00:00Network Rail is closing lines between Bidston and Wrexham General from 16 August,
00:05with some Shrewsbury services suspended.
00:07The railway reopens on 31 August.
00:11Near Gobowan, engineers will replace an ageing siphon
00:15and install a solar-powered trash screen on the Wales and Borders route,
00:18clearing branches, weeds and litter to protect drainage.
00:23Network Rail is also renewing a kilometre of drainage pipe at Babinswood,
00:27repairing Harden Swingbridge and upgrading tracks and level crossings across the route.
00:33Millington adds the upgrades will boost safety, improve reliability for years
00:38and asks passengers to check schedules and plan journeys while the line reopens on 31 August.
