Getting started with an at-home skincare device doesn't have to be complicated. In this clear hardware guide, Dr. Luke breaks down the assembly, power ports, and handheld controller layout for the Nanoleaf LED light therapy mask. See how to adjust the timer, change modes across the 432 built-in LEDs, and configure intensity settings step by step.

00:00Hi, I'm here to show you how to set up the Nanoleaf LED Light Therapy Face Mask.
00:06Now my wife has already unpacked it, so this is what came inside.
00:10You have the face mask itself along with its power cord.
00:14You have the central control and power unit.
00:17You have an instruction booklet which is also online.
00:20You have the side straps as well as side strap extenders if you need them.
00:25You have the eyepieces and then you have the charging cord for the central unit itself.
00:32Now it is important that you're not meant to use the face mask while the central unit is charging,
00:37so use that separately and that can be any USB-C cord.
00:42So I'll just put that aside for now.
00:44So firstly I'll put on the eyepieces, so turn it over to the light side, select the eyepieces,
00:54and work out which way they would fit.
00:55So that's the left eye there, that's the right eye, oh no sorry vice versa, left eye and right eye.
01:03So they have little grooves here, just gently
01:08mould it into place.
01:11These are made of silicon.
01:14So they mould quite easily.
01:16So that's the right eye there and then do the same with the left.
01:27There you go, so the eyepieces are on.
01:30And then next I shall put on the side straps.
01:36So feed that through each
01:40socket.
01:42Actually my apologies, I would have done that the wrong way around.
01:46This way.
01:47Feed that through the side straps.
01:51And fold it over.
01:53And then the same with this piece here.
01:56Through the side straps, fold it over.
02:02And then I'll test it on for size, take off the glasses here.
02:10And yes that actually feels very comfortable with the standard straps.
02:13But if you did need to use the extenders, quite easy to use.
02:22Just essentially add that there.
02:24So that extra extension.
02:29I'll just take that off and set it aside for a moment.
02:33And then comes the actual central unit.
02:37Here comes the two ports.
02:39A USB-A port.
02:41To run the face mask with.
02:45And then a USB-C port at the bottom to charge the unit.
02:49Once again, don't charge the unit whilst you're actually using the face mask.
02:53Then you have the display screen.
02:54And then you have three buttons.
02:56Power.
02:57Function.
02:58And timer.
03:00So the power button.
03:01To turn it on, you've got to put your finger on it for a couple of seconds.
03:04If you just push briefly, it won't go on.
03:06So push down.
03:07Till you hear the beep.
03:09And then on the display.
03:11Up the top.
03:12On the right, it's got the battery power.
03:14So it comes fully charged.
03:15Which is a pleasant change.
03:17It's got the intensity.
03:19Which I think at the moment is five out of five.
03:22So it's got five different levels of intensity.
03:25In the middle it's got color.
03:26So it's currently set at red.
03:28Then on the right it has NIR, so near infrared.
03:33So it's always set on near infrared.
03:35And down the bottom it's got timer.
03:36So it comes preset at 10 minutes.
03:38But you can change it anywhere from one to 30 minutes.
03:41Although five to ten is what is usually recommended.
03:44So I'll just turn it off again.
03:47Turn it back on.
03:49Now to change the color you push this button once.
03:53So it's gone from red to green.
03:57And it's got in the booklet here what the different colors are.
04:01And what the different functions are.
04:08So you've got red.
04:09You've got green.
04:12You've got blue.
04:14You've got cyan.
04:16You've got yellow.
04:18You've got purple.
04:21And then you've got white or L for light.
04:24So we'll put it back on red.
04:26Now to change the intensity you've got to push this button twice in quick succession.
04:32So it's gone down to, so it wasn't five out of five.
04:34It's gone down to one, two, three, four, five.
04:41And then to change the timer, push this button here.
04:44So it's currently at 10 minutes, so it goes to 11.
04:46So each time you push it, it goes up a minute, up to 30.
04:50Now if you want it to go quicker, you can just put your finger down
04:52and keep your, keep your finger on it.
04:54And it'll cycle through more rapidly.
04:57So once again, recommendation is five to ten minutes.
04:59So we'll just leave it at 10 minutes.
05:01So I'll turn it off again.
05:03And then we'll actually attach it to the mask.
05:08Now look at the different colors.
05:11There we go.
05:16So red, green, blue,
05:27cyan, yellow, purple, white.
05:37Back to red again.
05:42And I shall put it on.
05:52And there you go.
05:53My face is ready to be rejuvenated.
