00:04Selanjutnya, Prime Minister Sri Marendra Moodyeji,
00:11Distinguished Leaders of BRICS, Distinguished Delegates, Excellencies,
00:18Allow me first to thank our host and this year's chair for the welcome extended to our delegation,
00:27the excellent hospitality.
00:31I would also like to commend the great leadership shown by Prime Minister Sri Marendra Moodye
00:41in leading BRICS.
00:44It is a great pleasure to be here and to join all of you in this summit.
00:51We are a new member of BRICS and we would like to thank all the founders of BRICS
01:01for receiving us very quickly to be a member of this great new organization
01:12that represents half of humanity.
01:18There is an old Indonesian saying,
01:22Bersatu kita teguh, terpecah kita runtuh.
01:27It means united, we stand strong.
01:31Divided, we fall.
01:33This simple wisdom captures the spirit that brought the Global South,
01:41countries from Asia and Africa, together several decades ago in Bandung.
01:52We in the Global South now feel our voice is heard.
01:58Nations that have recently gained independence,
02:04that had fought imperialism and colonialism,
02:10now come together as equals.
02:15We understand that by standing together,
02:19our voices will carry further.
02:23Our interest can be better protected and advanced.
02:28This lesson remains very important.
02:34By standing together,
02:37we also become stronger.
02:41Strength always begins at home with our people,
02:46with our ability to feed our people,
02:50to secure the energy that they need,
02:53to educate our children,
02:55and to give them the opportunity to prosper.
02:59That is how we build resilient nations
03:03and we become really independent.
03:07We do not like to be dictated to
03:11by any one or two powers.
03:14We must be resilient and then we become really independent.
03:22We have strengthened our foundation
03:25to preserve peace and to build trust.
03:32With such a strong foundation,
03:35I am convinced that BRICS continue to strengthen cooperation
03:40in areas that directly affect our resilience.
03:46Energy is one clear example.
03:48We are connecting our energy systems
03:51and strengthening energy security
03:53across our regions
03:56to power our economies
03:57and build lasting resilience.
04:04As I mentioned before,
04:07BRICS represents
04:10half of all humanity
04:13and a major share
04:15of the global economy
04:17and global trade.
04:19It brings together
04:21the world's largest markets
04:23and major energy producers.
04:27This gives us
04:29enormous collective strength.
04:32Imagine what BRICS can achieve
04:35if this strength
04:36is fully mobilized
04:38to help secure
04:40food and energy supplies.
04:44Imagine if our markets,
04:46capital, resources,
04:48technology, and knowledge
04:49are better connected,
04:52creating greater opportunities
04:54for the developing world.
04:57Imagine if the countries
04:59of the global South
05:00can speak with greater confidence
05:01and greater coordination
05:03in shaping the institutions
05:06that govern our world
05:07in protecting and enhancing peace
05:11in fighting for justice.
05:16Together, we can build
05:18a stronger multilateral system
05:20that supports
05:22the needs
05:23and the interests
05:25of all nations
05:27big and strong.
05:31Big and small,
05:32strong,
05:33or weak.
05:35For this to succeed,
05:37we must keep
05:38the United Nations
05:40at the center of that system
05:42because the United Nations
05:44remains the only
05:45multilateral institution
05:47where all nations
05:49come together
05:50as equals.
05:52And for the UN
05:54to be at the center
05:56effectively,
05:58it must be reformed.
06:00The UN has to be
06:02more representative,
06:04more responsive,
06:06and better able
06:08to deliver concrete results
06:10for our peoples.
06:12At the same time,
06:14our international
06:15financial institutions
06:16must also evolve.
06:22Trade and currency
06:24must not be weaponized.
06:29They must better respond
06:30to the needs
06:32of developing countries,
06:35including by providing
06:37better access
06:38to resources.
06:41BRICS has a role
06:42to play
06:43by strengthening
06:45our own capacity
06:46to contribute
06:47to global resilience.
06:51By mobilizing resources
06:53for infrastructure
06:55and development,
06:56we can strengthen
06:57the global South's capacity
06:59to finance
07:00its own future.
07:03This is the kind
07:04of collective strength
07:05we need.
07:08Strength
07:08that does not
07:10remain on paper
07:12but translates
07:13into opportunities
07:15for our people.
07:17Strength
07:17that allows
07:19the global South
07:19to have a greater voice
07:22in shaping
07:22its own future.
07:24The extreme strength
07:25must also be used
07:27to build a more just
07:29and equitable
07:30international order.
07:33Together,
07:33we can make
07:34our strengths count.
07:36Thank you.
