01:16Venezuela Net Empresa Anderson Rodríguez led the signing of the hydrocarbon participation contract for

01:22Bloque Barret with Colombian Gilinski Group. The ceremony included the strategic importance of the agreement

01:28for bilateral cooperation between Venezuela and Colombia and the shared commitment to

01:33responsible and sustainable development. The President highlighted that the 25-year agreement

01:39is part of a broader national recovery plan for the oil industry. It may add increasing social benefits

01:45such as education, health and improved living conditions for the Venezuelan people. For his part,

01:51Jaime Gilinski, CEO of Gilinski Group, highlighted that investment reflects long-term confidence in Venezuela's future,

01:58focusing on environmental standards, community welfare and technical discipline.

02:13I am grateful because the interest shown in our country is a good sign. The interest demonstrated in

02:19investing in Venezuela by such a serious group as the one belonging to Mr. Jaime is a great indication of

02:25the confidence that exists in the country, in its laws and in its regulations. And I am very moved that

02:32it is a

02:32Colombian company that joins this plan for the recovery of our oil industry to increase production for

02:38the benefit of the people. I have said it before, every barrel must translate into well-being, into schools,

02:45health care, food, wages and the happiness of the people.

02:53In this context, Jaime Gilinski, head of the Gilinski Group, has shown that the Bloque Barret

02:59project will be developed responsibly with high environmental standards.

03:06This development will be carried out responsibly, responsible with the environment, applying the highest

03:11environmental management standards that we have implemented in each of our blocks, responsible with

03:16the communities of the Orinoco Belt, who must see in this project a source of progress, decent employment

03:21and well-being, and responsible with Venezuela as a nation, understanding that well-managed oil is

03:26as a development tool for millions of families.

03:30Venezuela is the president.

03:32Su Rodriguez also signed an agreement with Miyamoto International regarding

03:36structural engineering and seismic risk management. The acting head of the state signed a service

03:42provision contract for the emergency debris removal and recovery program phase one between the

03:48Venezuelan government and Miyamoto International, represented by its founder and CEO, Dr. Kit Miyamoto.

03:55The agreement signed alongside Sectorial Vice President of Public Works and Services, Juan José Ramírez,

04:02establishes firm cooperation and technical assistance to address the aftermath of the

04:06earthquakes that destroyed the country on June 24. The agreement reinforces Venezuela's commitment to

04:12sustainable urban development, international technology transfer and the strengthening of state

04:18capabilities to reveal affected areas and improve living conditions for the people.

04:28This is actually very important one, because essentially the, well, we've been working with the government for

04:34quite a long time now, you know, and, but next phase is the debris removable, and this is so critical.

05:02So, we are actually bringing the capacity of Venezuela, the private sector, that's exactly the whole thing here, to make

05:10it, to really assist the people here in Venezuela.

05:15Venezuela's acting president, José Rodríguez, stated that the new oil contract signed up will shape the country's energy development.

05:21During the meeting with oil industry workers, the acting president highlighted the bilateral agreements with Repsol, Eni, Shell and companies

05:29from the United Arab Emirates and Qatar.

05:32Furthermore, Rodríguez explained that 80% of the world's oil and 90% of its gas come from fields that

05:38have already reached their peak production and that 90% of global investments are dedicated to maintaining them.

05:44In addition, Aptim president, Darcy Rodríguez, asserted that the scale of the 50 agreements, INET will help position the country

05:53in the international energy landscape.

06:07As you know, we went through a lot. It was very tough, but with your help,

06:12we found ingenious solutions. Thanks to you, we recovered production.

06:16As the president of Pirevisa said, we produced 1.2 million barrels in December.

06:21This has been achieved through our own effort, the effort of our workers.

06:28Now, imagine the magnitude of the 50 agreements that have been signed and their potential impact on oil and gas

06:34production.

06:38It has been my dream since President Maduro appointed me Minister of Hydrocarbons.

06:46I said, we are going to become a gas-exporting country, and we started exporting the first gas molecules.

06:53However, we are also going to become a gas and petrochemical powerhouse.

06:58These are dreams, but we will make them a reality.

07:03Our children will see them, and our children's children will live them,

07:08because we are shaping the future of our homeland.

