A tanker lorry driver on Tuesday (Aug 18) pleaded not guilty at the Temerloh Magistrate's Court to two counts of reckless driving that caused the deaths of a mother and her son at KM9 of Jalan Temerloh-Triang last Friday (Aug 14).

00:01A tanker lorry driver pleaded not guilty at the Temelo Magistrate's Court on Tuesday to two charges of dangerous driving
00:09that resulted in the deaths of two people in a crash along Jalan Temelo Triang last Friday.
00:16Thirty-seven-year-old Norazlan Mahayuddin entered the plea after both charges were read before Magistrate Anis Adlina Abu Johan.
00:26He was charged with driving a tanker bearing registration number NDV 5804, dangerously at kilometre 9 of Jalan Temelo Triang,
00:36at about 4pm on August 14.
00:39The first charge relates to the death of Nur Fatima Shuhada Abdullah, while the second involves the death of Muhammad
00:47Fatah Aish Naufal Saiful Nizam.
00:50Both charges were framed under section 41, subsection 1 of the Road Transport Act 1987.
00:58If convicted, Norazlan faces between 5 and 10 years in prison and a fine of between 20,000 ringgit and
01:0650,000 ringgit for each charge.
01:09The court granted him bail of 10,000 ringgit or 5,000 ringgit for each charge.
01:16The court also fixed October 1st for mention of the case.
