00:04I first heard about them when I saw a plea go out about two preemie babies that really needed help.
00:11When I saw their picture, they had no hair, they were completely bald, and they were super fragile.
00:17We were really unsure if they were going to make it or not.
00:20Jude and Jake were transported over six hours just to get to Catherine, who is a certified vet tech.
00:25From the second that I met Jake and Jude, they reminded me of two tiny, bald, old men.
00:31Catherine is a certified vet tech and knew these puppies needed help instantly.
00:35Once we got the babies to the hospital, the doctors were very unsure if these were truly preemies or if
00:41they were just hairless.
00:42Although they were fragile, they were not the size of normal preemies.
00:47But once we got them home, they proved pretty quickly that they were going to be fighters.
00:51She had to get up and feed these puppies every two hours, every night.
00:55So I was spending every couple hours tube feeding them, round the clock, all night long.
01:02It is two in the morning.
01:05The human baby is out to sleep.
01:08So let's get this feeding done for the puppies before she wakes up.
01:14Time to put the babies back to bed.
01:17They want the not so happy.
01:21And since they were hairless, she had to make sure that their skins did not get too dry.
01:27I'd have to give them little coconut massages each day.
01:30We had to make sure that the humidity was pretty high.
01:34Catherine not only had puppies to look after, but she also has a couple month old daughter who absolutely loves
01:39the puppies.
01:41Catherine's daughter is always around to learn how important it is to care for puppies in need.
02:00The puppies eventually started getting bigger and bigger.
02:03And next thing you know, they were ready to get adopted to their forever home.
02:05But watching Jake and Jude get stronger each day made it completely worth it.
02:10Their eyes started opening.
02:12Their bellies were getting really chunky.
02:13They started playing like puppies.
02:16They were still mostly bald, still looking like old men, but they were completely thriving.
02:22And eventually, both Jake and Jude went into their foster homes and were adopted.
