The much dreaded and loved conversation of the College Playoffs makes a comeback as we hear from Mario Cristobal when asked about the Notre Dame situation.

00:49deserve to be in too late while saying you deserve to be in so either go after alabama

00:56or don't say nothing because anything you say is gonna look like you have a problem with miami

01:37of how the process played out just wondering if you have any thoughts i don't have any thoughts or

01:42any comment on that my focus effort time energy one thousand percent into the university of my

01:48am both i'm assuming that just i'll just ask this question i'm assuming the answer is the same but

01:53the thought that notre dame decided not to play in a bowl was that something that the university

01:57might have thought about as a scenario if you didn't if the rules were reversed you didn't get in

02:01i would say first and foremost i wouldn't comment on anybody else's situation because you never know

02:06you never know exactly what's up and i have too much respect for football

02:10and for notre dame to comment on their situation as it relates to us um you know we we haven't been

02:16faced with that situation and um we don't ever expect want to or would really allow that situation

02:24to happen but that's again that's not a comment in any way shape or form as it relates to them

02:31you just don't know what each program is going through some programs lose a coach sometimes you're

02:36going to be down a ton of players and people have to make a decision but yeah i don't want

02:40to comment on anybody else's stuff because again that's it's just not my place and it's it would

02:45be disrespectful you know wow top notch class tough great job mark here's what i would say

02:53there's nothing worse than a bunch of grown-ass men that sit on tv and talk about college kids

03:05acting a certain way and not acting like college kids to be fair or not acting professional when

03:15they get one year later in the nfl and then see a grown-ass man who's had a career of supposedly

03:22professionalism behave the way this athletic director has it's crazy um and the fact

03:29that nobody else is saying something but will jump on a kid or an athlete quick as they can

03:40to stand up on their soapbox and say something i think is a joke like you can be upset

03:49about not getting in but the fact that you have gone this route

03:54and say we're not playing in the bowl game and take that away from the other kids who

04:01might be their last opportunity to play college football everybody's not going to the nfl

04:07and take away that opportunity from them because you got your feelings hurt yes it's crazy yes and and

04:15the fact that when we attack young student athletes or professional athletes and nobody has

04:23attacked this guy for for doing one of the most childish acts in sports i've ever seen

04:31no embarrassing and it's embarrassing it's embarrassing you know what if i was the acc i would

04:36say you know what we don't want your money yeah go play go play go play army navy well go try to help

04:44um the coast guard get a football team go play them yep let me ask you this yep

04:49what is the issue with the other way around and miami had done that oh my goodness no no no what if

04:56miami had lost to notre dame but miami was ahead of notre dame in all the rankings for four weeks

05:03i don't then it the day of not in the day of blood no no listen okay the day of

05:09they have notre dame over miami glad but listen i get it listen head-to-head matters i'm i'm so i'm

05:19only looking at it at their side okay simple okay you use our name our image i like this the name of

05:27notre dame every week on your playoff show your ranking show and you had us believe that we're

05:35gonna get in and then you don't and then what you then what you want okay you don't want to fine

05:40we don't want to play we we're not in the college football playoffs but oh we'll give you the you

05:45know whatever damn bowl game you want me to play and then we'll promote you on that bowl game whatever

05:52the bowl game and then you guys make money off me bled bled bled bled bled you know what

05:59i would be with you if it wasn't for a grown-ass man acting the way he did and also i would say this

06:13was notre dame that upset when florida state went undefeated and didn't get in

06:20were they going against florida state in a in a chance did they get in that year i think they got

06:25in no it was alabama that got another sec team and then they got smoked by georgia right because

06:30they didn't have their quarterback their quarterback blew his knee and also 28 other

06:33players decided to they get no no no i'm saying who made the playoff it was only four teams but who

06:38made the playoff that year i believe it was texas maybe i don't remember who got in over but i

06:43remember i remember that what the situation was they lost their quarterback and so they basically

06:47yeah but they went on and won the acc championship after that yeah but they didn't but they but even

06:52after that they didn't put them in right no that's what i'm saying they're like they're not going to

06:55compete and then they got smoked right well because everybody left nobody played in the game yeah

07:00afterwards because yeah and i understand why because i'm like what are we going to stay around for but

07:04the the the whole issue with it is is that one of the things that sets teams up for this

07:13is is y'all think and they thought that all the rankings before the last one mattered and they

07:23don't and i've been saying that for a month the only rankings that matter is the last one and what

07:32notre dame should have been doing the whole time is saying damn i hope this loss to miami doesn't come

07:41bite us in the ass but instead you complained after the fact knowing damn well but that the team

07:50that got in above you you lost to yeah i think but that's that was my issue the whole time with it is

