Before my clinic visit, I demonstrate my morning at-home skincare tech using the TriPollar STOP Vx (radiofrequency with dynamic muscle activation) and my red light therapy lamp to keep my skin feeling healthy and vibrant.

Key Topics Covered:

Defining skin longevity and long-term skin health.

00:00So this is my at-home RF station where I can use my Tri-Polar Stop VX which has got
00:06that dynamic muscle activation that you can use along your jawline to hopefully lift those jowls and this is my
00:14red light therapy lamp here that I can sort of move around because I am a big believer in basically
00:21looking after the tools that you use every day and for me one of those is absolutely my skin.
00:27So between being outside in the elements here on the Gold Coast in the sun and the wind but also
00:34being inside for long hours like in the studio or in front of the computer I have learned that it's
00:40easier and more effective to basically support what you already have rather than starting over or catching up later.
00:47So investing in skin treatments for me I think is a little bit of a reset and it's that maintenance
00:55and it's about giving my skin a little bit of that extra support so it can stay hydrated and resilient
01:02and hopefully as fresh as possible.
01:04So I can keep up with this fast paced life and hopefully feel as vibrant on the outside as I
01:13feel on the inside.
01:23So I'm here at the Spoke Longevity and Aesthetic Medicine Clinic here on the Gold Coast and I'm exploring the
01:30range of different treatment options that they have and I'm seeing the lovely Dr. Alex again today.
01:39Oh actually I can smell coffee in here it's beautiful.
01:45It's so relaxing always to come in here and just chill out on this beautiful couch.
01:52It's very comfortable.
01:54So I'm here with Dr. Alex.
01:56Hi everyone.
01:57Thank you for your time.
01:58And I just have a couple of or a few questions just about this whole area.
02:03What does longevity actually mean for the skin?
02:05Yeah.
02:06So longevity is a bit of a funny word.
02:07Really what it means is it means increasing your health span over time.
02:11And I guess if we bring that to the skin origin we want to keep your skin as healthy for
02:16as long as possible.
02:17So we want to make it look and feel amazing right now.
02:21Yeah.
02:22Yeah that makes sense.
02:23Longevity and health.
02:24Yeah especially in Australia I guess with all the sun damage we want to especially make sure that we're preventing
02:29any more damage.
02:31But also trying to reverse as much of the damage as we can.
02:34And where is aesthetic medicine sort of heading?
02:37What's the future of aesthetic medicine?
02:39So I think aesthetic medicine has definitely been, has been a huge kind of 360.
02:44And we always see kind of the pendulum swing in both ways.
02:48We're definitely on the idea right now of more natural results.
02:52That's exactly what we pride ourselves on here.
02:55We've moved away significantly from big lips and overfilled and frozen faces to more natural results.
03:03Yeah.
03:04And I guess when it comes to it we use a lot more kind of biostimulators, biomodulators to really give
03:10the skin as much collagen, beautiful elastin as we can.
03:14And work kind of from within.
03:16That's what I need.
03:18Yay!
03:19You look beautiful on your skin.
03:21It's beautiful.
03:22Yeah well I do.
03:23Like I use the red light and all that sort of stuff.
03:25And I am interested in keeping skin as healthy as possible.
03:29But what's one simple thing that I could do for my skin at my age now 52?
03:34Yeah.
03:35So there's a few different things.
03:37Number one is always staying hydrated.
03:39Yeah.
03:39Number two is definitely staying out of the sun.
03:41And that brings us to number three.
03:43Number three is always really good skin care.
03:45So if you're going to invest in anything, a lung of vitamin C in the morning, a good SPF every
03:51day, no matter what, and a retinol for in the evening.
03:54Yeah.
03:55Yeah.
03:56And if you're sort of new to this journey and you're looking around to find a place to go to,
04:02how do you know if a clinic then is a good fit for you?
04:06I think you have to go somewhere that has everything on offer.
04:09If they only have fillers and Botoxes on offer, then they may not be the clinic for you if that's
04:15not what you're looking for.
04:16If you're focusing on skin health, they usually would have lasers or different kind of devices that could stimulate collagen
04:23or collagen stimulators at the same time.
04:25But really important to speak to a professional who's been in the industry for a while and to have a
04:31lot of options available.
04:32There's never usually just one option available.
04:35You have to have multiple options and see what's right for you.
04:37Yeah.
04:38Well, I love this clinic because you do have so many different varieties of treatments.
04:44We do.
04:44You've got the needling, which I'm having a series of photos at the moment.
04:47Yes.
04:47It's beautiful, isn't it?
04:49Yeah, it is.
04:49It really is.
04:50Yeah.
04:51The stuff that she uses, the by reason.
04:54Oh, it's gorgeous.
04:55It is.
04:55That's the way your skin has been so amazing.
04:57Yeah.
04:58I do really like needling.
05:00And yeah, you're right.
05:01It's good to have that variety because then you can tailor it to each, I guess, individual as well.
05:05Totally, because normal skin is the same.
