00:00All right, speaking of the running back position, Cater.
00:04Here's a great segue.
00:06Yeah.
00:08Yeah, I'm a little concerned about the group.
00:10Yeah.
00:11Gibbs is arguably the best running back in the National Football League.
00:15Sorry, Kyle.
00:18But beyond him, I'm concerned because guys that they have have all been dinged up.
00:24Everyone's been dinged up in the preseason.
00:27And I know not everyone's going to stay healthy the whole time, right?
00:30But guys have missed practices, have missed games.
00:33They've missed weeks of practices.
00:36And that's a concern.
00:38Pacheco is the backup, but is he healthy?
00:41Is he ready to go?
00:44Sailors looks decent enough, but, I mean, is that the guy you want to be the backup running back if
00:50Pacheco's not ready to go?
00:52And by the way, Pacheco doesn't have this great history of being solid and durable.
00:57So I'm just a little concerned about that.
01:00And I think that's a position they're going to really look strongly at the waiver wire and see if maybe
01:05they can sneak somebody else on there.
01:07I think he might be right.
01:09Look, as injuries mount at any given position, you know, depth matters.
01:15Depth matters a ton.
01:17And, you know, getting, making sure that you have a good RB2 and RB3 for that matter.
01:26I mean, there were times where Craig Reynolds has had to carry the load because of other players being injured.
01:30And he was reliable.
01:32He wasn't spectacular, but he was a reliable guy who made some plays for them.
01:36But at the end of the day, yeah, they, you know, the, the situation as it stands right now is
01:44really thin.
01:46It's a really thin position.
01:49Do you have anybody you picked off the waiver wire or somebody you think they might go against?
01:53I did a quick look at just teams that were playing last night, and I don't know where he stands
01:57on the depth chart of Pittsburgh.
01:59I should probably take a closer gander at that and see if there's a better idea of it.
02:05And as I look at their, their depth chart, he's not on the top four for the Steelers.
02:11And that's Lou Nichols, who played collegially at Central Michigan.
02:16It's like 5'10", 215 pounds, solid guy.
02:20And he can run.
02:22And he played in their, in their preseason game last night and did, I think it was like 5.7
02:29yards per carry.
02:30I want, it's just, it's just a name I'm throwing out there.
02:33I'm not saying this has to be the guy.
02:35I'm saying if a team like the Steelers are pretty deep at running back, are they going to, I imagine
02:41going to carry four running backs and is he the fifth?
02:43Is he the odd man out?
02:44Would he be an improvement over what our fourth running back is?
02:492-4-8-5-3-9-97-97, valid question.
02:53And I have a feeling that you're right.
02:56There's going to be some looking at the waiver wire and see who might become available in the open market.
03:03To add to the depth at that spot behind Jameer Gibbs.
03:06Let's go to Robin in Detroit.
03:08You're next.
03:08Hello, Robin.
03:10Hi, you know, I just wanted to make a comment about Scooble.
03:13I think that the organization kind of did a disservice because everything it seemed like was through the Scooble lens.
03:19Like when a new player would come up, they'd be interviewing Scooble.
03:23Well, how do you think McGonagall is doing?
03:24How do you think that this other pitcher did?
03:26How did you think here?
03:28Even when they did national hookups, the same thing.
03:30They were always interviewing Scooble.
03:32And it got to be too much.
03:34I mean, he's a pitcher.
03:35He's a good pitcher.
03:36But it was like they were stuffing him down our throat.
03:38And I just couldn't take it anymore.
03:39So I didn't want everything to be through the Scooble lens.
03:42And they just kept it up.
03:44And it burned me out on him.
03:45So you were burned out because nationally the media wanted to talk to the Tigers' best player.
03:52Yes, because I could care less what he thinks about a new player who's batting.
03:59I mean, I know that Scooble is pitching.
04:02But it was just too much.
04:03Everything was always, you know.
04:05Are you more upset with them going to Scooble?
04:07People are more upset that they're talking about McGonagall.
04:13No, I think it was because to me it just seemed like that they were just trying to stuff Scooble
04:17down our throat.
04:18Well, it was everything.
04:19Everything was through the Scooble lens.
