00:00Now in Major League Baseball, Craig, sometimes you're like, boy, no hitters too far in between
00:04because you don't want to go over 100 pitches.
00:06And I have a no hitter in the seventh inning, but I'm at 101.
00:09So I'm not coming out for the eighth and ninth.
00:10How about those Astros here?
00:12A combined no hitter versus the Rangers.
00:15Emi, six innings pitched.
00:17Okert, one innings pitched, two innings pitched for a Lambert.
00:21Santa, how about that?
00:22Santa Claus coming in and dealing.
00:23First no hitter, Craig, since 2024.
00:25Didn't have one in 2025.
00:27Yeah, we had so many.
00:29I believe in 23 or 22, one of those years.
00:32I know we had a ton of them and we didn't get a lot since then.
00:36Naturally, the reason why is a lot of pitchers are not completing games anymore.
00:38Of course, that's part of it.
00:39But even to get the combined no hitter is really tough too.
00:42I think the moral of this little story here, I think, Donnie, more than anything else,
00:47is that Emi, who did sign a pretty big contract with the Astros this offseason,
00:51has produced absolutely nothing for them.
00:53And so this is really the first time that you can say, all right, maybe,
00:57maybe this ends up working out.
00:58Personally, Donnie, I don't think it will.
01:00I think that this is going to end up looking like a bad signing.
01:02Houston's a bad team.
01:03And now they're stuck with a guy they probably wish they wouldn't have signed.
01:06But I digress.
01:07Emi, Okert, Santa, who I had never heard of before.
01:11He's the second player in baseball history to pitch a no hitter in his big league debut,
01:16which is pretty incredible.
01:17And look, if the Astros end up losing 90 games, Donnie,
01:19at least they'll have this at the end of the season to put on that video that they can show
01:23somebody this.
01:24And I guess Jordan Alvarez, who's been fantastic this year.
01:27That's about it.
01:28Yeah, but the Astros are like, ooh, thank goodness the Los Angeles Angels are in our division
01:31because they'll probably be in last place.
01:32At least there is that.
01:34But you want to talk about some pressure, Craig.
01:35A lot of times, you make your Major League Baseball debut.
01:39Okay, you're starting pitcher.
01:41Get out there, kid.
01:41Let's see if you can go four or five innings.
01:43Make sure we leave you on a high note.
01:44Or if you're coming up and just add it into the bullpen,
01:47hey, look, we're not going to put you into a high leverage situation.
01:50Maybe we're up four runs down, four runs, get an inning, and just get used to it here.
01:53Santa comes in.
01:54Major League Baseball debut comes into a no hitter.
01:58No pressure, kid.
02:01Bumpus Jones of the Cincinnati Reds was the last player to pitch in a no hitter.
02:05He threw one all himself.
02:07I didn't know that, but I believe that he is the great-great-grandfather of our very own Joe Ranieri.
02:13So that's how I got to know Bumpus Jones.
02:15No, I'm just kidding.
02:16But it could be.
02:16Maybe Kevin Walsh he could be related to, too.
02:19Kevin will be on with us a little bit later here on the show, of course.
02:21It can't go one day without Kevin Walsh being on our show, so we've got to have that.
02:25Or we won an hour, by the way, being on our show here.
02:27But I digress.
02:28Bumpus Jones of the Reds was the last one to do it.
02:31At least the Astros, Donnie, have something to be proud of this season.
02:35That's really the bottom line here.
02:36I don't think this is going to be a good year.
02:39I think probably when we get to the halfway point, we'll do a show.
02:42We'll pick four or five teams that are doing bad that we think could have better second half.
02:46But I don't care.
02:47I will not be picking Houston.
02:48Too many injuries.
02:49Too many issues.
02:50They got old, and they're going to be looking to trade players.
02:53But in my guess what, Donnie?
02:54That guy's stuck in Houston.
02:55He ain't going anywhere.
02:56I don't care.
02:56I don't care.
