00:02A lorry driver pleaded not guilty at the Sikh Magistrates Court on Monday to a charge of
00:07driving under the influence of drugs, resulting in the death of a five-month-old baby boy

00:1343-year-old Mohammed Amiruddin Mohammed Radzi entered the plea after the charge was read
00:19before Sessions Court Judge Rohaida Ishaq.
00:23According to the charge, the accused allegedly drove a lorry while under the influence of
00:29drugs, causing a road accident that claimed the life of the infant who was a passenger
00:34in a car.
00:36The offence allegedly took place near the Kampung Sadek Junction along Jalanbaru Kulimbalingerik
00:42in Baling at around 10.30pm last Thursday.
00:46He was charged under section 44, subsection 1, paragraph A of the Road Transport Act 1987,
00:54which carries a maximum jail term of 15 years and a fine of up to RM100,000 upon conviction.
01:03The court granted bail of RM8,000 with two sureties on the condition that one of the sureties must