04:21Robin, I will tell you that is not likely the organization to blame.
04:24It is likely the networks who want to talk to the best players usually.
04:30So you said you were mad at the organization.
04:33The organization doesn't choose who, especially the national networks, when they come in, they're plopping a headset down during game
04:41interviews, usually with, if not the best player, one of the best players.
04:47So that's why you saw it.
04:49And you will continue to see the best players get interviewed.
04:54I think what she's voicing, though, and she had a hard time saying it, is Scooble fatigue was real.
04:59And that includes us.
05:01Radio, TV, national TV, print.
05:05Scooble was the talk.
05:06And it's because he's such a good player, such a big player, and it was such a big story.
05:10I think we got a lot of that through text today, too, that I didn't even get to you guys,
05:13is the people that didn't care anymore.
05:15They weren't going to boo.
05:16They weren't going to cheer.
05:17They were just done.
05:18They don't want to deal with Scooble anymore.
05:19And that's what I think became, at the end of this whole thing, was enough.
05:24I'll buy the fatigue factor when it comes to his journey with the Tigers.
05:29And are they going to trade him?
05:30Are they going to sign him?
05:31And all that stuff that we've been living through for the last two years, really.
05:34When two years ago we were talking about the Baltimore Orioles and should the Tigers send him there for all
05:38these prospects.
05:41And it's been going on ever since, and it hasn't stopped.
05:45Now, part of that's his own fault, and whatever.
05:47There's fatigue to that.
05:48But I guess there's a misstep with what she had to say.
05:52When it comes to national perspective, the Tigers are playing a national baseball game on Sunday night on ESPN.
05:58And they're going to mic up.
05:59Of course they're going to mic up Tarek Scooble.
06:02And, of course, they're going to ask him about, hey, things go well for your Tigers right now.
06:06How about this Kevin McGonigal, rookie of the year candidate?
06:08Yes.
06:08Want to hear about that.
06:10The story itself is going to get tired.
06:12Yeah, I get that.
06:13I think you're right, Kang.
06:16Yeah, and it becomes gray area.
06:17Yeah, it doesn't matter, Gator, that you, yeah.
06:20All that stuff you said is correct from the national point of view.
06:22But as a Tiger fan, they're probably just sick of seeing his face.
06:25You know what I mean?
06:26Like, honestly, it didn't matter what he's going to say or they're going to ask him.
06:29James in Tecumseh is next.
06:30Hello, James.
06:31Good afternoon, gentlemen.
06:33What's up?
06:34If I was at the game, I would stand up, cherish Scruble, loudly, and thank him for being one
06:42of the greatest Tigers in the history of this game, just like everybody did for Justin Verlander.
06:49There's no difference between Verlander and Scruble.
06:52Both got traded.
06:54Well, there's a couple of differences.
06:55I think there is some differences.
06:56No, there's not.
06:56Yeah.
06:57Okay.
06:57No, there's not.
06:58Yeah, there is.
06:59The difference is that...
06:59Go ahead.
07:00Well, I think I will.
07:02The difference is that Scruble made it well known ahead of time.
07:05He is not re-signing with the Detroit Tigers.
07:09So he was not going to stay here.
07:11And Verlander did not want to leave the Detroit Tigers.
07:16Well, Verlander could have stayed here, and he still left.
07:20No, he couldn't stay here because the Tigers traded him.
07:24Right.
07:24But he could have went to management and said, please don't trade me.
07:27This is my team.
07:28It kind of worked out.
07:29It literally took a minute before the trade deadline for them to move him.
07:33Trying to convince him.
07:34Because they were convincing him that they were going to trade him.
07:38But he still left.
07:39It's not the same thing, James.
07:41Well, James thinks it is.
07:42That's fine.
07:43I think that there's quite a bit of difference.
07:47Quite a bit of difference.
07:49And, you know, if you want to go with the definition that they were both traded full stop,
07:56you can do the full stop wherever you choose.
07:59My definition goes a little bit further to define the difference between the two.
08:03248-539-9797.
08:05Hey, are you going to eat that coming up at 102?
08:08It's Carson Anderson, 97.1.
