Putting on the Nanoleaf LED Light Therapy Face Mask for the very first time! (Disclosure: This mask was sent to us for free by Nanoleaf to review; all views are completely my own.)

From removing my makeup with micellar water to breaking down why 432 LEDs prevent cold spots, I share my experience with the comfortable silicone design, flat straps for morning bed routines, and the durable yet lightweight build. I also cover alternating between red/infrared and full white light modes, varying intensity via the handheld controller, and utilizing the eye pieces.

00:00So I'm very excited. I'm going to be using my new Nanoleaf Red Light Therapy Mask and this is a
00:07first try on so I cannot wait to see what the silicon is actually going to feel like against my
00:12skin and also the straps, comfortable straps is a big deal for me. I do not like uncomfortable straps.
00:19So I'm going to be taking my sunscreen and makeup off though just quickly. I use a micellar water and
00:26we'll just give my skin a little bit of a clean. You don't want obviously sunscreen on your skin before
00:34you use a Red Light Therapy Mask and in fact my normal routine would be that I use it in
00:39the morning. So I do Red Light Therapy in the morning before I even get up if I can, if
00:47I get a chance.
00:48But a lot of mornings I do when I wake up pretty early. So I'll just give that a little
00:53wipe off and to clean these Red Light Therapy Masks I have looked up, apparently you can use a little
01:02bit of vinegar on just a soft cloth or something just to give it a little bit of a clean.
01:08I'll give it one more. You do want your skin to be feather clean before you put a mask on
01:16like this.
01:17But I love Red and Infrared Light Therapy. So the Nanoleaf Mask, it's got seven treatment modalities basically but I'm
01:25in it for the anti-aging, the red and infrared.
01:28And the red light is at 640 nanometres and the infrared is 850. And the infrared actually comes with all
01:36the colours anyway.
01:38And so this also comes with white light too as one of the seven treatment modalities.
01:43So to be honest, the way I'll be using it is I think I'll alternate. Like some mornings I'll use
01:48the red and infrared because the infrared comes with them all.
01:51And then other mornings I'll use the white light because the white light actually includes all the wavelengths.
01:58So the green for calming, the blue for antibacterial and all the others as well, the yellow, the cyan, the
02:03purple.
02:04So anyway, let's pop this on. So I've got the eyepieces. I sometimes don't wear eyepieces with my masks but
02:12I do look it up.
02:14So if you've got light sensitivities or it's actually not a bad idea basically, especially I think with this one
02:21because Nanoleaf started as a lighting company.
02:25So they've got all the manufacturing know-how to do high intensity LEDs.
02:30And so this mask actually has a whopping 432 LEDs, which is a lot higher than a lot of other
02:37masks around the same price point on the market.
02:40So I think the light can be quite intense, but you can vary the intensity with the handheld controller.
02:48Okay, so let's pop this on.
02:52Oh, it smells so beautiful because it's brand new. Oh, I love new things.
02:56It feels really comfortable on. Like the silicone is really soft.
03:00And the strap, the strap is actually really nice.
03:04So the strap is nice and wide. I'll show you how it fits on the back here.
03:08So that is really comfortable.
03:10And why that matters, I mean, obviously a portable mask is, the whole point of a portable mask is that
03:17you can do things as you wear it.
03:19But the way, like I said, I usually use them is first thing in the morning before I've even gotten
03:25up.
03:25And so this matters because I'll actually mostly, when I'm using it, be lying down.
03:30So you really, I'm happy anyway to have a very comfortable sort of circle strap there at the back.
03:36So, okay, we're going to pop this on.
03:38Well, basically feel, it feels lovely.
03:40Like the silicone is really soft and it feels really nice.
03:43And it molds really beautifully to my head.
03:46And yes, very comfortable strap.
03:48So I'm happy with that.
03:49Okay, well, to turn it on, you just press this button here.
03:52So, oh no, you have to hold it for a second, I think.
03:55Yeah, there, it's on.
03:58And the intensity, I've got it on the highest intensity.
04:02But to change the intensity, you press quickly twice on this top button here.
04:07And I've got it on the red light, but I can circle through all the colors here.
04:13But I can see the colors changing.
04:16This is cool.
04:17Oh, white.
04:18I'm on white now.
04:19And I'm back to red.
04:21Red is the anti-aging.
04:22So, I mean, I do love red light therapy.
04:25But there you go.
04:26So, this is so cool.
04:28And then if you do want to, I mean, I do like to, you know, just lie back and use
04:34it.
04:34But as a portable thing, what else is really cool about this is this is light as a feather.
04:41Like this is actually really light.
04:42I have got a few different masks.
04:45So, I was really grateful, actually, that Nanoleaf did send me this one to try.
04:50Because it is, it's their new red light therapy mask, basically.
04:53So, I was really excited to unbox this and try it, which I am doing now.
04:58But some of the control units are actually quite heavy.
05:01Whereas this, this actually is really, really light.
05:04So, to use it, I mean, I do have a few devices that I use around the place, around the
05:09house.
05:10So, you could, I mean, I just tuck it here or you can just tuck it in your pocket or
05:14you can just hold it in your hand as well.
05:17Like it's, it's really light.
05:19But, this is really cool.
05:21So, I love it.
05:22And look, it looks really cool.
05:24It looks awesome.
05:25I actually think it's an improvement.
05:28I might go shopping with my new mask.
05:30But no, I'm so excited.
05:32Like this, this is really lovely.
05:34This also is light and flexible.
05:37I have had a couple of other masks.
05:40One mask was a little bit too flimsy.
05:43And by that, I mean, the straps actually gave way.
05:45And also, these control units came away as well.
05:50But that was light.
05:51And I did like using it because it was light.
05:53Then, I had another one that was very sturdy but a bit too bulky.
05:58So, this one actually feels like a happy medium.
06:01Like it feels like it's going to be strong and tough enough to last the distance.
06:05Because I do use my devices quite regularly.
06:08But it's also really light.
06:09And it feels really, really comfortable.
06:11So, there you go.
06:12I'm very excited with my beautiful new mask.
06:15And I'm very excited that it's got all those, that massive amount, 432 LEDs.
06:20Because that's going to give my skin really even coverage with the light.
06:24And that's going to eliminate what's called white spots.
06:28Which, if you're using another mask with bigger gaps, basically, I think, between the light hitting your skin, that can
06:35be called, I think.
06:36I mean, no, sorry, not white spots.
06:38Cold spots.
06:39I think that can be called cold spots.
06:41So, I think the massive amount of LEDs is going to probably go some way to eliminating that.
06:47But anyway, this is cool.
06:48So, I'm going to go and chill out for a little bit with my awesome mask.