05:07So we really have to have like a bespoke plan for you.
05:10And if redness is more of an issue with pigmentation, you don't have any pigmentation, so that's not an issue
05:15for you.
05:16If it's more dryness, if it's more for hydration, anti-aging, I mean, we really have to be able to
05:21target a plan.
05:22Yeah.
05:23And what makes you passionate about all of this, like skin health and...
05:27Skin health in general?
05:28Yeah.
05:29I think I've always been interested in a set, but I find it a really happy area of medicine.
05:33And I think that's why I enjoy it so much.
05:36It's patients leave feeling so confident and you're changing their lives in very different ways.
05:41I mean, some people can say it's very superficial, but the confidence that you see when people leave when they're
05:46feeling better in their own skin, I mean, that's irreplaceable.
05:49It just makes you feel so good.
05:52That's really lovely.
05:53Yeah.
05:55It does feel nice to get, like, you know, straightness and to sort of look after yourself.
06:01It's a form of looking after yourself.
06:03Even if you have to have a pretty cold.
06:05I know.
06:08It's good for your muscles.
06:24And just...
06:25You can get this one.
06:27Yeah.
06:27Beautiful.
06:29I'm just getting this a few more.
06:31I don't know, too.
06:31Have you noticed it in there?
06:33Yeah, I think so.
06:34Like, I really...
06:34I really am happy with them.
06:36Yeah.
06:39Now, this one here, you'll be able to put just one inch in your body.
06:43Oh, cool.
06:44This treatment can be a little bit spicy, okay?
06:48But by the time I'm down the other side, you won't feel it anymore.
06:52Okay.
06:55Yeah.
06:56You're tight.
06:58Here you go.
07:09You're tight.
07:11Yeah.
07:11Yeah.
07:12Yeah.
07:15It's horrible.
07:17I think I am glad I had the numbing though, because I could feel like it's inside, it's deep,
07:22That's all well.
07:23It's deep.
07:23Yeah, it's uncomfortable to wear and inject it, like here.
07:26Just leave it.
07:28Over the next 24 hours, it'll just dissipate into the skin and then it starts working its
07:32magic.
07:33So you might see a couple lines for about 24 hours, then it'll go.
07:36But no need to massage or do anything there.
07:38Yeah.
07:39I won't touch it.
07:41Aw, thank you.
07:42Thank you so much.
07:43You're welcome.
07:44I really enjoyed that.
07:45Yeah, that little vibe right in there.
07:47Yeah.
07:47And let me just see it for one second.
07:49Oh, yeah.
07:49I'll just get rid of my shorts.
07:50That would just come up.
07:52Because didn't you think the brain can't, or it sort of scrambles your brain a little
07:57bit?
07:58It does.
07:59Because it can't really...
08:00So you should use a vibration device in labour.
08:02Yeah.
08:03Oh, yeah.
08:04I know.
08:07Well, I guess maybe that's a bit what the terms is like slightly.
08:09Yeah.
08:11So your brain struggles to read pain and vibration at the same time, so it scrambles it a bit.
08:16And it does.
08:17It's a good distraction.
08:31This is great.
08:33Oh, thank you.
08:33I'm really excited to see that.
08:35So it'll be a slower process, but you'll really see before and after how different it'll
08:40be.
08:41Yeah.
08:41Okay.
08:41Yeah.
08:41So even after just once...
08:43So if the product itself is then helping to stimulate collagen?
08:47Oh.
08:48Yeah.
08:48So even after once.
08:49So patients usually notice a difference by one month when they're coming back for their
08:53second treatment.
08:54Okay.
08:55Yeah.
08:55They already usually notice a difference, and then by four months is usually when it's
08:58mostly activated.
08:59Okay.
09:00Yeah.
09:00So I still, I would recommend a second, but up to you when we do it.
09:04Yeah.
09:05Yeah, sure.
09:05It doesn't have to be right away.
09:07It doesn't have to be right away.
09:07Yeah.
09:07But even just one, the ingredients itself will still be like, I guess eating broccoli.
09:12Yeah.
09:13And even if you haven't looked now, you'll be able to see in the mirror how already you
09:18look a lot more full in the tangles there.
09:21Yeah.
09:21Right.
09:21Okay.
09:24I love any treatment that's also helping your own body.
09:29Oh, yeah.
09:30Yeah.
09:31Basically, I don't ever really want just a filler anymore ever.
09:36Yeah.
09:36Yeah.
09:36I only want things that are going to actually rebuild yourself as well.
09:41I agree.
09:42Yeah.
09:43But yes, go have a look.
09:44Yeah.
09:47Any rebuilding is always good at this point.
09:49Yeah.
09:50Yeah.
09:50Oh, yeah.
09:51No, you are right.
09:52Yeah.
09:52Right?
09:53Yeah.
09:54Get some of that volume back and, oh, thank you.
09:59Feel good to see you.
10:00I'll see you next time.
10:02Bye.
10:02Sounds good to see you.
10:08Well, that was really nice to come in and see Dr. Alex again.
10:11And I was really interested in what she said about what longevity means for the skin
10:15and how, obviously, it's tied to very much health.
10:18So healthy skin.
10:19And also where aesthetics is going.
10:23So people are now a lot more interested in those biostimulatory treatments to give your
10:29skin that support it needs to rebuild its own collagen.
10:32So, and I'm really enjoying exploring the different options of treatments here that they have at
10:38Bespoke.
10:38And I'm very much looking forward to coming in again for my next treatment.
10:42We need to go for our next treatment.
10:43We're all right.
10:43We're all right.
