00:02You know, we heard the plea from Sark after the game
00:05and a little bit of self-servingness to it about,
00:08hey, you know, Ohio State, if they go nine and three,
00:11they should still be a playoff team.
00:13You know, they shouldn't fall that far in the rankings.
00:15Maybe they'll go 11 and one.
00:16It's not an issue, but this is a really good football team.
00:19And people are like, well, you know,
00:21he's kind of patronizing Ohio State.
00:22I go, no, I think it's a little self-serving
00:24because they went nine and three last year and got left out.
00:26But I do think that there is a reality in this
00:28where you go on the road and you lose by a great team.
00:31So by a point, how far should you fall?
00:35Should you fall from one to six?
00:37Should you fall to 10?
00:38Should you fall to four?
00:40And like when people act like the AP is one person,
00:43it's a collection of a bunch of, right,
00:46a bunch of folks that vote that it ultimately falls that way.
00:50But does it feel to you like that was an appropriate fall?
00:53Is this a new era fall?
00:56Was it one that maybe is even too far relative to how the game went?
01:00I put Ohio State five.
01:02I don't vote on the AP pool.
01:04I vote on the Super 16 for the Football Writers Association,
01:08you know, the National Football Foundation Super 16,
01:10which it always comes out first.
01:12So it's a good gauge of, you know,
01:14what the coaches pull and the AP pool might look like.
01:18You know, there'll be some discrepancies,
01:19but I thought five was fair.
01:22You know, what I was struggling with at like one o'clock on Sunday morning
01:25was, will Texas be number one?
01:28And the obvious answer is yes, because big game,
01:31if this was the playoff rankings, they would be one
01:33because that's that huge non-conference game.
01:35But, you know, Indiana and Georgia and Notre Dame have all looked very good.
01:39Granted, Indiana and Georgia haven't really played anybody yet.
01:43Notre Dame, I've been impressed with what I've seen so far.
01:46So I thought, you know, five and then Miami six, LSU seven,
01:50that top seven, pretty good.
01:53And I think all of seven of those teams, national championship caliber,
01:57all seven of those teams have a question mark.
02:00You know, for me, like Notre Dame, for example,
02:02they look very good on both sides of the ball.
02:04But I'm wondering, you know, you're still trying to replace
02:08Jadarian Price and Jeremiah Love,
02:10and I don't know that they have the answer there yet completely.
02:13It's warming up at running back with Nias Williams.
02:16But, you know, what's that going to look like when they play,
02:19you know, BYU or Miami or get into a tough game?
02:23Whenever you're doing some of these rankings
02:25and you're trying to compare an Ohio State that went out,
02:28got tested early on, and maybe a Georgia who hasn't really gotten tested yet,
02:32how do you really compare the two teams as far as where you rank them?
02:35Is it kind of eye test?
02:36Is it your assumptions on the roster they have?
02:39Like, how do you go about that?
02:40Well, I mean, Georgia, I'm assuming, I'm not assuming they're pretty good.
02:42They're pretty good.
02:43It's just hard to say.
02:45Like, you know, Gunnar Stockton, it almost feels like seven on seven
02:50in some of these games.
02:51And whoever made Western Kentucky's schedule wasn't very nice
02:54because they're going straight from Georgia, who beat them 70 to 20,
02:57to Kurt Signetti, and they're, I think, 48 and a half,
03:0149 and a half point underdogs this week.
03:04So good luck to the Hilltoppers.
03:06But Indiana, same deal.
03:08Like, we haven't really seen much out of Josh Hoover
03:12because he's been so efficient.
03:14You know, he has eight touchdown passes already.
03:16It's like every other pass is a touchdown.
03:18They obviously beat Howard pretty handily.
03:20You try to look for little things.
03:21Like, I do like their running game around Turbo Richard and Lee Beebe Jr.
03:26So it looks like Indiana hasn't changed much.
03:28Like, when Ohio State plays them, that's going to be a fun game.
03:32That's going to have the same atmosphere.
03:33It's probably going to be the greatest atmosphere in the history
03:36of Memorial Stadium in Bloomington, I would imagine,
03:39because it's been so long since they beat Ohio State
03:41in the regular season, not the Big Ten championship game.
03:45So, yeah, all four of those teams at the top are good.
03:49And I think Miami, I mean, they've scored a ton of points.
03:52It would be interesting to see, like, Ohio State and Miami play tomorrow.
03:56Louisville falling, obviously, to Ole Miss early in the season, week one.
