00:00What is the transition energy and electrification of the use?
00:13The transition energy and electrification of the use
00:17The transition energy and electrification of the use
00:17strengthen the needs of flexibility for the electrical system.
00:21And for years, the users of the electrical system
00:24have been able to count on the users
00:26to provide flexibility and respond to their needs.
00:30And today, we face a very rapid movement
00:33with an acceleration of the time of projects
00:36which makes this paradigm no longer.
00:39It is therefore important that the users of the electrical system
00:43provide transparency on the needs of the electrical system
00:47but also provide formats to contractualize the services
00:51auprès of the users
00:53and verify that the services are well provided.
00:55And so, with my study committee,
00:57it is five on the electricity markets and regulation.
01:00We work to observe the processes
01:03that are put in place in the world
01:04and then we compare them
01:06to find the best recipes and solve these challenges.
01:18CIGRE is organized geographically through national committees
01:21and thematically through study committees,
01:2416 of them covering all the domains of the electric system.
01:28And the study committee is oversighting and organizing
01:32all the technical activities which is actually performed in the working groups.
01:36working groups are organized by each study committee with experts,
01:40possibly with the highest geographical and topology of companies' diversification.
01:48The members of study committees are nominated every two years by each national committee,
01:53but you can also be involved in the working groups,
01:57bringing your expertise and learning from the expertise of the others.
02:01Working groups normally study the state of the art of some specific topics and issues
02:07and propose advancements for these topics.
02:11If you know somebody already within CIGRE organization,
02:16already a member, you can ask them
02:17or you can just look at the website of your national committee
02:21expressing your willingness to contribute with your expertise.
02:26You are welcome.
02:36The CIGRE Innovation and Education Fund was born from the success of CIGRE.
02:43It started in the 2024 Paris Session, which was record-breaking.
02:47And now in 2026 Paris Session, we are breaking the records we had before.
02:52And that success will seed the fund, but also the partnership we will have with donors
02:58in order to seed the projects that the fund will create.
03:02And the strategy of CIGRE is the reason why this fund exists.
03:07We want to expand the strategy of CIGRE and its mission for the energy transition.
03:14I'm very proud as treasurer after six years we survived COVID and we got to a success story
03:21that created the CIGRE Innovation and Education Fund.
03:34So one piece of advice which is incredibly important for a young professional is to broaden your expertise.
03:39So for example, within CIGRE there are the 16 study committees.
03:43So it gives you the opportunity to expand your knowledge, your expertise
03:46and knowledge share from key experts in that field.
03:50Also, if you're not familiar with certain areas, CIGRE gives you the opportunity to branch out
03:55and get more familiar with different areas and new technologies being deployed.
03:59Another key piece of advice which was shared with me when I joined the industry
04:02was to broaden your network.
04:04So when I joined the industry back in 2019 with my company Airgrid, the Irish TSO,
04:10I was strongly encouraged to participate in CIGRE to broaden my network.
04:15And that meant that to learn from others, create a network of young professionals
04:20and even senior professionals to learn from.
04:24So within NGN we have a community of over 45 countries internationally.
04:28And that's a fantastic enabler for young professionals to tap into and learn from others.
04:34So really encourage any young professional to get involved with NGN and CIGRE
04:38as there's fantastic enablers and levers to manage your career and broaden your network,
04:44which you'll see the fruits of it in over the coming years.
04:55One of the biggest challenges is the gap between the rapidly increasing power demand
05:04and the time required to build conventional substations.
05:10The rise of new roads, electrification, AI-driven industry and the integrations of renewable energy.
05:19All this brings high pressure, unprecedented pressure to the power grid and the power infrastructure.
05:28In most cases, the problems and constraints are no longer power generations.
05:34is how quickly the substations can be built, how quickly the power infrastructures can be built up.
05:43This is the T-Good can contribute and make a difference.
05:47Through our prefab substation and the system integrations,
05:51we can provide a very quickly solution for our customer to build up the substations.
05:57From this perspective, we are able to make disrupt changes in the industry
06:04and provide the solutions for our customer for the energy transitions.
