00:00Hawaii could be dealing with another hurricane just days after Lala brought devastating flooding to the Big Island.
00:04A tropical rainstorm southeast of Hawaii is expected to strengthen into a tropical storm Thursday.
00:09The next name is Mocha, and it could become a hurricane by Friday.
00:12Right now, the storm's forecast to pass about 75 to 100 miles south of the Big Island,
00:17but even without that direct hit, as we know, the impacts could still be significant late this weekend into early
00:22next week.
00:23The windward side of the Big Island could see up to two feet of rain,
00:26which could trigger widespread flash flooding and mudslides, especially in areas still recovering from Lala.
00:31Wind gusts could reach 40 to 60 to up to 85 miles per hour,
00:34potentially bringing down weakened trees and causing renewed power outages.
00:37And the exact track matters.
00:39A shift further north could mean even more rain for Hawaii,
00:41so this is one we'll be watching closely.
