Kevin Richardson returns to the sanctuary after a short break and is greeted by lions, leopards and hyenas in one of those rare, heartwarming wildlife reunions. From Bobcat’s rough leg and a planned tooth extraction, to Gabby’s ringworm treatment and a quick check on the hyena clan, the visit mixes animal care with the familiar bond between Kevin and the predators he knows so well.

The hyenas are calm and surprisingly friendly, with Vince, Kito, Tika, Luxa and Neba all coming up for a look, while Bobcat gets a close inspection and a new cat brush. Then it’s over to the resident black leopards, Juk and Khan, who are eager for attention and an overdue treat of pilchards in tomato sauce. This is a grounded wildlife sanctuary video with close-up animal behaviour, predator care, and natural interaction.

For viewers who enjoy lion whisperer videos, big cat sanctuary content, hyena clan encounters, leopard feeding scenes, and wildlife rehabilitation, this episode offers a calm but engaging look at life with predators. It is ideal for animal lovers searching for wildlife documentaries, sanctuary visits, big cat behaviour, and real-life human-animal connection.

00:00How was your Christmas and New Year? Hey, were you well behaved?
00:05And these guys are super excited to see me.
00:10Nice demonstration, Lukey. All right, good morning everyone.
00:14Um, so I have been away for a couple of weeks and it's my first day back at the sanctuary.
00:20Super excited to see the animals. I hope they're excited to see me. Let's go and see Bobcat and
00:26Gabby. Hello little boy, look at you in that long grass, eh? Come out of the grass, my boy.
00:33Yeah, I want to have a good look at you. I want to have a good look at you, my
00:38big boy.
00:41Hello, my boy. Hello, my boy. How are you, my boy? Eh? Who's my boy?
00:52Who's my boy? Hello, my boy. How's it going? Eh? I see you sat down very quickly.
01:00I see you sat down very quickly, eh? I see you sat down very quickly, eh?
01:06Yeah. This is my boy. How is that back doing, eh? Shame, my boy.
01:27I see you sat down very quickly, I see you sat down very quickly, I see you sat down very
01:27quickly.
01:27Put that here.
01:39Look what I brought you. Look what I brought you. Your cat brush, hmm. Bobcat's cat brush.
01:55Oh, yeah. Where's the Gabbalicious? Hmm? I don't like what I see there.
02:02It looks like a bit of ringworm. That I don't like. We'll have to keep an eye on that.
02:27It looks like a bit of ringworm.
02:44Tight today, eh?
02:47What's your say, Bobcat? Hmm? What'd you say?
02:52Good boy. Nice to see you, my boy.
02:59I hope that isn't what I think it is.
03:03Where's that Gabby? Is she coming? Eh?
03:09Oh, that one's not looking good.
03:14That one's not looking good, my boy. Eh?
03:17When we do your tooth, we're going to have to do your claws. Hmm?
03:25So guys, that claw there. I don't know if you can see.
03:34Yeah, I want to see. Yeah, there you go. Can you see that?
03:38Okay. So guys, Bobcat is going to have to have a tooth extracted next week.
03:46So Peter will be coming out. We're going to have a look at that claw as well, but the tooth
03:52is here.
03:53Um, it seems to have healed up here though. Oh no, it doesn't. Let me see.
04:01It does look like it's healed up, my boy.
04:14Wow. It looks like it's healed up, but what we'll do is we do have to do this claw.
04:21So I think we can give him a thorough checkup and just make sure that that
04:35that that tooth isn't all necrotic there and rotting the jaw away because it was oozing.
04:43You can see that little mark there. So there was a little hole there and it kept on oozing out
04:50of
04:50that hole. So we've had him on antibiotics and we've been trying to clear up that infection,
04:55which we've successfully done. But I suppose the question is, is will it
05:03will it just persist? But that will be a Peter question and we'll be doing that next week, my boy.
05:12How was your Christmas and New Year? Were you well behaved? Hey, my big boy, were you well behaved?
05:27Oh my kids. Gabby! Gabby, no! No! Gabby!
05:40Oh, it's not even five seconds and we're screaming at Gabby. Gabby!
05:49Oh, look there, my boy.
05:54Yeah, I can see that leg's not good, my boy.
05:58Oh, that leg is sore. That leg is sore.
06:03All right guys, so while we get all the antifungal ointments that we need to treat this ringworm,
06:16I am going to quickly apply some of the germicidal cream that was part of the previous regime
06:27because at least that'll start the process.
06:31Good boy.
06:34Hello, my boy.
06:37Look here.
06:38Oh, whoa, whoa.
06:41Okay, there.
06:57There we go.
06:59There we go.
07:01On your leg there.
07:07Okay, he doesn't like the taste of that.
07:09Sorry, my boy.
