00:00brother have you noticed what's been happening in the sky these past few days
00:05look I'm impressed because everything is happening one after another and this is
00:09catching the attention of the world of astronomers I'll give you an example
00:14here just on the 12th of this month there was a total solar eclipse and in
00:21some regions like Greenland Iceland northern Spain and part of Portugal the
00:27moon completely covered the Sun take note of that on the 12th on the same day and
00:34the next day we had the peak of the Perseids which is that meteor shower and
00:40here's something interesting during that same period those who looked at the sky
00:43before sunrise could also see six planets aligned Mercury Jupiter Mars Uranus
00:51Saturn and Neptune and some could see them with the naked eye and others had to
00:57use a device right the telescope to be able to observe this but the truth is
01:03brothers that a lot of things are happening one after another I don't
01:07think it's a coincidence and this isn't over you know on the 27th of this month
01:12on the 28th we are going to have what we call a blood moon that's right which is a

02:38here about what happened in these last few days a piece of news came out in the
02:42most advanced observatories in the world and it caught a lot of scientists
02:46attention astronomers from several countries managed to capture the exact
02:50moment when a giant star exploded and died in space and this signal was picked up
02:57by a space telescope called Einstein probe coming straight from a galaxy that's
03:02about 500 million light years from earth and look how interesting this is
03:08brothers less than an hour after this first alert in space observatories all over
03:13the world started turning their telescopes exactly to that point in the sky and
03:19then several scientists stopped everything they were doing to follow this
03:22closely and they were shocked because they managed to record that extremely rare
03:27phenomenon that they call I'll explain it to you in a simpler way so you can understand
03:34when a very large star but extremely large and heavy uses up all the fuel inside it its core
03:41suddenly collapses and this collapse creates a very violent shockwave inside so this gigantic
03:48force tears all the layers of the star from the inside out and when that happens it releases a flash
03:55of light and a frightening amount of radiation and it only lasts a few seconds
04:01it's like the blink of an eye in the universe's time you know but the reason this time is different
04:07is that no one had ever managed to record something like this so clearly something that
04:12happens so fast but they managed to capture the details in this star just so you have an idea it's
04:19many times bigger than our Sun and after burning everything it had it exploded in a very violent
04:25supernova and left behind probably a black hole and maybe you're asking yourself right pastor but if
04:32it was 500 million light years away then it didn't explode just now right and that's true brothers that
04:40light traveled for millions of years until it got here and why am i bringing this up today brothers
04:45it's because for thousands of years anyone who looked at the sky thought the stars would last forever
04:52people in the past looked at the stars and thought they were gods that would never change
04:58that's because the kings and powerful empires that once existed on this earth all came to nothing and
05:04turned to dust but the stars kept shining in the same place but the bible brothers it makes one
05:12thing clear that we need to learn here today not everything we think will be eternal actually will be
05:18because even the heavens even the moon the stars even the sun brothers all of this will grow old
05:25this universe we have here today has an end did you know that and i want to read the first
05:30passage here
05:31so you can understand how god has already made everything clear for us look at what is written in
05:37psalm 102 verses 25 and 26 it says in the beginning you laid the foundations of the earth and with
05:45your hands you
05:46made the heavens they will perish but you will remain they will all wear out like clothing you will
05:52change them like someone changes clothes and they will be set aside look at these brothers what the
05:58holy spirit revealed to the psalmist because for us the heavens seem infinite right something that will
06:05never fall but for almighty god this whole universe that we see is nothing more than clothing that we wear
06:12every day because that's what is written here in this text as time goes by just like fabric gets worn
06:19out it fades it gets old so it will be with the universe around us and that's why i want
06:26you to know
06:27brothers that the universe is just a temporary home because god is preparing something better and most
06:33importantly something eternal that will never end and there is another very interesting passage that says
06:40pretty much the same thing but now in the new testament look at what is written in hebrews chapter 1
06:46verse 10 and onward in the beginning lord you laid the foundations of the earth and with your hands you
06:53made the heavens they will perish but you will remain they will all wear out like clothing you will fold
