00:02Well, if you open Google Maps in the U.S. this morning and look for Lake Ontario,
00:06you're going to find Lake America instead. Google is rolling out the name change after
00:10President Trump signed an executive order last week renaming the lake for U.S. government use.
00:16Here's how it works. American users will see Lake America. In Canada, it'll stay Lake Ontario.
00:23And users elsewhere in the world will see both names, with Lake Ontario taking top billing.
00:28Trump made the change after U.S. trade talks with Canada collapsed,
00:32saying Canada has been the worst country to deal with on trade.
00:36And Ontario Premier Doug Ford has now answered with a message of his own.
00:40He unveiled this massive sign along the Canadian shoreline Saturday, reading,
00:46Lake Ontario, now and always.
00:48That's our message to President Trump. We're resilient and we're strong Canadians.
00:54We're always going to protect our sovereignty, always. And we'll never, ever back down from a bully, ever.
01:01But Ford's pushback isn't just about the name. The U.S. is now imposing 50 percent tariffs on a broad
01:06range
01:07of Canadian goods after the trade talks fell apart. Canada is set to retaliate with its own tariffs
01:12starting September 8th. On ABC's This Week Sunday, Ford argued Americans could end up feeling more of the pain from
01:20that fight.
01:21Well, it'd be devastating on both countries, but it'd be definitely devastating on the U.S.
01:25We're the largest purchaser of vehicles in the entire world off the U.S., over 400 percent more than anyone
01:32else.
01:33A tariff on Canada is nothing more than a tax on American people.
01:38And it's probably the worst movie you could ever do because I love the U.S.
01:43I love the American people. Canadians love the American people.
01:47We differentiate between the great American people and the president.
01:52I love the American people.
