00:02Well, preparations are well and truly in their final stages here at the MCG ahead of tomorrow's
00:08historic NFL clash. And that has been eight months of preparations all leading up to tomorrow.
00:15And not only will the MCG behind me be transformed into an American football stadium, but this
00:21entire Yarra Park precinct will also be given the full American makeover. Now that includes
00:26a new name, it's going to be Stadium Campus for tomorrow. It also includes a number of new
00:32security measures. So rather than ticket holders walking up to the gates of the MCG here tomorrow,
00:38like a usual football game, they will be met with one of eight of these entrances here. So this
00:43entire precinct will be locked down from 7am in the morning for non-ticket holders. And ticket holders
00:51will come into this entrance. They're being encouraged to come nice and early to avoid those
00:55lines. Once they make it to the front of the line here, they will be met with this security
01:00entrance, which is enforcing strict NFL policies. And that includes a no bags policy except for
01:07clear bags only. So that is any clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bags that are under 30 centimetres
01:15by 30 centimetres. So really small bags there. And there are a number of prohibited items that
01:21will be chucked out at this entrance here if you do try to bring them through. So that list includes
01:25all of the usual suspects, like anything that resembles a weapon, alcohol, any flares or fireworks.
01:31But there are also some surprises in there. So you can't bring any food in here. You can't bring
01:35prams or nappy bags. So it is really worth going to NFL's website to check out that prohibited items
01:41list to avoid getting them taken away from you here at the gate. Now Victoria Police are also
01:47increasing their safety measures tomorrow. There will be specialist police roaming this precinct
01:54and they'll be armed with semi-automatic weapons and that'll be bolstering the police presence here.
02:00So there'll be hundreds of general police officers as well as mounted police and public order response
02:05teams. And that is really, and they'll be out in force across Melbourne, not just here in the
02:11precinct from the early hours of the morning right into the evening. So it really is quite a show of
02:16force, quite a show of security here in Melbourne. But the overwhelming message is not to be alarmed
02:22by the increased security, rather to make sure that everyone enjoys their game day, but also makes
02:28the police at home safely afterwards.