07:01them up like a cloak and change them as someone changes clothes but you are always the same and your
07:08days will never end look at these brothers maybe you've never thought about this but here the bible
07:14is making a very clear distinction between two things right it's talking about the creator and what
07:20he created and everything that was created wears out grows old comes to an end and only god remains the
07:28same for ages and ages for all eternity but it's interesting that the prophecy in the bible here isn't just
07:35talking about where and there that will happen slowly over time because when we start looking at the
07:40prophets of the old testament we begin to notice something that impresses us i'll give you an example
07:46here the prophet isaiah when god gave him a revelation about the future about the judgment that would come
07:53upon humanity because of rebellion because of disobedience he wrote a passage that can even scare us
08:01but actually it's to bring clarity about what will happen in the future look at what is written in isaiah
08:0734
08:08verse 4 it says the host of heaven shall be dissolved and the sky shall be rolled up like a
08:16scroll
08:17all the stars will fall like dry leaves falling from the vine or like dried figs from the fig tree
08:24look at
08:25this brothers think with me about the weight of this world he said that the host of heaven will be
08:30dissolved in other words the stars will dissolve they will die everything will pass i know we are used
08:39to seeing news about buildings collapsing cities suffering from floods earthquakes financial crisis that
08:45bankrupt countries or wars right between peoples but the bible doesn't limit the end times only to things
08:54that happened here on earth in fact it says that even the structure up in the sky in space in
09:00the
09:00universe will be shaken and for us to understand what isaiah was saying here we need to remember what
09:06ancient scrolls were like because he said the sky will be rolled up like a scroll isn't that right
09:12so back then in those days they didn't have these books these notebooks like we have today right with
09:18loose pages actually people used to write on long scrolls that were made of leather or papyrus and to
09:27be able to read you had to hold the scroll stretched out with both hands and if you let go
09:32of one end it
09:34would roll up so as i is saying that all these things we think are unshakable will actually be gathered
09:41up with such ease the stars will fall like dry leaves and when we look at the teachings of jesus
09:49then my brothers this prophecy becomes even more urgent because in the gospel of matthew in chapter 24
09:56when jesus was there seeking the mount of olives explaining to the disciples what the signs of the
10:02end times would be he made it very clear that history will not follow a smooth path but in fact
10:08it will face a period of affliction a great tribulation like never before on the whole earth
10:15look at what jesus said in matthew 24 21 he said this for there will be a great distress such
10:23as has
10:23not happened from the beginning of the world until now and never will be again so brothers jesus was
10:30talking about the great tribulation and right in verse 29 he connects this suffering on earth with the
10:38astonishing events that will take over the whole sky in other words jesus wasn't just talking about
10:44men fighting for power nations disputing territories right and not even about earthquakes tsunamis yeah so
10:51many bad things that happen on this earth actually he was saying look everything that we consider
10:58unshakable today will in fact tremble before the glory of god and look at verse 29 he said this
11:05and immediately after the distress of those days the sun will be darkened the moon will not give its
11:12light the stars will fall from the sky and the powers of the heavens will be shaken amen brothers many
11:21years after that conversation that jesus had there on the mount of olives the apostle john was taken in
11:26a vision and he wrote the book of revelation and when he looked at everything that happened at the opening
11:32of
11:32the sixth seal he saw exactly the same scene that the prophet isaiah had seen hundreds of years before
11:39and the bible is so perfect brothers that from beginning to end we can see that the pieces fit
11:44together and look at what the apostle john revealed in revelation 6 starting from verse 12 he said this
11:52i looked when he opened the sixth seal and there was a great earthquake the sun became as dark as
11:59black
11:59morning cloth and the moon turned red like blood the stars of the sky fell to the earth like green
12:06figs falling from a tree when shaken by a strong wind the sky was rolled up like a scroll and
12:15all the
12:15mountains and islands were removed from their places look at these brothers how perfect the bible is
12:22all of this already serves as a serious warning that god brings to humanity
12:27but there are a lot of people just playing around right there are a lot of people who think that
12:32none of this is going to happen and at the same time maybe you're out there worried you're afraid
