00:00In this video, I will show you how to block specific websites on Chrome.
00:05Whether you want to block distracting websites, restrict access to certain pages, or simply
00:10have more control over the websites available on your computer, this guide will take you
00:14through the process.

00:23Now, to do this, what you want to do is open up a new Google Chrome browser, and once you've
00:28done that, you want to come and click onto the three dots up in the top right-hand corner.
00:31From this menu that comes up, what you want to do is come and hover over extensions.
00:36And on the sub menu that comes up, you want to click to visit the Chrome web store.
00:40Now all you need to do once you're here is come to the search box at the top.
00:43From here, you're going to type block websites, and then hit enter to search for the different
00:48extensions.
00:49Now there's a number of different extensions available to do this, but the one I prefer
00:53to use is the one at the top, which is the featured extension by blocksite.co.
00:57So what you want to do is give it a click, that's going to take you to the extension
01:01page.
01:02And from here, you can click the blue add to Chrome button.
01:05On the pop-up window, just simply click add extension.
01:07What that's going to do is install this extension onto your Google Chrome.
01:12After a minute or two, you should get a pop-up saying that this has been successfully installed.
01:16And generally, it's going to take you to the home screen like this.
01:19Now to actually go ahead and choose this to block a specific website, what you're going
01:23to want to do first is come to the website that you want to block.
01:26So for example, let's just say I wanted to block this website, which is the sky news
01:32website.
01:32Then once you're on the website, what you want to do is come to the top and click onto the
01:37extensions icon, which is kind of jigsaw puzzle piece of an icon just in the top right hand
01:41corner.
01:42Now, once you do that, you should see the block site extension come up.
01:46Give it a click.
01:46When you first do this is what you're going to want to do is accept the terms and privacy
01:50policy.
01:51And there might be an ad that comes up so you can just click the cross to close this
01:54off.
01:55Then it's going to take you to this screen asking if you want to block this website.
01:58From here, what you can do is click the green block list site button.
02:02As you can see, it says site added to your block list.
02:05And you'll now see if I go ahead and refresh the page that the page is not going to load.
02:10As you can see, it says that news.sky.com is blocked.
02:13If you want to change this at any point, just simply click onto the extensions icon.
02:17And what you want to do is click onto block site again from this window that comes up to
02:22scroll down a bit and you can see there's a button to edit your block list.
02:26Give that a click.
02:27That's going to take you to your block list.
02:29And here is where you can find all your blocked websites.
02:32So if you want to unhide this and unblock it, just simply click onto the trash can icon.
02:37That's going to unblock the websites, but that's a quick overview on how to block a specific
02:41website on Google Chrome.
