00:00The night before he passed, Ez woke up and was having like a lot of night terrors and I just
00:07had this like weird feeling. We had this um giant snowstorm here in Washington and he was like
00:12crying and he kept saying, daddy angry, daddy mad. And then I woke up and I had a bunch of
00:18messages from Eric's family in Nebraska. So he passed that morning, February 11th. I knew that
00:25he had chosen to end his life. My mom got me in therapy right away and I wasn't sure how
00:31to like
00:32of course navigate things with Ezra. I'm so grateful for what I have today. Life is more beautiful than
00:38I ever imagined it. And then instantly a part of me feels guilty because I know that my life is
00:43only
00:43as beautiful as it is today because he is gone. Not long after Eric passed, I moved out from my
00:51mom's
00:51house. So being with my brother and sister was good. They were very helpful with Ezra and I had
00:58the space to kind of process things however I needed to. Getting Ezra in school full time
01:06kind of gave me the ability to focus on myself a little bit. During that time too, I started dipping
01:13my toes in the dating world and Garrett and I connected on a dating app. Now we're engaged and
01:20have a baby. I just feel like those are the things that I had to get through to be where
01:26I am today.