07:12All right, so he does it.
07:14The initial like taste of it is not nice,
07:19but he'll get used to it.
07:21And then once he understands what I'm trying to do,
07:25then it'll be a lot easier.
07:27But yeah, this is going to be a tricky one because it's on his face.
07:37I must say, guys, honestly, it's hard enough treating ringworm on a lion that you can interact with.
07:47Now, I must just tell you, a lion that doesn't want to know you.
07:52Wow, it's a real, real problem treating a ringworm outbreak.
08:00So yeah, contrary to popular belief, ringworm is not a worm.
08:06It is a fungus and he is not happy.
08:10Fungus likened to athlete's foot.
08:13So if you've ever had athlete's foot, you know it is a bugger.
08:17And it is, yeah, it's not easy to get rid of.
08:24Fungus likened to athlete's foot.
08:31The hyena boys.
08:57Nice demonstration, Luki.
08:59Nice demonstration, Luki.
09:07Nice demonstration, Luki.
09:08Nice demonstration, Luki.
09:32You can't do it since the history of a lion.
09:32Kito, walking away, there's Luke, and here is Tiko, and I must just say, that was,
09:51I must just say that was one of the friendliest, nicest greetings that I've had
09:58in a long time from this clan, and yeah, maybe the saying, absence makes the heart grow fonder,
10:09is a true statement in this case, because certainly this guy, who's normally full of beans,
10:21was actually super friendly, which is very nice to see.
10:28I think things in the clan, have been calm.
10:33Sorry, just got a little bit of hyena snot on the lens.
10:38One thing the rain does do, is it just brings out the flies, so today is going to be
10:48probably a lot of fly treatment day.
10:56He's trying to back into me here, tick tick, hello my boy, yeah guys, yeah yeah, hello my boys,
11:07yeah, don't get jealous. Oh those flies love to get in your hair.
11:22So Luke is just waiting on the periphery, um, to kind of get his chance.
11:37And ticker, he's saying, not today pal.
11:58Okay, so it's blisteringly hot this morning, still early, but incredibly hot.
12:24And I can see, it just come up.
12:31Good look at Vince.
12:34So we have Vince, we have Keto, we have Ticker, we have Lukster, and we have Nyaber.
12:45The only one we're missing is Bongo, and he won't come up.
12:49But I'm super impressed with, with Vincey.
12:51He's, yeah, from bottom dog, suddenly Vince is the Mats Nats.
12:59Hey, the Mats Nats, Vince.
13:02Look at you guys, look at you.
13:18Okay guys, awesome to see you.
13:24Awesome to see you guys.
13:27Naya, you see, he's much more tolerant.
13:29Okay, maybe not so much.
13:38But a lot more tolerant, um, of Luke.
13:48If, if I'd have come in here all excited and riled them up,
13:54Luke would have bore the brunt of that.
13:56Um, and that's why with hyenas it's not this high-pitched
14:02talk, because that's a surefire way to get them all riled up and excited.
14:07And then things get chaotic, because then they feel the need,
14:11uh, to put individuals in their places.
14:14So, today's gone really, really well.
14:18Um, these guys are getting along amazingly well.
14:23And, uh, that's fantastic.
14:25So, on to see the next group.
14:29Okay, so next up, we're going to be visiting Duke and Khan, uh,
14:37resident black leopards, uh, 15 years of age.
14:41So, also getting on, and he absolutely knows
14:46that I'm here.
14:49They've seen me with the hyenas.
14:52And now they are wanting,
14:57now they're wanting their greeting.
15:01But more than that, guys, they're wanting their pilchards.
15:04So, I think first of all, it's going to be a greeting.
15:09And these guys are super excited to see me.
15:13It's fantastic.
15:15Hello guys!
15:17They're looking in really, really good nick.
15:21And so, leopards, um, of this age are getting on, getting on in age.
15:30But because leopards are lighter boned and, you know, less robust than a lion,
15:39they tend to weather the storm of old age a lot better.
15:43So, even though they are getting on in age,
15:46uh, both Khan and Duke are in remarkable condition.
16:05Come, let him up, boy.
16:09Don't you hiss at him?
16:11Why are you hissing at him?
16:34Why are you hissing at him?
16:35Smelling the hyenas.
16:39Disapproval.
16:46Contrable.
17:14Davidесс.
17:22Oh, my God.
17:46Oh, my God.
17:53Oh, my God.
18:11Yeah, to say that these two love pilchards and tomato sauce is an understatement.
18:26Look at that, how quickly those pilchards got demolished.
18:47Okay, so that's actually what they were waiting for.
18:53Pilchards have been long overdue.
18:55It's been a couple of weeks since they've had their tasty treat.
19:00And yeah, they've absolutely destroyed a can of pilchards.
19:37Yeah, I think they've been doing an understatement.
19:40All right.
