Transcript
00:00The Pacific is alive with a great deal of activity as we step into early September.
00:04Powerful Hurricane Karina is on the map, moving west through the east-central Pacific,
00:09and Tropical Storm Lowell will be passing south of Hawaii.
00:13So Karina still far, far to the east of Hawaii.
00:16This one is on its trajectory to brush Hawaii, perhaps, in about seven to nine days.
00:23Lowell is going to pass comfortably south of the Big Island,
00:25but it will produce large waves, rip currents, and all kinds of dangers out there,
00:30at least for beachgoers in Hawaii.
00:32We'll keep an eye on both of these storms, but there will be more activity brewing.
00:35A little closer to Mexico, a high risk of tropical development is on the map south of Cabo San Lucas.
00:41All of this activity will remain active, though.
00:44There will be more storms to form through early September off the south and west side of Mexico,
00:47and that will lead to more danger for swimmers in California with rough surf and rip currents.
