00:00into the brand new home of NFL Live and that means it's your new home too. We'll be here in
00:05this space every weekday at 4 Eastern bringing you all the action from around the NFL like we
00:10always do and we're so excited for this. Speaking of the NFL, the 2026 season kicks off in just
00:16over four hours with a Super Bowl rematch between the Patriots and Seahawks. Of course, the last
00:21time we saw these two play, Seattle hoisted the Lombardi Trophy and walked away chance.
00:26It's the first of 285 games. Colt Slater is in the Pacific Northwest. Joining us now, Jane,
00:32Seattle has 20 of 22 starters coming back from that Super Bowl winning roster. But
00:37why does this year feel so different?
00:41Laura, because one of the two, he is out. Emmanuel Emanwari, well, he is questionable but highly
00:48doubtful that he goes in this one. So what does that ultimately mean? Two of the three guys
00:54that they were in Seattle with that played in that Super Bowl back in February? They're not
00:59going to be available on this one. So we're waiting to see who they call up to take their
01:03place. That's substantial.
01:04Yeah, something to keep an eye on for sure. Thanks so much to Jane. And this will be the
01:07third time the team's done yesterday.
01:11Listen, this had been off the table in Baker's mind, but the Buccaneers and Baker Mayfield maintain
01:16open lines of communication.
01:18Incredible news. When you think about that Giants offense, it was kind of like, okay, we think
01:22about it on one hand without Malik neighbors and that's a different story with him. It's a much
01:26better story. Let's continue on as we read and react. Hawk, we've seen very little of neighbors
01:31on the field actually with Jackson Dart because of the injury and when it happened. How does a
01:35healthy neighbors change things for his quarterback? I mean, it changed. Like no drama,
01:39the roster seemingly intact, no contract issues, all these things. Like how did they pull that off?
01:45Is it real? It feels real. McVeigh coaching tree. He's 50 something. He's from the Scottenheimer
01:50tree. And I think he deserves credit for how he's handled the team.
01:52I love that you give that credit. Thanks to some of the other teams for giving us some
01:55other drama to talk about. I don't know what else. Thank you Cleveland. Thank you. Let's
02:00go to the Bucs. We're at all right. So yeah, trailing three of the greatest quarterbacks in
02:04league history, Peyton Manning, Brady with the Bucs, Dan Marino with Mayfield. The Bucs have
02:09made the playoff twice in three seasons. You just think about all the great things he has done
02:12for them. A lot of those touchdown passes went to Mike Evans though, Dan, he's now in San Francisco.
02:17So what needs to happen in the pass game on Sunday when that ball is going to have to get
02:21out of that quarterback's hands and get out quickly. Can he win those one-on-ones? And in
02:26week one announced to everybody like, Hey, I know Ted McMillan won rookie of the year last year,
02:30offensive rookie of the year, but I was right there with him and become that go-to wide receiver.
02:34Yeah, they love him there. I mean, they felt like even as a rookie, he was already behaving like a
02:39veteran. You would think that next step is going to be that much more impressive. Coming up next,
02:42right here on NFL Live, Josh McDade, all eyes on the quarterbacks, right? Patrick Mahomes and Bo
02:47Nix. They're both coming off major injuries. Let's start with Denver. Should we expect to see
02:51Nix out there Monday? Yeah. Well, Laura, before I get to Bo Nix, I do want to say this. The
02:56new
02:56studio looks absolutely gorgeous. It's incredible what it looks like, the graphics. And here I am,
03:03here I am in this 20-year-old office that is so outdated right now. I feel like I want
03:08to redo my
03:10whole office right now watching you guys in the studio. All right, let's get to Bo Nix.
03:13Let's get to the same people that did this to your office and we'll make it happen in there for
03:17you,
03:17okay? Bo Nix is on track to bring you that broadcast on ESPN and ABC. And as Dan said yesterday,
03:25credit to Patrick Mahomes for getting healthy. Also a credit to Bo Nix. They both dealt with some big
03:29time injuries. With a healthy Mahomes, by the way, ESPN Analytics gives the Chiefs a 10% chance to win
03:34the AFC this season. That is because you've picked about seven different teams. I think at some
03:39point I took five different teams. Yeah. Okay. About the NFC. Plus for self-awareness. Just rims.
03:44Okay, good. Just rims. Are you going to re-selfish?
03:45Scott Ward coming your way here on NFL Live. Back in college, he has never had a guy who throws
03:49like
03:49this. And maybe it's the euphoria to Randy Moss joining the Pats in that first game against the Jets.
03:54He's the exact same age. He's 29 years old. He's about the same talent. And I just think like, I'm
03:59thinking
03:59all pro. All pro. And the grass is real here. Yeah. It's like Augusta. It's crisp. It's like Augusta
04:06National. For this one, Lindsey Theory is in Melbourne for Niners Rams tonight. What about 6 a.m.
04:11there? And Lindsey, the Rams just arrived yesterday. They're getting ready to go today.
04:15What's the lead-up been like for this Rams team?
04:19Good morning from Melbourne, Laura. I can tell you.
04:22For them, certainly. And thanks so much to Lindsey. A lot to get to. Remember, the Rams,
04:25they scouted this out when it came to the travel plan. They had sent some people over.
04:30They made sure that that was the way to go about it. We'll see which team ends up having
04:34the best travel plan as we welcome you into the show. We got Dan J. Mack in field here. Adam
04:37Schefter
04:38is with us throughout as well. And J. Mack, having Bosa out there, big for the Niners defense. Fred
04:42Warner. So in preparation for this game, I was talking to Pat Sertain, Adam, and he was like,
04:46yeah, we're expecting the full Mahomes. You can't go into this and be like, oh, Mahomes is not
04:51going to be 100%. What should we expect, though, from your view?
04:56Well, Laura, the Broncos are going to be fascinating to see him back out there. And again,
04:59remarkable, the recovery that he's made. This Broncos defense, J. Mack, they are something
05:04to write home about. What do you expect? Like, there's a lot of confidence amongst the Chiefs,
05:09just knowing that they had the enemy back. It's a good point. All right, let's talk a little
05:12bit more about Kyler Murray and what we can expect. Okay, this may be the offense I'm most excited
05:17to see, Dan, with Kyler at the helm. I'm really interested to see how it looks. What are you
05:21looking out for, Adam, in Soto's offense? Yeah, new version of Kyler Murray.
05:25I mean, it's so good. Field, you're in the fat part of the bat right now.
05:30That's a compliment, Laura? You pretend like it is? I'm going to actually just start saying that
05:33to anybody and everybody I can find and see how it plays. What are you most excited for
05:37with this Harbaugh-McDaniel offense debuting on Sunday? For much of Jim Harbaugh's career
05:41as a head coach in the NFL, I feel like this part of the season, starting this weekend against
05:45the Arizona Cardinals, I will be very interested to see, like, are there going to be a couple
05:49of moments where Jim Harbaugh has to overrule Mike McDaniel or vice versa in, like, critical
05:55gotta-have-it situations? Who sort of rules the roost? Yeah, game management scenarios.
05:59Who's middle of the bat is fatter? Ooh. I'm going to leave that there. But I will tell you,
06:04I think the fat part of the bat hits home run, so we're knocking him out of the park.
06:10All right, we got more coming your way here on it.
06:12That's not a bad food take-by.
06:14It's so specific, though. Dark chocolate.
06:16He likes dark chocolate. I don't like milk chocolate.
06:20Thursday's off to a roaring start.
06:21We're talking smack. Hey, this crew, every Thursday. We'll see you next week. Enjoy tomorrow
06:25and enjoy the game tonight.
