00:00One of the stranger stories this week was finding out that the Houston Astros decided to
00:05fire their general manager, Dana Brown. And Tom and I had talked about this. I'm not surprised
00:09at all. I mean, I'm surprised of the timing a little bit, but I'm not surprised. Let me look
00:13at the resume of Dana Brown at this point. It's been nothing but the team just falling back and
00:18falling out of it. But the one move that he did make that you do give him credit for
00:22is acquiring Josh Hader. And Hader certainly has lived up to every billing possible. You look at
00:27his season 20 for 20 in terms of saves. I know he missed the first month or so of the
00:33year, but he's been dominant since then. And, you know, I kind of think that this is the
00:40big piece that's going to get traded, honestly, Tom, in the offseason. This is a tough one here
00:44because they got arguably the best left-handed relief pitcher. They got the best hitter in
00:48baseball in Jordan Alvarez. That's not going to be enough to get back to the postseason next
00:52year. I think there's a lot of speculation that Houston may turn the roster over at the
00:57end of the year.
00:58Yeah, it's looking like that. And it's great to see Hader back after, you know, some injuries
01:04again, back in the mix of things. And it's great to see your Don there. But, you know,
01:07ultimately, if you can't turn the game over to Hader when he's in a spot to actually save
01:14it, you got some issues. And that comes down to the frontline pitching. If they just don't
01:18have enough good starting pitching to get to Hader, then you're never going to win games
01:23and you can never, you know, flex those muscles to show that he is one of the best closers
01:26in the league. So Jordan's going to win AL MVP. We know that. They're going to have immense
01:33turnover in the front office as between, you know, GM and manager. But the starting pitching
01:37is really the issue for the Ashworths, which I don't remember the last time I could say that.
01:41No, they went into the season knowing that, Tom. And then the answer, I guess, was getting
01:46Tatoui Imai. And naturally, that may end up being the one that cost Dana Brown his job,
01:51potentially.
