00:17Greetings, comrades. I'm here in Beijing to report this time on the strong growth in trade ties between China and
00:25ASEAN,
00:25the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.
00:30The figures were presented today here in the Chinese capital by the Chinese Vice Minister of Commerce, Yan Dong,
00:39at a press conference on economic and trade cooperation between China and ASEAN.
00:45Trade between China and ASEAN surpassed US$1 trillion for the first time in 2025,
00:54growing by 7.4%, and trade continues to accelerate this year.
01:02From January to July, bilateral trade reached US$744 billion,
01:10an increase of 24.7% compared with the same period in 2025.
01:18China has been ASEAN's largest trading partner for 70 consecutive years,
01:26while ASEAN has been China's largest trading partner for 6 consecutive years.
01:33This growth comes as both sides deepen their economic integration.
01:38In October last year, they signed the protocol to upgrade the China-ASEAN free trade area to version 3.0,
01:50and the next step will take place in Nanning, in southern China,
01:56where from September 17 to 21, the city will host the 23 China-ASEAN expo
02:03and the China-ASEAN business and investment summit.
02:08The figures show the strengthening of an increasingly strategic trade relationship
02:14between China and Southeast Asia.
