At 2:48 a.m. in Ramsey, Minnesota, a stranded truck stop turns into a tense DWI arrest when a police officer finds a driver in a ditch and starts asking the questions that unravel his story. What begins as a routine roadside check quickly escalates into field sobriety tests, threats, spitting, and a chaotic struggle over handcuffs, a hidden gun, and a blood draw at Mercy.

The bodycam footage follows the officer’s attempt to sort out where the driver came from, whether he used meth or alcohol, and why the truck ended up buried in the snowbank. As the stop grows more combative, the scene captures raw police footage, roadside sobriety testing, arrest resistance, and the kind of unpredictable behavior that makes Midwest crime videos so gripping.

This is police bodycam footage, DWI arrest footage, and roadside arrest video centered on a meth-related traffic stop in Ramsey. It also includes the aftermath, transport to the hospital, and details from the case outcome.

Created for viewers searching for police bodycam footage, DWI arrest videos, meth arrest footage, roadside sobriety test clips, and real police encounters in Minnesota. It’s also a strong fit for true police footage fans, crime documentary viewers, and anyone interested in arrest videos with uncooperative suspects and courtroom aftermath.

02:47You see how from our side of it it's just kind of a strange deal?
02:50Yeah.
02:51How long have you been out here?
02:53A few hours.
02:54A few hours just kind of hanging out or what the heck?
02:56I'm asleep.
02:57Okay.
02:58You got any weapons on you or in the vehicle?
03:00No?

03:11Here.
03:12Where's that?

03:16So you're in St. Cloud?
03:18Yeah.
03:19Okay.
03:20Where are you coming from?
03:21Uh, down in the red, uh, Sauk Rapids.
03:25Coming from Sauk Rapids going to St. Cloud?
03:28Yeah.
03:28I got you.
03:29What time did you leave?
03:31Can you do me a favor?
03:32Yeah.
03:32Can you get out that way or can you come out this way?
03:35Yeah, you got a tree.
03:36Hey.
03:36I can get out.
03:37You can, have you tried getting out at all?
03:39No.
03:40I can.
03:44So how long you figure you've been here, you said?
03:46A few hours.
03:47A few hours.
03:48Boy, you buried it here, man.
03:51Are you hurt at all?
03:52No.
03:53No?
03:54Yeah.
03:57You don't have any weapons on you?
04:00No knife, pocket knife, nothing like that.
04:02You don't carry that?
04:03All right.
04:03Will you come over here for me?
04:06All right.
04:07So do you know what time it is?
04:09No.
04:10No?
04:11What time, what time are you driving at?
04:13What time did you leave, you said Sauk Rapids?
04:16Yeah, I don't even remember.
04:18Okay.
04:19Okay.
04:19You've had nothing to drink?
04:20No, not today.
04:21Okay.
04:22When was the last time you did drink?
04:23Saturday.
04:24Saturday.
04:25What day is it today?
04:26It should probably be, if it's after midnight, Monday morning.
04:31Monday morning.
04:31What was your plan today?
04:33Go home.
04:35I was actually going down to the cities.
04:37Heading down to the cities?
04:38You said you were trying to go to St. Cloud.
04:40Yeah, I was in St. Cloud already.
04:42I was in Sauk Rapids.
04:44I was going back to St. Cloud and then going back to the city.
04:47Okay.
04:47And you're in St. Cloud now?
04:49Yeah.
04:50Okay.
04:50Do you use any prescription drugs?
04:52Yeah.
04:53What kind of prescription drugs do you use?
04:55Well, Bucerin.
04:56What is that for?
04:58Anxiety, depression.
04:59Okay.
05:00Do you use any narcotics?
05:02Yeah, I have.
05:03When was the last time, you think?
05:04Last Saturday.
05:06Saturday?
05:07Yeah.
05:07Okay.
05:08This whole thing seems kind of strange to me, you know what I'm saying?
05:11Like, most people just don't sit in a vehicle.
05:13I feel strange.
05:14I got you.
