

00:59But that's what Boxing Day games are like, we've been involved in many good games and bad games.

01:04You feel good some days, you feel bad some days, today we didn't perform very well

01:09and it's a bit disappointing for me and the boys.

01:12We've got to move on, it is what it is.

01:15Yeah, overall feelings are a lot of disappointing.

01:20We really got a piece of chances in the first half, like you say, which didn't take.

01:24How key were they? And obviously trying to have time.

01:27Bad games over the second half?

01:30Yeah, I mean, when we turned up and I don't think there was much weather in the world.

01:36I thought the conditions weren't bad, but as we were playing, it did seem to be kind of one out.

01:42So we were against them in first half, but again, I thought we did alright.

01:47I wasn't very happy with how we played.

01:50Pattern was still not very good.

01:52Movements were still not very good.

01:54I can see a couple of people struggling with illness,

01:57so we were going to pull out.

01:59The main man, the captain, a few other players, a few other key players.

02:02But that's the same for every team all over the country on a day like today.

02:06It was a bit under the weather and cold.

02:09But, yeah, I just wanted a little bit more, you know?

02:13I wanted a little bit more. I wanted to put pressure on there.

02:16We didn't do that. We had a chat at half-time.

02:18We kept things the same.

02:20I had to give people a little bit of confidence.

02:22And it didn't really change things.

02:24So I had to make some changes.

02:26Again, half the pass.

02:28It's just our agreement. It's just a disappointing day for us.

02:32One positive was the performance of Mark Cortn at Left Wing Black.

02:35He lives in America at the moment.

02:37But how pleased are you with his performance?

02:39Yeah, Will was a bit disappointed to be left out.

02:42But I played Mark.

02:43Mark's available.

02:44He's a very big asset.

02:46His energy and his enthusiasm.

02:48You can see that I've known him a little while.

02:50He's a great lad.

02:52So he's back in town for a month.

02:54So I thought we'd use him.

02:56His energy was infectious.

02:59He was very good.

03:00Unfortunately, he didn't have the end quality today.

03:03Which I know he has got.

03:05But yeah, he's a good lad to have.

03:07He just didn't work out today.

03:09And you're back in action next Saturday with a trip to Sunday.

03:12How do you go about trying to bounce back as quickly as possible?

03:14Well, that's the thing.

03:15We play.

03:16We prepare.

03:17We do what we were doing at the beginning of the season when we were 12, 13 games.

03:22Things haven't really changed.

03:24The squad hasn't really changed too much.

03:26Unfortunately, the conditions have changed.

03:28And that seems to have changed a lot.

03:30But we'll keep working.

03:32I'll dissect this a little bit more and see where I've gone wrong.

03:36And yeah, we'll have a game plan for next week.

03:40I've never been down there before.

03:42So, look forward to New Year at St. Day.

03:44What sort of game are you expecting against them?

03:46I think they've beaten Penta out today as well.

03:50Yeah, no disrespect to anybody in this league.

03:54But your Liscardes and your Albertons, they are probably a different level.

03:58Probably a wrestling calibre.

04:00Everybody else, it's the same kind of game.

04:02If you turn up, you apply yourself right, you win your duels, and you work hard, you're likely to get good results.

04:08If you don't do any of that, each team can beat each other.

04:12And I think St. Day are a bit similar to us.

04:14A bit similar to Bude.

04:15A bit similar to González.

04:16A bit similar to all of those.

04:18The league is what it is.

04:20We haven't done very well in that competitive environment the last few games.

04:28But we'll move on to next week.

04:30And yeah, let's see how we get on.
