What if next year’s health benefit costs increase enough to eat away at the money you spend at the grocery store? Well, Mercer just put a number on it. Employer health cost per worker is expected to go up about 8.2% in 2027 — and that would be the biggest jump since 2003.

That jump is also after companies already planned cost cuts. Without those cuts, they said the increase would be closer to 11%. And about two-thirds of large employers expect to push a bigger share of the premium back to the employee. So the benefits packet might look good on paper for the corporation, but the small guy is going to feel it like a second rent.

Money stress doesn’t stay in the wallet. It’ll show up in your sleep and in your snack habits. And in a body that stays inflamed and insulin-resistant, that same loop can turn into forever medical spending.

And a forever-prescription story? That’s the really expensive ending.

There’s another option. Protect your paycheck by fixing the biology that keeps turning stress into a pharmacy bill.

Let’s get healthy together.
