00:00Right now, I think the Houston Astros sort of deserve this, and they're getting booed.
00:06And in the open, Joe, right before you came aboard, I was saying that I was so surprised that the
00:15relief pitcher, Souza, I believe is his name.
00:18I was very surprised to see those comments from him, because what he said there was really nothing wrong with,
00:27meaning that no player likes to get booed.
00:30No player likes to get booed in the playoffs. That's true.
00:32It also is true that the Astros fans are a little bit spoiled, because all of the winning that they've
00:38done, and he came out and said that they shouldn't be booing, and they're spoiled.
00:43Like, he apologized today, and now that's over with, but Joe, it's not like he's Josh Hader. No disrespect.
00:51This guy's ERA is 6 on the season, and the Astros, last time I checked, were a .500 team going
00:58into the playoffs.
00:59They're a game under .500 right now, and probably going to be two games under to complete their season.
01:05Why in the world would any—I appreciate players when they speak honestly more than anything, because a lot of guys
01:12don't.
01:12But that was the least opportune time to do something like that, because now all you're going to do is
01:20catch all these people on their way to the ballpark seeing these comments today, and the boos are going to
01:24get even louder.
01:25And so, look, I highly doubt Houston comes back to win this one, and it's probably for the best, Joe,
01:33to be honest.
01:33They really didn't deserve to be in the playoffs.
01:35Their run differential, I think, was minus 30 or something like that.
01:38Houston needs to hit the reset.
01:40They need to hit the reset, okay?
01:42They fight you.
01:43Maybe not if they didn't fire their GM, but you fired your GM.
01:46You basically told your manager you're firing him at the end of the season, and you have three players that
01:52you consider core players that are below the age of 30, and that's it.
01:56Yep.
01:57Great run for Houston.
01:59Give them all—look, cheating, whatever.
02:01I give them so much credit for everything that they want.
02:03When I—spring training after spring training, Joe, at the ballpark of the Palm Beaches, you live right there, too.
02:08It was—I mean, seeing the stars in the World Series that would come through those teams was incredible, but that's
02:14it.
02:14You've got to know when to call it, and I think the Astros absolutely have to call it after this,
02:20and it's going to be ugly, ugly, ugly after this game today if they end up losing.
02:24You can't make two errors like that in the first inning after getting beat down yesterday like that.
02:29I mean, I guess it could be worse.
02:31You could be the Red Sox going into today, or you could be the Cubs going into today, but it's
02:36just—it's rare to have a situation in sports and in life in general where you're like,
02:41okay, Houston—like, you see a team, you know the team's not good, and then they just lose two games and
02:45go home, and that looks like that's what's going to happen to the Astros here.
02:49And credit to the White Sox.
02:50Now they face off if they win with Cleveland this weekend, and I don't know.
02:55I think they're up against it also, but at least they're the better team between these two teams.
03:02And for a team that did rely a lot on maybe the home run ball throughout the season, I mean,
03:08the one guy—they've already got eight guys up here.
03:11The eighth hitter is up Montgomery right now.
03:13First and second, you got four runs, five hits, and the Astros have committed two errors.
03:19I mean, you're talking about Hunter Brown looking at a 30, 35-pitch first inning.
03:25Not good.
03:26The bullpen is already up and throwing right now, which is—it's just bad.
03:31But kudos.
03:32I mean, the big home run threat in the White Sox—what is it, Murakami?
03:35He's struck out.
03:37He's the only one that's struck out.
03:39Now Montgomery is struck out, too.
03:41So finally, a couple of strikeouts in the first inning, but not before they send eight guys to the plate
03:47here.
03:48No, no, I'm sorry.
03:49There's only two outs.
03:50My bad.
03:51There's only two outs here.
03:53Two outs on strikeouts, so they will send at least nine guys to the plate in the first inning.
03:59Hunter Brown doesn't look like he's all that comfortable right now.
04:03Is he pitching on short rest, Craig?
04:08Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, maybe one day short.
04:12Maybe.
04:13He didn't pitch Sunday.
04:14I know that.
04:15He didn't pitch Sunday.
04:16So Saturday would have been the last day he pitched?
04:19Yeah, I'm not sure.
04:20I have to go back and look.
04:21I think you're right.
04:22He is not—he does not look good at all here.
