Give your iPad a natural paper feel with Paperlike 3 https://paperlike.com/nevertoosmall/2608

Set on a hillside near central Seoul, interior designer Juno Yoon of Juno Yoon Office transformed his long, narrow apartment into a calm and continuous home for himself, his wife Mihyun Son, and their cat Goyo. The renovation removed almost every internal door creating a flowing living space where light can travel from one end of the apartment to the other. A long custom stainless steel kitchen forms the heart of the home, extending into a window-side shelf and breakfast bar where the couple start their mornings together. Lightweight furniture, integrated storage, glass surfaces and carefully designed lighting keep the interior feeling open, while enclosed former balconies create additional living, planting, and utility space.

00:00The long and narrow layout naturally led us to think about circulation and how movement could shape the space.
00:12We were also influenced by our daily routines.
00:16In the morning, we usually share tap. I make coffee.
00:21My wife prepares bread or sandwiches.
00:26We enjoy having breakfast at the bar table, looking out toward the rock wall.
00:32That might be one of the most special moments in this home.
00:38We often refer to it as Ginzip or Long Home in Korean.
00:45My name is Juno Yoon and I am an interior designer and the founder of Juno Yoon Office.
00:50My wife and I have lived in this apartment for 2 years with our cat Goyo.
00:58This apartment sits on a hillside near central Seoul.
01:03It is a quiet residential area with steep roads.
01:09One of the unique things about the apartment is its proximity to nature.
01:15There is a small stream nearby and it sits close to the mountains which overlook the city.
01:24Our apartment sits on the first floor at the end of the apartment block.
01:30The original layout consisted of a small entrance, living room and balcony on the west side.
01:37And bathroom, kitchen, dining, bedroom, laundry and another small balcony to the east.
01:45We first removed all doors replacing only the bedroom door with a sliding door.
01:50We also shifted the layout of the bedroom to include a custom inbuilt storage.
01:57We extended the kitchen to have a space to enjoy the view outside of the window.
02:04This creates one continuous living space that connects all of the rooms and lets light floor throughout the apartment.
02:14This video is sponsored by Paperlike.
02:17Paperlike transforms your iPad screen into a canvas that feels just like paper.
02:22We recently installed the new Paperlike 3 on our iPad and the process was seamless.
02:28We simply scanned the included QR code, followed the interactive guide displayed right on our iPad
02:36and used the helper tool for a perfect dust and bubble-free application.
02:43The NanoDots technology creates the same friction we would get when writing on paper.
02:48Whether we're marking up digital guide proofs, drafting floor plans or just doodling,
02:56it feels exactly like writing on paper.
02:59As a bonus, it also adds a layer of protection against scratches.
03:04Paperlike 3 brings a natural paper feel to your iPad with a stress-free installation process.

03:13Thanks Paperlike!
03:19The entrance of the apartment is a small nook for taking our shoes on and off.
03:26It is defined by the stab-up from tire to wood,
03:30which helps softly separate the entry from the main living space.
03:36This small change in level creates a clear transition between outside and inside.
03:43We designed a large storage cabinet made from sink on the wall to store most of our shoes.
03:50It is mounted above the floor, leaving space below for the shoes we wear often and for the bin.
03:59There is a custom-made steel shelf where we usually keep keys, cards and small personal objects like perfumes.
04:10We like to collect postcards, graphic design prints and photos on the closed hallway side of the shelf using magnets
04:19to stick them here.
04:24The custom shelf wraps around the wall to the living room where we place our favorite books and some decorative
04:31pieces.
04:34We wanted the furniture pieces to feel light in the room.
04:40I designed the couch myself.
04:43We found this leather at a wholesale market in Seoul that I usually go to for material.
04:50We wanted it to feel generous and relaxed and used thin legs so it doesn't visually look heavy in the
04:58space.
05:00My wife works from home and spends most of the day on the desk.
05:06I preferred glass and my wife by color.
05:10In the end, we designed this custom table made from red oak wood, a high-pressure laminate material and glass.
05:18The rounded glass table on the end is an additional space to dine or work from.
05:25As it lets light through, it doesn't add any bark to the space.
05:32The previous owner used the balcony space for storage, but we designed it to be an extension of the living
05:39room.
05:40The windows face the driveway, so we installed a blue shirt curtain to still allow light to pad through, giving
05:49the apartment a blue glow.
05:54I designed the custom planter box to fit along the length of the windowsill made of sink.
06:00In spring and summer, we like to go to the market and see what season plants we can find.
06:11The kitchen is one of the key spaces in this home, connecting the living, dining and sleeping areas.
06:21It is a custom-made kitchen with a stainless steel top, which also becomes the splash bed.
06:29It integrates a lot of drawer storage, so we can keep this area free of clutter.
06:36The long kitchen extends into a shelf that aligns with the window frame.
06:42It is a large surface that we use to decorate with flowers and lamps.
06:49Underneath the connecting shelf is the ceramic bar table.
06:52The slight difference in height creates a balanced composition and we use the space underneath to store small kitchen items.
07:03Things like coffee beans and tea.
07:08The dining area doubles as a working space when we are both working from home.
07:15We have a table with red accents alongside the red heart-shaped lamp, bossed by Ingo Marble.
07:23These elements add a strong accent color to the otherwise neutral tone space.
07:32We integrated a narrow steel shelf to display glasses and to bring some plants into this space.
07:41Lighting around the apartment, especially in the dining area, is important as one of the darkest areas in this apartment.
07:51I have designed many lamps in my past work.
07:54One of these is the real lamp, made from electrical wire.
07:59The loose wire forms a structural outer layer that gently diffuses the light.
08:10The battery sits at the end of the apartment and is the only room that can be separated by a
08:16door for privacy.
08:19We often keep this lighting door open to allow light to pass through.
08:25This cabinet is used to store cleaning items, books and other everyday objects.
08:30As well as bedding and seasonal clothing.
08:35Inside, we also designed a small section that works as a vanity and reading desk which my partner uses occasionally.
08:45The wardrobe facing the bed is an IKEA sliding cabinet with integrated lighting, mainly used for larger clothes like jackets.
08:55There is a small space extending from the bedroom which used to be another balcony but has also been fully
09:02enclosed.
09:03We use this area to dry our laundry and we have extra storage here for clothes.
09:10A small laundry room can be accessed from the balcony area with a washer and dryer.
09:17We keep some bulky items like suitcases in here too.
09:23The bathroom is accessed via the hallway.
09:27We kept the original toilet and put in a new sink, mirror, cabinet and light.
09:33We don't like to have too much clutter in the bathroom and wanted to keep the space minimal and clean.
09:42In Seoul, buying a home is difficult so many people rent instead.
09:48With the current economy, getting a loan to invest in a larger home is even harder.
09:54So the focus has shifted to improving existing homes.
10:00For me, whether space is small or large, what matters most is who lives in it.
10:07A space becomes meaningful when people bring their own way of living into it.
10:11A space becomes meaningful when people bring their own way of living into it.
