00:00I don't know that the athletics will be part of that conversation, but they are taking
00:05on the Royals at Coffman Stadium, and you and I were just laughing.
00:10They got an opener now, the athletics.
00:11They are so bad, and even we said it last night with Walk on the Mount.
00:16When the Royals are a minus 190 favorite against anybody, you know it's likely they're playing
00:23a AAA team, and they won big last night.
00:27They're likely going to win big again tonight.
00:30I don't want to run and lay a run and a half with home teams who are only going to
00:34get
00:34up with aided bats, Craig, but who are we kidding here?
00:38They're really starting to hit the ball, the Royals, at home.
00:41Yeah, I ain't laying 170 with Lynch on the mound, although he's been fantastic for them.
00:48Yeah, as we talked about, the A's are just an absolute mess, and the pitching is not going
00:53to get any better for them tonight.
00:54Lynch has been pretty good for Kansas City.
00:57I would expect the Royals to win.
00:59And I do not think the A's have a chance in this one.
01:02The A's playing without Nick Kurtz, without Soderstrom, without Langoliers.
01:06I think last night I saw Jeff McNeil leading off for the A's.
01:12They did not think that would have to be the case this late into the season.
01:16But here we are.
01:17The A's, and he's a recognizable name.
01:19Nothing against Jeff McNeil.
01:20He's had a great career.
01:22But they're in a world of hurt right now.
01:26And look, you never want to say that a team has quit and they don't care.
01:30They are playing, Joe, as bad as a team looks like they are just ready to go golfing in October.
01:37You know, like it looks over for them.
01:38So, you know, as we talked about yesterday, there are 30, let's say, 36, 37 games left.
01:46And the A's are going to win five or six.
01:49Like, that's a lock.
01:50That's it.
01:50They're not going to lose them all.
01:51But we just don't know when they're going to come.
01:53And eventually they're going to kill you.
01:55I don't think tonight is that night, though.
01:58They'll pull off some magical win before the end of the year and win a few.
02:02But they're going to finish with the worst record in baseball.
02:05They're going to lose probably 110 games.
02:07And this is after them being above 500 in April.
02:10You don't see teams lose 100 games after being above 500 after the first month.
02:15But they were.
02:17And on the flip side, don't sleep on the Royals.
02:21We know they're not going anywhere quickly.
02:23But they did get Garcia back last night.
02:26Had a huge night for him.
02:28He's a good player.
02:28He came back last night, too, after missing three weeks.
02:33And all of a sudden, Witt's hitting home runs.
02:36You know, yeah.
02:37You got Carter Janney.
02:38You got Garcia.
02:40If Gagnon could ever figure it out, it would be great.
02:43But, yeah, I think this team's more than capable of scoring some runs here, though.
02:47No?
02:48Especially at home.
02:49They're not a good.
02:49Yeah, but Kansas City's not good.
02:51It's just they're playing the A's.
02:52And the A's are just so miserable that they're going to lose two out of three or get swept
02:55in almost every series the rest of the season.
02:57So, everybody just sweeps the A's.
02:59And it's the get-right time now for Kansas City.
03:01But let's not get it twisted.
03:02Kansas City, all they're playing for is spoiler at this point.
03:05But, look, Kansas City has games against the White Sox.
03:08They have games against Cleveland.
03:09And they have games against Minnesota remaining.
03:11So, naturally, they're going to play a part as to who wins that division.
03:15But I just wouldn't overrate what you're seeing right now.
03:19Because, I mean, do the A's, like, I guess I would ask this question.
03:24They, right now, with their current roster, they have 26 men on the roster.
03:29Would you say that 10 of the 26 guys, as I'm looking at it here, would you say 10 would
03:34be playing for other teams in the big leagues, currently active?
03:38I'm going to say no.
03:39I'm going to say that's how bad they are.
03:42Maybe five.
03:43Three quarters of that lineup is AAA players.
03:46That's all they are.
03:47At least.
03:47They're AAA guys.
03:49And pitching.
03:49They're not.
03:50And pitching.
03:50Yes, same thing.
03:52The pitching in the bullpen, we knew that, too.
03:54But if I'm looking to play, and I don't need to play wins and losses, if I get Kansas City
04:00at three and a half or four and a half team total runs against inferior in pitching, I'm
04:06taking the Royals to score some runs in some games in the final 36-37.
04:11I agree with that.
04:12They're healthier now.
04:13Oh, wow.
04:14Yes.
04:15And I think they can score some runs.
04:18Nine last night.
04:18I think they can score the same year tonight against what's amounting to be a bullpen game
04:24for the Athletics.
04:26See you next time.