05:15I got you.
05:15Yeah, but most time, what time did you go in it?
05:20I don't know.
05:22Okay.
05:23What if I told you you're not in St. Cloud, you're about 40 miles south of there?
05:27Oh.
05:28Yeah.
05:29Is that confusing to you as well?
05:31Right.
05:32So, not knowing you, I got to try and put this whole story together, you know what I'm saying?
05:36And that just doesn't happen.
05:37Where am I?
05:38Where do you think you are?
05:39I don't know.
05:39Oh, I was in Sock Rapids before that.
05:44Yeah, yeah, yeah.
05:45You didn't use any meth.
05:47You said use meth Saturday.
05:48Yeah.
05:49Okay.
05:50Is there any meth in the truck?
05:51It's all gone.
05:52No, you don't have any on you neither?
05:54Okay.
05:55You think you were impaired while you were driving or you felt pretty good while you were doing it?
05:59How did you end up in the ditch?
06:00I don't know.
06:01I just remember sliding.
06:03Just remember sliding.
06:04I probably fell asleep.
06:05Okay.
06:07Who's the tree service?
06:08What's your buddy?
06:09Buddy of yours.
06:11All right.
06:12Well, I want to run you through some tests to make sure that you were sober while you were in
06:16the vehicle.
06:17You know what I'm saying?
06:18Because I have a duty to make sure that everybody's sober.
06:21Sarge, can you turn off your lights for me?
06:25Okay.
06:26Are you injured at all?
06:27No.
06:28No?
06:29Do you have any problem walking or bearing weight on your legs?
06:32You got no issues like that?
06:33No, I'm just cold.
06:34Yeah, I don't blame you.
06:35Do you have any issues with your hips, your back, or your neck?
06:37Nothing.
06:38No?
06:38Do you have any recent head injuries or surgeries?
06:41No?
06:41Do you wear contacts or glasses?
06:44Reading glasses.
06:44Okay.
06:45I know that you need my bent through at all.
06:47Okay.
06:48So you know what I'm kind of doing here.
06:49But you know I have to ask these questions.
06:51So if I stick out the tip of my finger, you can see that okay?
06:54Yeah.
06:55So for this test, all I want you to do is I want you to follow this tip of my
06:59finger right
06:59here with your eyes and your eyes only.
07:01I just don't want you to move your head.
07:03Does that make sense?
07:04Yeah.
07:04Okay.
07:22I'm going to go up this time, and I want you to keep your head on the same level for
07:25me, okay?
07:33All right.
07:33The next test, what I want you to do is you do me a favor, step right out to here
07:36for
07:36me?
07:36Yeah.
07:37All right.
07:38So this test is, oh, we're going to face my squad there.
07:41So this test is going to require you to balance on one foot.
07:43Is that something you can normally do?
07:45Okay.
07:45So for this test, you can take your, when I tell you to, I want you to take your hands
07:50outside your pocket.
07:51I'll let you keep, you can keep them warm for now.
07:53When I tell you to, choosing either foot, keep your hands down at your side.
07:57I want you to pick whatever foot you choose six inches off the ground.
08:01I want you to point your toe at the ground.
08:03I want you to stare at it and count out loud.
08:05One thousand and one, one thousand and two, one thousand and three, and so on until I
08:09tell you to stop, okay?
08:10If you put your foot down, I want you to pick it back up, continue to stare at it, and
08:14keep
08:14counting until I tell you to stop, okay?
08:16So hands down at your side, choosing any foot, six inches off the ground, stare at it and count.
08:21Just don't start yet.
08:22Don't start yet.
08:24Do you have any questions about that test?
08:26I've had a fellow in UWI.
08:28I know what you're doing.
08:28You know I'm not intoxicated.
08:30Okay.
08:32Not intoxicated, not on alcohol.
08:34Well, I'm intoxicated on anything.
08:36I'm sober.
08:37He's totally sober.
08:38Okay.
08:38Do you have questions about that one?
08:40No.
08:40Okay.
