00:00Ala Maritime Resources Group Managing Director and CEO, Asmi Ahmad, has been remanded by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission to
00:08facilitate an investigation.
00:10In a Bursa Malaysia filing, the offshore marine services provider stressed that the remand did not amount to a finding
00:17of wrongdoing.
00:18The company said its board had taken steps to ensure continuity of operations and would announce any material developments.
00:26Asmi has served as Ala Maritime's Group Managing Director and CEO since May 2006.
00:33The company also has long-standing business ties with Tabung Haji, including a 2009 joint venture involving offshore marine support
00:41vessels.
00:41The Tabung Haji Royal Commission of Inquiry listed Ala Maritime and TH Marine among 14 troubled investments in its report.
00:49The RCI said RM278 million linked to those investments was subsequently impaired.