07:15In an exclusive interview with Telesur, PDVSA Vice President Giovanni Martinez explained that

07:21the recent reform of the organic hydrocarbon law has succeeded in maximizing foreign investment.

07:27In this regard, Martinez showed that Venezuela will guarantee that the agreement with foreign investors

07:32is fulfilled and remains in effect. He also explained that the process involves investment in land development

07:38and the installation of pipelines, while the Venezuelan state will earn $19 per barrel

07:45for providing clear conditions and support. The South American country is working to revive the oil industry,

07:51entering into agreements to achieve substantial profits among partners.

08:03The agreements we are signing at the moment are based on a single principle,

08:07which is to give value to the reserves we have in the subsurface. This establishes a basic principle

08:13for us of profit, to convert them into commercial value. What does it mean to win from the other side?

08:20It is an agreement, the other side, that wins. The other side also wins energy security in terms of consumption.

08:27We and the world have become the epicenter that equalizes the need for crude oil to the world.

08:33As the president said yesterday, oil in the world today spends much more to maintain little,

08:39and here we need to invest to develop all the reserves we have.

08:47Also by the vice president, Giovanni Martinez explained that the country aims to become

08:52the world's largest oil producer.

08:58All of America needs oil, all of America. The Western Hemisphere is going to need a lot

09:05of energy in the coming years. And the energy that hydrocarbons are going to need is here in Venezuela.

09:14Countries that don't have oil, even countries that don't have an oil culture,

09:18are going to come here to Venezuela and say, Venezuela needs your oil. Colombia,

09:23we just signed an agreement with a Colombian company that is coming to invest here in Venezuela,

09:27because we know that Colombia needs gas. And the gas is also going to be here.

09:32The oil that they need is going to be here. So all of this in terms of numbers,

09:37when we compare Venezuela with the other five countries with the largest amount of reserves,

09:42we have to honor the fact that we are the first country in the world.

09:45To stop saying that we are the largest oil reserve country in the world, that we have enough oil.

09:51No, we have to start now, to create that new history, to start saying that we are the country

09:56with the largest oil production in the world.

10:03In addition, for the rest of the vice president, Giovanni Martinez,

10:06explained that based on statements by Aptin president, Sergio Rodriguez,

10:10regarding the Venezuelan government's expected revenues as a result of recent international

10:15oil agreements, specifically the recent for the amount shared by the national executive.

10:21Look, this is simple for people to understand. Very simple. The price of a barrel of crude oil has

10:27a value. In our case, it's based on an international crude oil benchmark, the Brent. Because Brent is a

10:34high-quality crude, ours is compared to it, and there's already a natural discount. On that basis,

10:41then we start saying, OK, take away the capex, take away the opex, take away the profits,

10:46and what's left? The profit. That's why people say, look, but I sold at 65 a barrel when it was

10:52at 60,

10:53so why are we getting 19? Ah, but that's free. It comes out of thin air. Who buys the pipeline?

10:59Who

10:59invests? PDVSA isn't investing, nor is the Venezuelan government, and that's the big payoff. The investor

11:06comes in to put their money in. We're not putting in a single cent. We're providing the reserves they need.

11:12And mind you, it's not that they get them for free. They need them, and they have to produce them,

11:17they have to work them. And we, without doing anything, literally without doing anything,

11:23just by overseeing the process and setting clear terms for the agreement, are earning taxes and

11:28making 19 per barrel. Are these additional earnings or actual revenue? Additional earnings,

11:34of course, so it's a great deal, it's a great agreement. And here I use the word business,

11:39business, because that's exactly what it is. The investor comes to put money in to make money,

11:44and we're putting up the reserves to make money for the Venezuelan state.

