00:11there are going to be things that happen that you won't agree with.
00:15There's going to be things they do that aren't pushing it
00:20to try and give their best chance to win the game.
00:23They will throw relievers that you will be puzzled
00:26that they are in the game in that situation
00:29because, and here's the catch-22 on it,
00:32all the Yankee fan cares about is winning the World Series.
00:36That's all you care about.
00:37If they catch the Rays, win the division, and lose
00:40because it took Hedrick's arm to win the division,
00:43no one's going to give them a pat on the back and say,
00:45hey, you did whatever you could to win the division, nice job.
00:48No one's going to give a damn.
00:50Now, yeah, getting the bye is going to help them win, possibly, right?
00:54But I'm just saying, like, it's not about division titles.
00:57It's about winning a championship.
01:01And I know you want to take every win seriously,
01:04and winning the division's important, absolutely,
01:06but we're here now.
01:08They are where they are, five games back of the Tampa Bay Rays.
01:13How far do you push it to chase that?
01:17And do you make decisions based on making sure you're set up
01:20to be your best version come postseason time,
01:23even if it's in the wild card game,
01:26and even if it costs you the opportunity
01:28to get closer to winning the division?
01:31Because there are five games in the loss column,
01:33they would have to sweep the four games set at the end of the year
01:36not to lose the tie break.
01:38So it's pretty much essentially six games back.
01:42Like, with 25 to play, how hard do you push it?
01:45How much do you push your relievers?
01:47While you're also trying to find the game of who can be part of it.
01:53Clark Schmidt's going to have to pitch.
01:57If Weathers comes back, he's going to have to pitch.
01:59They're going to throw Luis Hill again
02:00and see what he can do out of the bullpen.
02:02They're having, like, some version of tryouts the last month as well.
02:08So just prepare yourself.
02:10For all of you Yankee, you're self-loathing Yankee fans
02:12and you Boone and Cashman haters,
02:14there's going to be things that piss you off inside the game.
02:17But it's about winning a championship.
02:20And you don't have to agree with them,
02:22but that's what they're doing.
02:24They're doing what they think is best
02:26to set them up come postseason time.
02:30And if they were a game out, it might be different.
02:32If they were two games out, it might be different.
