00:48early i love the way they do the early conference games it's like instead of everybody basically
00:55waiting three weeks until you get in a conference play well it's not a conference game it's not a
01:00but you know what i mean a big time game big matchup a big match but uh you know one
01:05of the big the big
01:06controversy right now is of course the nfl players you know that they're uh that that uh only lane
01:12kiffin is you know trying to pluck back from practice squads and well listen we know one thing
01:20about we know one thing about dabo sweeney he doesn't love bending the rules all right and so dabo
01:28he comes out and a little haymaker talking about lane kiffin and uh the nfl players coming back to
01:36college whose was uh the clemson head coach i would just say it's kind of embarrassing i mean honestly
01:44this is it's just embarrassing that that's where we are i don't blame the kids uh and people trying
01:50to take advantage of the system i just think it's embarrassing where we are with college football
01:53and we've been there for a while so i just keep my energy and my my focus on and my
01:59energy on the
01:59things that that i control and and the things that matter and that's these kids here and our team
02:04but you know all that outside stuff i mean we just kind of no pun intended we just stay in
02:08our lane
02:08you know uh here here at clemson try to but it's embarrassing i mean it really is you know we
02:13have
02:13no rules there's no governance i mean it's a joke there's zero rules and when you enforce rules
02:20somebody just goes and finds the judge to say no you can't enforce that rule so uh never did i
02:24think
02:25i'd be uh living in an era like this but that's where we are there you go dabo swinney yesterday
02:30getting ready for this lane kiffin um he did have pun intended i think well
02:37the thing is is don't be mad at the universities or the kids be mad at the ncaa
02:47because once they started down this path of being able to go to court to get what they want
02:52then they do it for everything and that's because the ncaa has fought all of these things that are
03:00happening instead of coming up with a plan to realize where football was progressing well i mean
03:07the ncaa is a pretty toothless for a while ever since like the nil took over on governance but i
03:12do
03:12think there's a little bit of you know i think that's why leagues have become the powerful thing
03:18that's why leagues are having to step in like the sec right but the thing that's crazy about it is
03:23most of the sec schools say they're not going to do it um and lane kiffin just like i'm gonna

03:31and you know i don't look at he's shameless he's shameless when it comes to this stuff he does not
03:36care
03:37i mean he leaves his team in the middle of a playoff run he's not exactly bound he doesn't
03:42bind by agreements on these things right so it's just i i do believe that
03:53the ncaa should have had better foresight as to where these leagues and these teams and these
04:00players were going and if they had a better listen so i think if you have a system or governing
04:08body
04:10and the powers that be say you have always been ahead of the game and coming up with plans and
04:19resolutions to all these issues we're not gonna bypass your leadership right and i think there have
04:26been times where judges have done that that if you see the ncaa working and and being progressive
04:34and kind of accommodating all the issues that college football and college sports have been
04:40dealing with then you go to a judge and ask them to go one step farther a judge would be
04:46more inclined
04:46to say you know what they've taken care of this we're going to leave it in their hands but because
04:53they've done nothing and for the last 15 years every decision in college football has come from the
05:02courts then more courts feel obligated to step in and make and make judgments based on that yeah but
05:09i mean sometimes sometimes we do it look at the soresby situation like even with judges like it got
05:13to a point where they couldn't do it you know like it was the blowback was too much and i
05:18do think that
05:18you have to you know you do have to put it aside because we know where the ncaa is we
05:24know that
05:25they've been pretty cash traded for a while now so whoever does have the powers which is basically the
05:31leagues and the networks they have to you know come together and be like hey this is this is at
05:36a
05:36point this this does get ridiculous on keeping this going and i get it as an organization as and i
05:43would
05:43say as a school that i mean until somebody comes up with a rule that means all bets are off

05:55uh as long as everybody abides by it i mean i guess right here we have one standout guy who's
06:01doing it because of the leagues and the and the other the other leagues came on pretty quick to say
06:05hey we don't want this to be a thing we don't want a 30 year old yeah of course played
06:10two years on
06:11practice squad back playing college football yeah i mean it's and and it kind of started in basketball
06:17because you had guys who were on g league teams that were coming back and so like yeah basketball you
06:21do
06:21why can't football do it right but you know i think it just it's it's a matter of also like
06:28shamelessness of like when do you get to a point of like hey do i go back but you know
06:33it's such a
06:34blur it is a blurred line on the idea of like if guys are getting paid better in college and
06:38they are
06:39being on a practice squad and having a scrounge it could be waived any week why not go have at
06:44least
06:44another guaranteed year somewhere else i get it but you know this is uh it just feels like we
06:51find new ways to get dicey with this stuff uh mario cristobal was asked about it this week as well
06:56here's what the canes head coach had to say about it probably in the simplest way we possibly can
07:01every ounce of focus and time into just poured into our players and our preparation for stanford
07:10that simple you know there really is no time in the day think about they played on saturday we play
07:16them friday so it is shorter week you know there's really no time and that stuff we can't control
07:21anyway so it really fits our processes in our approach so that's our best way of approaching
07:26it that's tough not answering the question stanford task at hand task at hand he's got no time for it
07:33no time gotta go beat these smart kids at stanford these nerds that's the epitome of task at hand
07:40right yep yep no time for big picture questions that's nonsense dabble loves a big picture question
07:50marcus ball he doesn't have time for the big picture well right now mario mario answers the
07:56question in a way that would basically say i'm not dealing with that foolishness when you ask dabbo
08:06he goes hold on let me get my box yep and he stands up on the box to talk how
08:13about how clean
08:14and pure yep his school is so that's the two different like mario's like whatever i'm not
08:21dealing with that i'm getting ready for stanford dabbo if he could coach on a soapbox he would
08:26like that's if he could just have the if he could have the hold me back guy just hold me

08:31soapbox but like we put the soapbox on a dolly so he can go back and forth up the sideline

08:37the get me back coach just keeps dabbo on his soapbox the entire time we built this program on
08:43nil we really did it's probably different than what you're thinking though we we built this program
08:48in god's name image and likeness okay great and that's why that's why we haven't heard from you in
08:57last five years i don't know what to tell you buddy right like wait wait you think you're gonna
09:07get a five-star recruit when somebody else can offer him four mil two mil one mil a year the

09:14transfer portal i want to transfer to is the big clouds in the sky it's like all right if he

09:22coaching like that he'll have some free time yeah lane kiffin's i mean like well this is the thing

09:52saying like the only thing that's missing is is clemson running the wishbone pretty much that that

10:07you know but most universities have accepted the fact that if we're gonna put demands on
10:16our coaches if we're gonna put demands on our athletic departments to be successful
10:22these are part of the rules that you're gonna have to assist with otherwise you're making it hard
10:29for those people to do their job we'll take a break yeah you know he's a clown take a break

11:26don't overthink it all you have to do is basically say hey uh i'm rooting for chaos
11:38and you win regardless but to root for one way or the other just root for chaos
11:45crowd of the ghosts let the petty guide you that's usually what happens it's like you just you kind
11:49of just tune in and you're just like it's like this is who you will root against you'll just feel
