00:00Time to check in with Rochelle for tonight's weather forecast.
00:04Thanks, Bash. Good evening, Trinidad and Tobago. I don't know about you guys,
00:08but I've been waiting all week to finally say it's Friday. Now let's get to it. We're starting
00:15things off with what's happening. The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service has issued an
00:21adverse weather alert yellow level for Trinidad and Tobago, effective from midnight tonight
00:26through 5 p.m. on Saturday. This, as the passage of a tropical wave is expected to bring isolated
00:34heavy showers and thunderstorms. While widespread heavy rainfall is not expected, some areas could
00:41experience intense rainfall and wind gusts near 50 kilometers per hour, which may cause falling
00:47trees, displace loose items, choppy seas, street of flash flooding, and localized ponding. So that
00:54means tonight we can look out for very cloudy and breezy conditions with showers that can become
01:00heavy with minimum temperatures at 25 degrees in both islands. Now with an adverse weather alert in
01:07effect until 5 p.m. tomorrow, expect cloudy skies, occasional periods of rain, and the medium to high
01:14chance of a few heavy showers or thunderstorms. Gradual settling is expected during the late afternoon,
01:20an early evening period, despite lingering showers. So Terrence, my fellow colleague,
01:27cancel that hike you have planned for tomorrow. Daytime temperatures will reach up to 29 degrees
01:32in both islands. And the next couple of days will give their fair share of rain as well,
01:38with very cloudy and breezy conditions, along with scattered showers favoring the morning period on
01:43Sunday. Some areas are likely to get some thunderstorm activity. And on Monday, we will get some sunshine,
01:51but it will be interrupted at times by showers. There are sun times now. In Trinidad, sunrises at 5.56
01:58and 5.52 in Tobago, and sunset at 6.24 in Trinidad and 6.22 in Tobago. Now I don't
02:04advise indulging in
02:06any water activities when there's adverse weather alert in effect. But if you must, seas will be moderate
02:12with waves, 2 meters to 2.5 meters in open waters, and 1 meter to 1.5 meters chopping air
02:18showers
02:19in sheltered areas. All marine interests should exercise caution. It's now time for your Thai times.
02:33Well, that's all for weather tonight. As always, have a safe, fun, and blessed weekend.
02:38Sachin, what can we look forward to this weekend in the world of sports?
