00:02A man suspected of killing his wife and two daughters in England appeared in a
00:07Johannesburg courthouse on Thursday. Dodana Mianisi Chuma is a British citizen
00:13of Zimbabwean origin and his extradition hearing has now been postponed. He has
00:20admitted unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition in South Africa.
00:2645-year-old Chuma was arrested back in July in a Johannesburg suburb in an
00:31operation involving South African police and Interpol. A relative living abroad
00:38contacted authorities in the UK after not hearing from the family for several days.
00:43The bodies of his wife and children aged 15 and 5 were then discovered at the family
00:48home near Bedford north of the British capital. According to documents from the
00:55coroner's office they died from head injuries. The Independent Office for
01:01Police Conduct is now looking into the forces contact with the family ahead of
01:05their deaths.