12:09Welcome back. A powerful explosion at a military facility in Biasha, Bolivia left two people dead,

12:15seven missing and dozens injured among civilians and service members. Health authorities mobilized

12:20ambulances to treat 81 wounded, including minors and two patients in critical condition,

12:25following the blast. The Defense Ministry cited an accidental detonation of stored pyrotechnic material,

12:33while local residents claimed finding military great debris at the site. Bolivian President

12:38Rodrigo Paz ordered a thorough investigation into the incident, while the local municipality declared

12:44three days of official murder. In this context, the Bolivian Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation

12:56into the crimes of negligent homicide, negligent injury and property damage in order to identify

13:02those responsible following the explosion in Biasha. Staff from the Institute of Forensic Investigations and

13:09specialized personnel traveled through the affected area to begin the inspection process. At the same

13:15time, the Bolivian police deployed officers to secure the entire perimeter and ensure that evidence

13:21is not tampered with. Separately, the Ministry of Defense stated that it will conduct an assessment

13:27development of the buildings near the explosion so that families can return to their homes.

13:37We are launching an investigation into the crimes of negligent homicide, negligent infliction of bodily

13:44injury and other charges. A team from the Institute of Forensic Investigations has been deployed to the scene,

13:51consisting of forensic experts and qualified medical professionals. Working jointly with the Bolivian police,

13:59they have successfully recovered two bodies, which will be transported to the Public Prosecutor's Office

14:04in La Mora to undergo the respective autopsies. A federal lawmaker from Mexico's ruling Morena Party was

14:12founded Friday inside a parked vehicle on a highway in Veracruz State. State prosecutors confirmed the

14:18discovery of Congressman Saint Jacen Escobar García, noting a firearm was recovered inside the vehicle.

14:25Federal authorities have taken over the inquiry, while officials refrained from declaring the

14:31cause of death as homicide-pending forensic results. Escobar previously served as State Education Secretary

14:38before his 2024 election to Congress amid growing security concerns for public officials across Mexico.

14:52With Brazil's presidential election less than one month off, Brazil's far right mounted an attack

14:58against the Supreme Court Justice, who presided over the Jair Bolsonaro conviction this week.

15:08This week, after presidential candidate Flavio Bolsonaro was exposed lying about a $1.6 million gift from jailed

15:15and Banco Master owner, Daniel Vorcaro, Supreme Court Justice André Mendonça, a Jair Bolsonaro nominee,

15:22leaked text messages sent from Vorcaro to another justice, Alexandre de Moraes.

15:27This story pushed Bolsonaro's scandal off the headlines. The next day,

15:32the messages were shown to have been unanswered, and Mendonça got caught up in his own scandal.

15:37André Mendonça is the presiding judge over the Banco Master investigation. My reporting shows that,

15:45before he took on this role, he held secret conversations and meetings with Daniel Vorcaro.

15:52As Paulo Modarin's story on Mendonça's secret meetings viralized across multiple news platforms,

15:58a new scandal broke. Evidence showed that he'd illegally ordered two federal police officers

16:03to prepare a dossier on Supreme Court Justice Alexandre de Moraes, the target of the Trump

16:08administration's Magnitsky sanctions, who presided over the Jair Bolsonaro trial.

16:14Mendonça didn't request Chief Justice Fakon to open an investigation. He opened his own. This was his

16:20big mistake. He transformed himself into a federal police chief. He ordered them to prepare a report for

16:27him. And it is because of this procedural violation that Attorney General Ghané is declaring it null and

16:33void. With elections only a month off, lawmakers are accusing Mendonça of conflict of interest and

16:39pressuring Supreme Court President Edson Fashin to pull him off the Banco Master case.

16:46The issue isn't simply whether Mendonça met with Vorcaro. The public needs to know if someone who has

16:51had this amount of secret interaction with the jailed banker and his cronies remains qualified to

16:56preside over the Banco Master investigation with the standards of professional impartiality that

17:00this function requires. According to the federal police, Banco Master embezzled over 12 billion

17:26Authorities in Hawaii in the United States declared a state of emergency in response to the threat of a direct

17:32Category 4 Hurricane Lowell. Hawaiian government declared a state of alert throughout the archipelago

17:38following the rapid intensification of Hurricane Lowell, which is recording sustained winds of 240

17:44kilometers per hour. The National Hurricane Center warns that the cyclone will approach the western island

17:50between the afternoon and evening of Monday, September 7. Authorities are mobilizing rapid response

18:33was rescued from a damaged house in Nungwakot after being found submerged in mud. Both survivors were taken to

18:41nearby hospital for treatment. Rescue teams are also searching at a dozen hydropower projects where about 900 workers

18:48remain missing, including 500 believe trapped in tunnels. The disaster has claimed to live 1,375 lives,

18:55while more than 5,000 people remain missing.