08:41Go ahead and start that one then.
08:58Keep going until I tell you.
09:00I couldn't.
09:00My ankle was fucking unlocking.
09:02Your ankle?
09:02Yeah.
09:03Okay.
09:03You didn't mention it before.
09:06Okay.
09:07Do you want to stop that one?
09:08Yeah.
09:09Okay.
09:10All right.
09:11Another test.
09:13So, left foot, do you want to use this line here?
09:15Would that help you for this one?
09:16You're good?
09:16Okay.
09:17I want you to put your right foot right in front of your left.
09:19Heel to toe.
09:20Can you do that now?
09:21So do that now.
09:23Heel to toe.
09:23Now keep your hands outside your pockets.
09:28Okay.
09:29Now don't move from there until I tell you to, okay?
09:31Whatever.
09:31Just give me whatever you're going to give me.
09:33Just give me.
09:33Okay.
09:34You're going to do it anyhow.
09:35So, fucking I played this game, motherfucker.
09:37I'll break through your fucking damn neck.
09:40You're under arrest.
09:46You're under arrest.
09:48I got his hand here.
09:49We're fighting this one.
09:53Hey, put your hand behind your back.
09:58Don't grab me.
09:59I'm not.
10:01I'm not even moving.
10:12Okay.
10:14Now you're in a whole heap of shit.
10:17All right, man.
10:18I would.
10:18You know who you're fucking with?
10:20You know I got 11 of the sauce on top of you dumb motherfucking punk?
10:23Yeah, not this time, brother.
10:24You got anything on you?
10:27Yeah, you're right.
10:29You're in my pants.
10:30You got my pants.
10:343 and 31.
10:35We have a male in class so you can start at North Star.
10:38So, you're under arrest for DWI.
10:40No, I'm not.
10:41Your wife should be dead.
10:50Why are you spitting on me?
10:52I didn't spit on you.
10:53Well, stop it.
10:55It's a free room.
10:56I can do what the fuck I want.
10:57At this point, you cannot, sir.
10:59The fuck I can't.
11:00Do you have any other weapons on you?
11:02Yeah, I got a fucking nine millimeter.
11:05In my boots.
11:07Don't you kick at me.
11:10Do you have a gun on you?
11:11No.
11:11Okay.
11:12I got to check the front of you.
11:14Can we be civil about this?
11:20You want to check the other thing?
11:21I got a gun.
11:22Yeah.
11:24Why did you just do that, man?
11:25How did I do what I want?
11:26I don't give a fuck.
11:28Well, that's not how life works.
11:29It is how it works.
11:31I'm sure those cuffs are tighter than thick.
11:32Can I loosen them up for you so we can be civil?
11:34Yeah.
11:35Hey.
11:35Yes.
11:36Listen.
11:37I'm going to be good to you.
11:38Yes.
11:39Okay?
11:39Yes.
11:39But I need it back.
11:40Yes.
11:41Because I'm not here to play games.
11:42Both of us aren't.
11:43Okay?
11:44Yes.
11:46You got to remember.
11:47All we did was stop to check on you.
11:49You were in the ditch.
11:51Against the tree.
11:51Yeah.
11:52All right.
11:53All right, man.
11:54We're going to go sit in the back of my squad.
11:56What's that?
11:57There's no favors at this point right now.
12:01Given that if the situation would have been different, you bet.
12:04You're going to regret it.
12:05You don't get to treat people like this, man.
12:07Watch.
12:07Watch.
12:08Watch.
12:08You can go home tonight.
12:09Your family's going to be dead.
12:15Get a family too.
12:16Okay.
12:17You're going to be dead.
12:18You're going to be something.
12:19F***.
12:20Okay.
12:23Get me cuffed off me like a man and I'll show you what it's like.
12:27Okay.
12:29It still does work.
12:31It works for my money.
12:32Stop.
12:32Stop.
12:33All right?
12:34F*** you.
12:35Stop.
12:36Bro.
12:37What are you doing?
12:39Now you got a fourth grade assault on you, idiot.
