00:00Would you go get Michael King?
00:01Is that going to make you feel good if you don't get Tarek School?
00:05No.
00:05Let's start there.
00:07When you look at a couple things for Michael,
00:09because the Mets have shown interest in Michael King.
00:11This wouldn't be the first time that they did that, Dex, right?
00:14You know, they've done this last offseason.
00:16They did it one other year as well.
00:18170 innings this season as a three-year Ray flat.
00:21The expected numbers aren't great, though, which is not surprising
00:24because Michael's dealt with ailment on and off.
00:26Let's not forget that.
00:27He had a K per nine, the worst of his career as a starter thus far at 7.7,
00:32had a walks per nine of three and a half.
00:33I think Michael Cain, while he would be a nice add,
00:36you take so much more risk with him because he's a bit of a ticking time mom.
00:41He's not nearly as much of a certainty in health,
00:43and that's why his contract is structured the way that it is with the Padres.
00:48That's the reason why he initially signed with them for the AV that he did,
00:52and that's a bit backloaded the way that he is,
00:54depending on if he opts out or not.
00:55Or, I'm sorry, it's not overly backloaded.
00:58That's likely he likely will opt out.
01:00But Michael Cain is someone who I think makes sense
01:03when you look at New York market.
01:04There's the Clay Holmes similarity as another former Yankee reliever
01:08turned starter having success,
01:10especially Michael Cain has been very good in his career,
01:12but he would not be a needle mover
01:15the way that the Mets would need Scoobble to be a needle mover.