07:55like they they acted like this this head-to-head thing was a last resort when their own stipulations

08:03have it high in the parameters and they made it seem like oh if we get there we get there you you

08:11you know why two two reasons let's not have a conversation about something that isn't there yet

08:18being that miami's never finished the season strong they did and as i kept telling you beforehand

08:28miami and notre dame were not close enough to even have that conversation but that was their choice

08:35their choice whatever whatever reasons whatever reasons is that once we got to the vote that

08:42mattered right but would the anger have been as much from notre dame if they didn't feel okey

08:46doke right like they didn't feel like they're in danger it's still an unbecoming response how can you

08:50think that you don't have a chance of getting snubbed when the team right behind you you lost to

08:56who's that stop it knock knock who's you know that was gonna come back to haunt you you know that

09:04they had to be sitting in the room going i hope this miami thing doesn't come back to to haunt us

09:10or instead of worried about we were always ahead of miami you should have been concentrating on

09:17alabama getting in after that display of football and i think that's what they're saying no they

09:27didn't they never mentioned alabama they always talked about we were in so they were talking about

09:32miami the whole time without saying miami's name i think we know what they were doing they thought by

09:37the end of it that they had proven enough that they were going to get in no matter what happened

09:41the conference championships be damned so that's their mistake oh well like again oh well when

09:49and here's what i would say to all teams oh well as as a competitor i would say if you leave it up

10:01to another human being for anything you have a chance of something like this happening if you don't

10:10want this to happen you have control over that and you know what how that is win the games and then

10:18you won't have to worry about it so i said the same thing for miami i said the same thing for notre

10:25dame now i don't know what the hell alabama like i y'all lost three games they always get the pass

10:34they did lose to florida state yeah right okay right they always that's their worst loss i would also

10:39say you know they also got the best win this year you know what else was separated they went to georgia

10:44and won and beat georgia and like it or not they had a streak of four or five consecutive games

10:51against ranked teams home and away and they won those games and they were the number one seed in

10:56the sec tournament you know you know what i would also say about about it vlad is that

11:01when you look at

11:07i would say that you know what would separate these teams even more

11:12is if you play a ranked team and y'all promoted as two ranked teams playing

11:19whether that team falls off or not you should get credit for beating a ranked team

11:22because having these teams early in the year and you win i mean miami at one point had won

11:30had played one three beaten three ranked teams in the first four weeks

11:35it's hard to say but hold on

11:39and then at the end of the year because they didn't

11:42doesn't matter when you played them and where they were when you played them it doesn't matter at

11:45the end of the year because i gotta tell you that florida state law win in alabama should have

11:52made them a poopoo platter with as bad as as as florida state was so what the first game of the

11:58season you lose that should it i'm just all i'm saying is this if you beat a ranked team in the

12:04beginning of the year or lose to a ranked team in the beginning of the year it should still count as

12:10winning or losing to a ranked team because what happens is as these things weed themselves out

12:18those numbers get worse and worse so miami moved all the way up to two because they beat three

12:23ranked teams early in the season and one of them was and then at the end of the year when we look back

12:28to look at their credentials we don't even give them credit for that that was kind of my that was

12:33my issue the whole time with it though is because they're they they always do it by a feel of timing

12:37thing it's stupid like that's why i'm saying if you win against a ranked team or lose against a

12:44ranked team when you play the game so then it should count so then you give me alabama credit then

12:51why no yes because they played four games against ranked teams in the middle of the season and one

12:57yeah no yes of course lost to two ranked teams of course but the thing is i'm still saying the same

13:03thing about miami it's tough like you got to do about because the team the only team that loses in

13:08this is notre dame yeah because when you look at the schedule and you look at when these teams played

13:16for the first month of the season all miami was playing was ranked teams we're we agree i don't

13:23i'm not upset with notre dame not being being it and i'm just trying to show their side i couldn't

13:28understand their side of the argument if you're being led on for four weeks that's not the same thing

13:32yeah it is it's not the same yeah it is i'm just using that instead of saying notre dame if i'm

13:38being told four weeks about that i'm i'm in and then i'm not i'm gonna be pissed that's the only

13:45reason why i'm looking it's just they were led on they weren't let on yeah they were you you had to

13:50know if you notre dame no if you notre dame you had to know that this could come back and bite you in

13:56because good i'm glad they got catfished they got they got manti tay out good well now maybe they

14:02got matt barnes you know now what they're doing they're going their whole team is going to hiding

14:08so let me get this straight matt barnes sent sixty thousand dollars to ai is this what is being

14:15alleged right now i'll tell you what if i'm saying if i'm sending sixty five thousand to anybody i need to