12:38anxious right with so many things happening i want to explain to you here when all of this will happen
12:44so you can also be prepared so what is going to happen during this period of great tribulation
12:50that jesus talked about there will be war hunger and suffering here on this earth and besides that
12:57all these celestial beings will be shaken right but there are a lot of people who think that all
13:02the bad things that are going to happen come from the devil or that the antichrist is the one who
13:06will
13:07send these punishments upon humanity but that's not how it works brothers the bible teaches that there
13:12will be two very different forces acting at the same time upon the world so on one side evil will
13:18manifest itself with all its strength right the devil knows his time is running out and the antichrist
13:25will appear on the world stage as a leader he's very persuasive he will deceive people with promises
13:31of peace but in reality he will fool everyone and he will demand to be worshiped and whoever doesn't
13:38want to bow down before him whoever does not receive the mark of the beast will be persecuted with a
13:44lot
13:44of hatred and all of this is written in the book of daniel in 2 thessalonians and in revelation
13:51chapter 13 so this evil action in the world will bring lies persecution and a lot of suffering but above
13:58all of this is god's own justice because the great tribulation is in fact a time of judgment when god
14:06will
14:06pour out all his wrath against the wickedness of mankind and for all the people who turn their backs
14:12on god they will suffer because of the seals that god will open because of the trumpets and because
14:18of the bows of his wrath all of this is written in the book of revelation and then the antichrist
14:24will
14:25be persecuting the people but at the same time god will be sending these natural disasters god will do
14:31many things brothers during this time to see if people wake up because unfortunately humanity will
14:37be getting worse every day especially during the time of the great tribulation because the bible says
14:42that even after seeing so much tragedy so much suffering people will still blaspheme and i confess
14:49to you that according to the bible we can't be absolutely sure if the church of the lord jesus will
14:55be
14:55here during this period of darkness in this time of suffering or if we would already have be raptured
15:02before but i'll tell you one more thing this treatment will be mainly for the people of israel
15:06because the bible shows that the great tribulation has a very specific purpose for them the book of
15:11daniel for example in chapter 9 talks about 70 weeks decreed for the jewish people and the prophet
15:19jeremiah in chapter 30 calls this difficult period a time of trouble for jacob so it will be a time
15:27of
15:27great pain and trial for the people of israel because they rejected jesus when he was here on earth they
15:33will remain spiritually blind but when they are cornered when they are about to be wiped out from humanity
15:42they will finally recognize that jesus christ is the lord and they will say blessed is he who comes
15:49in the name of the lord and it is at that moment that jesus comes with all his glory and
15:55then we will
15:56reign we who believe in jesus we will reign for a thousand years and then we will have a new
16:02heaven
16:02and a new earth but brothers before all this happens look at what is written in second peter
16:08chapter 3 verse 10 but the day of the lord will come unexpectedly like a thief then the heavens will
16:17disappear with a terrible roar and the elements will be destroyed by fire and the earth and everything
16:22in it will be exposed and now i want to ask you something if even the biggest stars in this
16:30universe
16:30die how can humans think that this world will last forever brothers people run from one place to
16:38another here on earth worried about so many silly things so many temporary things and they forget that
16:44eternity exists and it's jesus himself who said in matthew 24 verse 35 that heaven and earth will pass
16:53away but my words will never pass away look at the guarantee we can have brothers the galaxies may fade
17:02away the stars in the sky may fall but every word that comes from the mouth of jesus will stand
17:08forever
17:10forever so i want to ask you something if you had to stand before god right now would you be
17:15absolutely
17:16sure that you are saved i believe that most of you don't have that certainty do you know why because
17:23we still haven't given our lives completely to jesus because when we believe in jesus it no longer depends on
17:30us it was his sacrifice on the cross at calvary that guaranteed us the certainty of salvation
17:38brothers when god looks at us now he no longer sees our sins he sees what jesus did for us
17:44he sees the
17:45sacrifice of his son on our behalf and that's why we need to repent that's why we need to truly
17:52surrender ourselves to him amen to walk in the presence of the lord day after day denying ourselves
17:59and taking up our cross i'm not saying that we will be perfect but we can be perfected each day
18:07and salvation is not by our merits or by our words but it is by grace through faith in jesus
18:14amen
