00:00We have Ohio State taking on Washington.
00:06Last year, the Buckeyes had one of those time zone games that was at Oregon, and they lost.
00:11Obviously, Oregon was a team that went undefeated.
00:15What's your take on Ohio State at Washington?
00:20Really interesting game.
00:22Another game that saw a lot of line movement.
00:24This was about 14, 13 and a half all offseason.
00:28Didn't move.
00:30Last Friday, you could have still gotten 13 and a half with the Huskies.
00:34Then it opened at 10 and immediately went to 8, 8 and a half.
00:38Well, a lot to break down with this one.
00:40First, my number with pick six plus, I have Washington plus nine.
00:44So kind of the markets did move our direction.
00:47Now it's past that now.
00:49I think it's around 7 and a half or 8.
00:51So this enters some historic categories, too, where you have the number one team facing an unranked team
00:57and being a single-digit favorite, only single digits.
00:59Usually, they're double-digit plus, obviously.
01:01You've got to go all the way back to 2012, USC, when USC came in number one.
01:05I think that was Elaine Kiffin head coach year, and they collapsed that season.
01:10But very rare error to be a number one team against an unranked single-digit number.
01:15So keep that in mind.
01:16But, yeah, it's strength on strength when Washington has the ball.
01:19I love this Washington offense.
01:21DeMond Williams, he looks like a Kyler Murray-type quarterback, a little smaller but very shifty.
01:26He can make every throw.
01:27Jonah Coleman at running back is a power back and went for 1,000-plus last year.
01:32This Washington offense, I don't care who they played.
01:34It's hard to do.
01:35They've scored 22 straight drives.
01:3722 straight drives have ended in scores.
01:40That streak is now heading into Saturday against the number one defense in the country, per my numbers, Ohio State.
01:45You saw what they did to Texas.
01:47It's just, you know, every year it's like a conveyor belt of NFL players.
01:51So, yeah, strength on strength on that side of the ball.
01:54We're going to learn a lot about Julian Scion also, his first big road test.
01:58I've been out to Husky Stadium.
01:59It gets really loud, even though it's not 100K-plus fans or anything.
02:04But it gets loud.
02:05They trap that noise in with their ceilings.
02:07So, yeah, it's going to be a tough environment.
02:10And I would not be surprised to see this, a one-score game late in the game.
02:13I think Ohio State will win it, but close.
02:14Yeah, the Huskies, I believe, is it 22 in a row they've won at home?
02:20Yes, they're actually the second longest streak in the country.
02:23In fact, the number one streak is being tested as well over in the SEC.
02:27It's Georgia.
02:28They're hosting Alabama.
02:29So, yeah, the nation's two longest active home win streaks, both on the line against top-notch teams.
02:34Yeah, I mean, that's a credit to Washington's home field advantage.
02:37Yeah, and last year, they were part of your trend as well, covering against both Michigan and Northwestern in Husky Stadium.
02:48So, sounds like you're definitely giving them a chance this Saturday.
02:52How big is it for them?
02:53We spoke about the Illinois injuries.
02:55They have some injuries as well.
02:57It looks like their linebacker is definitely out.
02:59I know they're hoping to get Parker, one of their better defensive linemen.
03:03And I think the biggest key might be Takario Davis, one of their corners.
03:09Not just Jet Fish, but, you know, their D.C., their coordinator, loves those big corners, physical guys he can put on an island.
03:16And I thought Takario Davis was one of the most underrated guys in the portal at SportsGrid.
03:22We had him as a top-10 portal addition in the offseason, along with Priceock.
03:28They have two of those guys.
03:30So, how big is it for them to have, you know, at full strength, at least, obviously, the linebackers out, but if they can get Davis and Parker back?
03:37I mean, Jet Fish, he did a nice job taking all his best Arizona players with him.
03:41I mean, those guys are both from Arizona, all big 10 performers, or all big 12 performers, sorry.
03:46Yeah, great portal ads.
03:47And that's going to hurt if they're down a couple defenders, especially on the outsides, because, you know, they're going against the best receiving core in the country.
03:54Jeremiah Smith, everyone talked about him as being a first-rounder as a freshman.
03:58And then if you want to double-team him, you've got to pick your poison, because they have other five stars ready to break out.
04:04So, yeah, that's really going to hurt if they don't have Davis.
04:07It's just, you know, it's going to expose their secondary to NFL receivers, you know.
04:11So, that's going to hurt.
04:12And then also Max Clare over the middle, the transfer from Purdue at tight end for them.
04:16So, that's a mismatch, too.
04:18Yeah, so they just, it's an arsenal of playmakers.
04:22So, you want to be at full strength.
04:23That'll hurt without it.
04:24But, yeah, I wish we would have caught it earlier.
04:26I mean, I wish the listeners could have caught that 13-and-a-half.
04:29I mean, that's crazy looking back how much it's shifted.
04:32But you definitely would take two touchdowns, Washington at home.
04:35Yeah, I mean, I wish I caught the 13-and-a-half.
04:39Me, too.
04:40I shouldn't have waited.
04:41One more thing here.
04:43DeMond Williams, you sound like you're a big fan.
04:44And I love this kid.
04:47I really hope he balls out on Saturday, regardless of the outcome of the game.
04:51I'm excited for people to see him for the first time that haven't watched Washington.
04:56You know, they haven't played the most elitist of schedules so far.
04:59Could he be the best QB in the Big Ten?
05:02Yeah, I tweeted out, you know, me and you are on the East Coast.
05:05So, these games are always at, like, 1 a.m. for us.
05:07But I stay up.
05:08I watch it all.
05:09And I tweeted out one night, I think it was week two, I said, DeMond Williams is the best-kept secret in college football.
05:14I believe it.
05:15He is dynamic, a quarterback.
05:16He can run it.
05:17He can throw it.
05:18The nation will get to meet him Saturday.
05:20And he started to emerge last year in the bowl game.
05:23He made a lot of progress in those 15 bowl practices.
05:26He really balled out in their bowl game.
05:27I think even though they lost, it was still a good performance.
05:31And Jed Fish, normally coaches are pretty coach-speak about their quarterback competition, saying, oh, it's a battle.
05:37He came out very boldly.
05:38He's like, no, this guy's our program.
05:40He's our guy.
05:41And he's lived up to expectations.
05:43So, yeah, I can't wait to see it.
05:45A good receiver core, too, to throw to.
05:47Boston's our top guy.
05:49And the line is more improved than last year.
05:51Last year, they were very thin in spring ball.
05:53They couldn't even scrimmage because they only had six healthy linemen.
05:56That has been bolstered.
05:57So, yeah, this Washington team, I'm surprised they're not ranked.
06:00I mean, then again, I'm not surprised because, you know, the AP has been spotty.
06:04But I think they're definitely one of the 25 best teams in the country, let's put it that way, and a true test for Ohio State.
