00:01I volunteer for a small organisation, a charity named Helping ACT, and our three principal
00:09areas that we help with food security have certainly seen some expansion and more people
00:16accessing them.
00:17The demographic is fairly broad.
00:19Our community dinners, we see very young people, very old people and lots of families.
00:26For our weekly food program, lots of students, young people access it and our school programs,
00:34more schools have come on board asking for assistance and so we're accessing more students
00:41as well.
00:41Anybody who is affected by rents, for example, you'd expect to find it really tough and so
00:49sometimes food is the thing that they have to give up when times are tough and so we
00:54work in the space of trying to help people who are really just food insecure.
00:59Just the cost of living in general people talk about as the main reason that they're struggling.
01:05The charity I work for is quite small and we rely on donations completely and fundraising,
01:12so any support to help small groups, there's many groups across the community doing the
01:18types of work we do and so any support to help them would be welcome.
01:23A number I couldn't actually put on it but we spend a considerable amount just in our small
01:29charity on food for the community.