12:42God.
12:43Why did you spit in my face?
12:47You're going to spit, bud.
12:48You're going to spit in.
12:53Quit kicking.
12:54I'm loosening up.
12:57Let go.
12:58I'm okay.
12:59I'm not taking the chance of you spitting on my face again.
13:02Your face was there.
13:03You should have been there when I spit.
13:04You were looking right at me.
13:09I'm not taking the chance of you spitting on my face again.
13:11This is two squads.
13:15Take me to the hospital.
13:16I probably ate about 80 yards in three weeks.
13:19In three weeks?
13:21Yeah.
13:21Okay.
13:25Let me slip this over your head.
13:27I know how it works.
13:28I don't want you spitting again.
13:29I know how it works.
13:31Shut the f***.
13:31You understand?
13:32You understand me.
13:33You don't have to keep repeating yourself.
13:36That's why you get spit on your f***ing dumb punk.
13:39Okay.
13:40So that's why you spit on me?
13:42So this is...
13:50Perfect.
13:53All right.
13:54Go on this way.
14:01He's got a scrape on his head.
14:03He does?
14:04Yeah.
14:05Is this starting to line?
14:06I don't know.
14:08So you ate it for three weeks.
14:10No.
14:11He's got a scrape on his melon.
14:12I don't want to run D-Dub.
14:14I mean...
14:15Did you...
14:16I have enough right now to...
14:18Even if he refuses.
14:19His fields are terrible.
14:20Said he used meth on Saturday.
14:23Okay.
14:23You want to describe what while we're down there?
14:25Are there a warrant and...
14:26You bring him to Mercy, you're saying?
14:27Mm-hmm.
14:28Yeah.
14:28I mean, I would for sure do that.
14:29You want to send to us?
14:32Yeah.
14:33I'd like to just start knocking out that report.
14:35Or start knocking out the warrant.
14:36Mm-hmm.
14:37Can we get him in a different squad and go down there and get checked out?
14:39And when I can just hammer out that warrant so he's already getting...
14:42Yeah.
14:43Does that make sense?
14:44Mm-hmm.
14:44Put it on my mind.
14:46You good?
14:47Yeah.
14:48Okay.
14:48Yeah.
14:48He didn't get it on my face.
14:49It came close.
14:50Okay.
14:51Your camera's upside down, Jared.
14:52You're good?
14:53Good?
14:54Yeah.
14:54I'm fine.
14:56I didn't mean for you to have to run D-Dub.
14:58I was just running him.
14:58Oh, no.
14:59I wanted to.
15:01It was good.
15:02Unless you wanted it.
15:03No, that's fine.
15:04I just don't want to be the guy that passes one off.
15:07No.
15:07I was just running him quick.
15:08I wasn't quite sure how I was going to get him out of the squad because I think I was
15:11going to sink in the snow.
15:13No, that was...
15:14No, that's...
15:15I took it upon myself.
15:18I'll start the tow sheets.
15:19I want to search that thing, too.
15:21Oh, yeah.
15:23But I'm not going to search until they pull it out.
15:25I'll start that search warrant.
15:27Okay.
15:27Do you want...
15:29Yeah, I just want to do that.
15:30I want to get him down there and get looked at and we'll just do this as quick as we
15:33can.
15:33So I can go down there and issue it.
15:36Okay.
15:36If you want to just bring him down there and get looked at and do all that, I'm just going
15:39to start on that.
15:39Yeah.
15:40Cool with that?
15:40Yeah.
15:41He's going to kill my wife.
15:43He did say your wife was on him.
15:49All right.
15:49Here's what we're going to do.
15:50I'm going to pull this down so you can see.
15:53How's that?
15:54Can you see?
15:55All right.
15:55We're going to have you get out of this car and I'm going to bring you into my car and
15:59then we're going to go down to Mercy, okay?
16:02All right.
16:03T-Dote.
16:10What's that?
16:11Kill him all.
16:13I can't hear you.
16:14I'm killing you all you dumb mother****.
