00:00So every single day, you wake up and you exist in fear.
00:04You're scared that you're never going to go home.
00:06Because of the unsanitary conditions, we would be sick all the time.
00:12It usually happens at around like your six to eight week mark.
00:17Is where traditionally a girl gets a visit from their parents.
00:22What actually set my parents' alarm bells off, ironically, is that I didn't say anything.
00:28I was like, I love this place.
00:31And they're like, they're like, okay, something's seriously wrong here.
00:35She's not complaining.
00:36However, it took them three weeks to actually pull me out.
00:40I was then enrolled into a different facility in Massachusetts.
00:45I ended up getting by one of the guys there that was actually my best friend.
00:50And then I went home after and I didn't talk for like days because I was so traumatized.
00:56And after I got acclimated to a new school, I was finally able to be a normal teenager.
01:02Everything just kind of, you know, worked itself out.
01:04It was just something that I eventually grew up and started just doing less and less and less.
01:09The eating didn't really stop until like last year.
01:13I had a great time.
01:14Made a lot of friends.
01:15Found my boyfriend.
01:16We've been together for almost three and a half years.
01:19He's awesome.
01:20I got my degree in creative writing.
01:22A lot of my peers who have gone to these facilities haven't really made it out as lucky as I
01:30have.