19:40The UN condemned the massive forced displacement of Palestinians in the occupied West Bank,

19:45and the various aggressions perpetrated by the Israeli regime. The UN emphasized that Israel's

19:51iron-walled military offensive has caused the death of thousands of civilians. The organization

19:55explained that such practices could constitute a form of collective punishment which threatens possible

20:02ethnic cleansing and therefore must be investigated so that those responsible are held accountable under

20:08the law. As part of the siege against the Palestinian people, the Sunni's army has

20:12obstructed the delivery of humanitarian aid and is conducting armed operations to force the residents

20:17of the camps to abandon their homes.

20:25On Friday, four prisoners adopted by Israel during military operations in southern Lebanon were handed over

20:32to Lebanese authorities. The release group included two Lebanese and two Syrian nationals who were adopted

20:38inside Lebanese territory currently under military occupation. The Lebanese army received the four

20:44abductees through the Red Cross at the Nakura crossing. Among those threatened was Hossein Ayyash, who reported

20:52being seized from our main road, transferred into Israel, and held an imprisonment with virtually no contact

20:59with other detainees. Upon the return, they were met by crowds of relatives.

21:12Hundreds of protesters marched through the streets of Bari to protest the Georgia Meloni government's

21:18policies on military spending, wages, public services, and its stance on Israel. The protesters,

21:23carrying Palestinian flags and critical banners, displayed slogans against Georgia Meloni's administration

21:28in a march that coincided with a milestone for her government, becoming the longest-running

21:34single term in the history of the Italian Republic. The protests brought together more than 500 people,

21:40including pro-Palestinian activists, students, trade unionists, and left-wing groups. During the protests,

21:46Silvio Durso, a member of the Power to the People Party, harshly criticized the government's

21:51handling of the cost of living. In Germany, the automotive company,

22:02Volkswagen, announced the cutting of 100,000 jobs, marking the largest restructuring in the history of

22:09the global automotive industry. Volkswagen Group, management, and the unions reached an agreement to

22:15cut approximately 100,000 jobs by the end of the decade, a measure which represents 50% of its global

22:22workforce, aims to adapt the German giant to the demand for electric vehicles, U.S. tariffs, and Chinese

22:29competition. The company stated that it cannot guarantee the future of four iconic plants in Germany,

22:35opening the door to unprecedented closures in its home market.

22:48In Nigeria, rescue efforts continued for a third consecutive day to save a 10-year-old boy that fell

22:55into an 80-meter deep improvised well in the province of El Bayad. Various rescue teams have conducted a

23:02parallel site excavation to prevent collapses due to the narrow size of the hole, the fragility of the

23:09ground, and the lack of a lining pipe. The incident is strongly reminiscent of the tragedy of Rayan Oran,

23:16the Moroccan boy who died in 2022, under almost identical circumstances and during complex rescue

23:22operations. The case has sparked widespread concerns nationwide, rekindling the debate about the

23:29danger posed by unprotected wells in rural areas.

23:41The Tunisian Court of Cassation upheld final sentences of up to 45 years in prison and charges

23:47of conspiracy. The court rejected the defense's appeals and upheld the sentences against dozens of

23:54politicians, lawyers and business leaders in the case known as Conspiracy against State Security.

24:01Their ruling exhausted the last available legal remedy in the country, setting sentences ranging from

24:07five to five years in prison, in addition to the confiscation of assets. Following the ruling,

24:15some political parties unleashed political persecution by the Tunisian government while relative

24:19of the convicted protesters outside the court in the country's capital.

24:31The United Nations General Assembly has passed an Africa-led resolution to correct historic

24:38cartographic distortions that minimized the continent's true size on world maps. The resolution

24:44passed overwhelmingly with one of the 64 boats in favour while the United States stood alone as they

24:50stole the sole boat against. Backed by the African Union's Correct the Map campaign, the initiative seeks to

24:57dismantle centuries of Mekator projection bias, which visually shrinks Africa and the Global South.

25:05African diplomats stress that equal area maps are crucial for undoing geopolitical misrepresentations

25:11and restoring historical equity.
