26:32But actually, it goes right back to the early times when a minion was a king's favourite subject.

26:41It comes from the French minion, meaning cute or sweet.
26:44And for centuries after, minion was a term of endearment.
26:46It's a little bit like bully.
26:48Bully in Shakespeare's time meant friend or a lover as well.

26:54And it wasn't until the 18th century that minion began to turn up in a negative light, probably because of
26:59jealousy for a teacher's pet, you know, that sort of hatred.
