00:23in the schumacher lounge today yeah it'd be my pleasure so this is the driver lounge in monza
00:28to celebrate michael schumacher and various memorabilia displayed around here there's
00:34also an auction going on which is run by bonhams so everybody at home can join in the fun you
00:41don't
00:41have to be here to bid you can bid online via the bonhams website and it's amazing because the
00:48driver lounge has a great partnership with michael schumacher and also many of the teams have been
00:55involved they've donated their suits to the auction like mclaren there's something from lando norris
01:00his championship season kimmy antonelli from his rookie season his racing suit and also ferrari
01:08have given some signed items from charles leclerc and lewis hamilton so you'll see various memorabilia
01:15display around the lounge as well as two of his cars so let me show you around let's go okay

01:24can you explain us what is this miracle suite yeah this uh this is lando norris's suit from
01:31his championship season so 2025 he signed the suit as well and it was actually the suit that he wore
01:39in
01:40uh practice or qualifying i think on the weekend of the italian grand prix last year um it's beautiful
01:47the display cases are also from hall of fame collection and you can bid on this suit at the
01:54bonhams auction right now and this is a kimmy antonelli suite yeah this is from 2025 as you know he
02:03was a
02:03rookie driver then i mean 18 years old doing some unbelievable things now he's a little bit older
02:10and he maybe even be world champion so this is one of his suits from 2025 that he actually used
02:18this is a rookie season and somebody can bid on this suit and take it home for their collection
02:25and this is a beautiful memorabilia from michael schumacher that's right michael schumacher 1998 suit
02:33and there's also one from 2000 so his first world championship so if somebody is a ferrari fan or
02:40schumacher fan they have the opportunity to uh to take home something amazing like this for their
02:45collection and now we finally see a car that's right so you get to see michael schumacher's 1996 ferrari
02:53in the lounge it's amazing because it's right next to the track that he raced it and as you know
02:59in 96
02:59it was his first year with ferrari there's a lot of people celebrating that as well as weekend including
03:04the drivers who have a lot of tributes to michael with their race suits and their helmets and this
03:11is the car that started it all it was a difficult season in 96 but obviously persevered to go on
03:17to win
03:18five straight championships for screw the rear ferrari and this is the actual car that he raced so
03:25amazing to come into the schumacher lounge experience beautiful things like this to see in person
03:31and also enjoy the racing right next door and this is the beautiful michael schumacher benetton 1994
03:40that's right this was obviously michael's first driver championship with benetton and i believe
03:46this is the actual chassis that he won in us well he won the championship in australia and the infamous
03:53crash with damon hill uh damon hill has been a guest of the schumacher lounge in the driver lounge last
03:59year and actually came up to the car i think he maybe even sat in it i mean how amazing
04:05is that that
04:06you'll see former drivers here come do appearances to the driver lounge david cool todd's been here before
04:12martin brundle and um yeah rubens barichello also they like to tell the stories about their great
04:19history with obviously michael schumacher a lot of battles a lot of good and bad memories to go with it
04:26and this is 2004 championship trophy that's right 2004 as you know hilaria was his seventh driver's
04:35championship and this is uh kindly been put on display by the schumacher family so one of michael's
04:42actual driver trophies and uh the la in the lounge there's a lot of charity events set up for the
04:50keep fighting michael foundation so the schumacher family is very involved you will see them in the
04:56lounge here and of course we've got the beautiful seventh championship trophy the nice thing is for the
05:02people in the lounge you get to come up close you can see all the drivers names in history that
05:07have

05:15this lounge can you tell us something about how schumacher is involved in this beautiful lounge yeah of
05:22course well the driver lounge has been created really to to pay tribute to the greats of motorsport and
05:27when we created this there was only one driver there was only one driver that we wanted to start
05:31with and that was the great michael schumacher and when you look at his racing career i mean why not
05:36so what we've done is we have created an immersive lounge where our guests can come in they can be
05:41immersed in michael's career you would have seen some of the decoration that we have around uh people
05:45can learn all about his his legacy his amazing racing career of course we have the ferrari 310v the first
05:52he ever drove we have the benetton from 1994 the car that he won his first championship in we get
05:57to
05:57look we get to feel we get to touch we get to explore this incredible man uh and really this
06:02is this
06:03is our tribute and we're very fortunate to have the full blessing and the full authority from the
06:08schumacher family uh to be able to create this amazing space for fans so it's uh it's quite an honor
06:13to
06:13be able to do it for michael how do you have the idea to found this beautiful lounge well the
06:20actual idea
06:21started about three years ago we were driving back from the belgian grand prix uh myself and uh
06:26richard one of the uh the co-founders and we just had an idea and so in the drive between
06:32uh spa
06:33francos champ and calais for the shuttle terminal we we just started to bounce around a few ideas
06:37and what we wanted to do we could have created any hospitality but we wanted to create something
06:42that had it had had a reason to exist and yes immersing people in the career of a driver is
06:48key
06:48but we also wanted to give back and so that's why with every driver every team everybody we partner
06:53with we always have a charitable angle because we want to give back we want to give money to people
06:59that need it and that's why we partnered with michael and the keep fighting foundation and in the future
07:04other drivers will bring their own charities and their own foundations and we'll raise money for
07:08them as well and we will give back all the way what's the best memory you have about michael schumacher
07:14wow my best mike my best michael schumacher memory i mean there are just so many i mean it could
07:19have
07:19been some of the dramatic wins it could have been that moment in adelaide that moment in heref but i
07:24think from a personal angle it was actually here at monza uh in 2006 when he announced uh his retirement
07:32from formula one for the first time i happened to be outside uh the unilateral room the press conference
07:38room uh when he walked out afterwards and i shook his hand and i said thank you and he said
07:43okay and
07:43walked off it probably meant nothing to him but to me it was the most amazing moment and i told
07:49everybody have just shook michael schumacher's hand and my friend said you can never wash your hand again
07:53it was it was a very special moment to be able to do that for sure so this is a
07:58beautiful place thank you
