ICELANDIC HORSES GO HEAD-TO-HEAD IN DRAMATIC BATTLE
WITH PIX AND VID
BY SHUK YEE TSANG
Two Icelandic horses appear to go head-to-head in a dramatic clash of hooves and teeth in a series of striking images captured in Iceland.
Canadian amateur wildlife photographer John House, 65, captured the unusual encounter in Blönduós, Iceland, as the powerful horses appeared to rear up and jostle with each other.
The footage and photographs show the horses facing off at close range, with their heads raised and mouths open as they appear to challenge one another.
In other images, the Icelandic horses can be seen calmly grooming and scratching each other, showing a much more peaceful side to their social behaviour.
Despite their relatively small stature, they are strong, hardy animals that have been bred in Iceland for centuries.
