00:08Let's begin with what's happening. A combination of tropical waves and the ITCZ will keep conditions periodically unsettled over the
00:17coming days.
00:18With multiple rounds of activity possible, which began mainly from mid-morning today.
00:23Because of this, an isolated strong thunderstorm developed just east-southeast of Trinidad's northeastern peninsula and tracked northwesterly.
00:33We also saw a few isolated showers offshore of eastern Trinidad moving in the same direction.
00:39Now, over in Tobago, isolated showers affected parts of the southwest and elsewhere.
00:45Skies were generally very cloudy with isolated to widely scattered showers.
00:50Moving on now to tonight, where you can expect generally subtle conditions at first.
00:56But showers will likely develop during the early morning for some areas.
01:00With minimum temperatures at 25 degrees in Trinidad and 26 in Tobago.
01:05And there's a low chance of isolated thunderstorm activity favoring eastern areas.
01:10Now, if you enjoy cooler conditions today, well, I'm happy to let you know that there's more to come.
01:16Tomorrow, expect party cloudy to cloudy skies with periods of showers, especially between mid-morning and late afternoon.
01:24Daytime temperatures will reach up to 32 degrees in Trinidad and 31 in Tobago.

01:33The next two days will keep things cool just like today.
01:36With party cloudy, hazy and windy conditions.
01:39With a few showers favoring the morning and early afternoon, which is expected for Friday and Saturday.

02:19To some international news now, the Nino 1 plus 2 region near the coast of Ecuador
02:25has reached exceptionally warm levels, with sea surface temperatures anomalies
02:31approaching 5 degrees Celsius above average.
02:33Forecasts indicate that El Nino could strengthen further in the coming months,
02:40potentially becoming one of the strongest events on record.
02:44So, what could this mean for the Caribbean and Central America?
02:47El Nino typically brings drier-than-normal conditions to parts of these regions,
02:52increasing the risk of drought and water shortages.
02:55It is also contributing to a below-normal Atlantic hurricane season.
02:59Now, speaking of El Nino, did you know that El Nino doesn't happen every year?
03:05Well, let me explain.
03:06Because El Nino is part of a natural ocean atmospheric cycle called ENSO,
03:12the El Nino Southern Oscillation.
03:14It develops when waters in the Central and Eastern Tropical Pacific
03:18becomes warmer than normal, along with changes in the trade winds.
03:23These conditions take time to build and eventually reverse,
03:26which is why El Nino typically occurs every two to seven years,
03:30rather than on a fixed schedule.
