00:00Congratulations, Corbin Burns, for coming back.
00:02What's he going to throw, Tom?
00:0420 pitches?
00:05I mean, what's that pitch count going to be here?
00:08You're going to have to get to the bullpen by what?
00:11The fourth inning, third inning, fourth inning?
00:13Right.
00:14He had a start with the Rivercats where he threw 27 pitches,
00:20if I remember correctly.
00:20Then he had a bullpen session on September 4th where he threw 46 pitches.
00:26So we're talking about, what, four days rest?
00:29He should be at, like, 55 tonight.
00:31Probably 55 tonight, maybe 60 if he's extremely efficient.
00:34But after that, we're getting five innings of the Diamondbacks bullpen
00:37in a place where it's 95 degrees with the wind blowing out.
00:41I like the Royals' team total over.
00:43Yeah.
00:44Good to see him back.
00:45Don't get me wrong.
00:46Sure.
00:47But we are good to see him back.
00:49But, I mean, that bullpen of the Diamondbacks has had to pitch, I think,
00:52every day for the last two weeks, Tom.
00:54That bullpen is getting gassed because of the situation they find themselves in.
00:59And it just feels like, oh, boy, buckle up in Kansas City.
01:03Another hot night.
01:04Total at nine, nine and a half.
01:06Yeah, that could be definitely runs in this spot here.
01:10But it's good to see that Arizonas can make a push here with Corbin Burns.
01:15I'd love to see them.
01:16You know, if they can make the postseason, it would be great.
01:19But I just don't – what do you think you're going to get?
01:22You have no idea what you're going to get over the first couple of weeks besides rust.
01:26I think that's safe to say, no?
01:28It is.
01:29And I can't – listen, they're a favorite tonight.
01:32It's minus 120.
01:33It's not like we're paying some dramatic price.
01:35I still wouldn't lay it.
01:36If you want to bet the Diamondbacks, you just better wait in-game, right?
01:40Wait for in-game.
01:40Wait until you get actual plus money on them.
01:43Are the Diamondbacks the better team compared to the Royals?
01:45Yes, but I'm not going to be betting into the line on the Diamondbacks knowing I don't know what I'm
01:50going to get from Corbin Burns.
01:51If he goes out there for three innings and gives up five runs, I'm not going to be shocked.
01:54If he pitches two innings and struggles with pitch count and gets to 55 but he gives up no runs,
01:59I'm also not going to be shocked.
02:01So the range of outcomes for Corbin Burns' time is way, way too big for me to have any level
02:07of comfort.
02:07I need to see at least one or two starts.
02:09And frankly, to your point, I think he could be a really solid addition for them down the line.
02:13And if they push into the postseason, getting five innings out of him or four innings is a huge boost
02:18for their pitching staff,
02:19which has been riddled with injuries.
02:21Him and Brandon Fott as the one-two could be really nice.
02:26I think it could work out really well for them, but they're going to have to make sure to handle
02:32business here down the stretch.
02:34And we know that the Padres don't have maybe one of the easiest schedules down the road here of trying
02:41to finish out the season.
02:43So Arizona is going to have to handle their business.
02:46Padres have the Nats tonight.
02:48And all of a sudden, Casey Mize is realizing the American League wasn't so bad because the National League is
02:54tattooing him all over the place.
