00:01I can't cook!
00:08I can't cook!
00:11I can't cook!
00:31Hello! Lovely to see you!
00:33I'm just getting ready for today's recipe.
00:35It's going to be so tasty and I can't wait.
00:40Come in!
00:42Hello, Katie!
00:44Hey, Leah!
00:45Hello, Katie!
00:46Hi, Gabby! Hi, everyone!
00:48Come in, come in!
00:50Now, do you want to know what delicious recipe we're going to cook today?
00:53Yes!
00:55Well, today's mouth-watering recipe is going to be...
01:00Baked spaghetti!
01:01Now, doesn't that look really tasty?
01:03Yes!
01:06Now, we're just about ready to make a start, but there's one thing that we need to do first.
01:11Do you know what it is?
01:12Wash your hands!
01:17Roll up your sleeves, give your hands a wash with slippy-dippy soap, spish-blash-blosh.
01:24Cooking is fun, but it can be mucky, so put your apron on to stop your clothes getting yucky.
01:30Have you done your hands?
01:32Washed and dry?
01:33Sleeds rolled up?
01:34Yes!
01:35Apron tied?
01:36Let's take a look in the cookery book, what can you do?
01:40I can cook!
01:42Let's get cooking!
01:44Yes!
01:47To make our baked spaghetti, we need to start by giving a spring onion a haircut.
01:53So, can you see his hair growing on top of his head?
01:55Yes!
01:57We need to snip that with a clean pair of scissors.
01:59And remember, when using scissors, everybody knows that it's always best to point them at your...
02:05Toes!
02:07Toes!
02:07At your toes!
02:08So, snip off his wiggly hair at the top onto the plate.
02:12Oh!
02:13Mine went jumpy.
02:15That's it.
02:17And now we're going to snip off his wiggly legs.
02:22I got his hair off.
02:25Good!
02:27Gabby, that's brilliant!
02:28You've done it perfectly!
02:30Oh, God!
02:31It's wiggly legs!
02:34Now, we don't want to eat these bits, so we'll put them over there.
02:38And now we need to chop up the bit that's left.
02:40So, take your scissors again, and remember to point towards your toes.
02:45Yeah!
02:46Can you snip them like me?
02:48Toes!
02:49That's it!
02:50That's how you want to do it.
02:52I love it!
02:53I love it!
02:54That's it!
02:55Amazing!
03:01I've got nine pieces I have.
03:05That's really good.
03:06You've got more than me.
03:08Now we need to put our spring onion into a dish that can go in the oven, like this.
03:14So, sprinkling your spring onion, everyone.
03:16Look, it's raining spring onions.
03:19Hold on.
03:20I've done it.
03:21I've done it.
03:21So, now we're going to tear up some sun-dried tomatoes.
03:25Now, why do you think sun-dried tomatoes are wrinkly?
03:28Because I'm beating the really, really, really hot sun, and then after they got really hot, and then they got
03:35all wrinkly.
03:35That's right!
03:36They have been in the sun.
03:37Now we need to rip the sun-dried tomatoes up and put them into our dish with the spring onions.
03:44You have to pull very, very hard.
03:47It's like ripping paper.
03:49Ripping paper is easier.
03:50Easier.
03:56You could use your scissors, but remember to point them at your toes.
04:00Like this.
04:08We know.
04:12It's really sticky.
04:14Who's got sticky fingers?
04:15Me!
04:17I've got sticky fingers.
04:21Next, you need to add some Coles-cooked bacon that I cooked for you earlier until it was yummy and
04:26crispy.
04:27And we're going to crunch it into our dish.
04:31Ready?
04:31So hold it above and we're going to crunch together with both our hands.
04:34Ready?
04:35One.
04:36Two.
04:37Three.
04:38Crunch!
04:47Now we're going to tear some black olives and put them into our dish.
04:50So take your olives and tear them with your fingertips.
04:56Oh, and my fingers get all squelchy.
05:01I squished them.
05:06Nia, what colours have you got in your dish?
05:08I've got black, green and red.
05:14And red.
05:15Is green your favourite colour?
05:16Yeah.
05:17Oh, it's my favourite colour as well.
05:23Now what do you think we're going to need next in our recipe?
05:26Let's put you to the test.
05:28Today's ingredient for you to guess.
05:30What do you think it's going to be?
05:36Now let me give you some clues.
05:39The missing ingredient for our baked spaghetti is very long and thin.
05:43So, could it be a giant pencil?
05:51No.
05:52You can't eat a giant pencil.
05:55Let's try again.
05:57The missing ingredient looks a bit like something you can tie things up with.
06:02So, could it be a ball of string?
06:07No.
06:08You can't eat a ball of string, can you?
06:11Now let's try one more time, shall we?
06:14It's long and thin.
06:15It looks a little bit like string.
06:17And one more clue.
06:19It's very famous in Italy.
06:22So, could it be spaghetti?
06:27The missing ingredient is spaghetti.
06:29We're going to need some of this in our baked spaghetti.
06:32Now let's go and find out more on our computer.
06:35Come on.
06:41To make spaghetti, you need four ingredients.
06:45Flour, eggs, salt and olive oil.
06:52First of all, a chef cracks the eggs and whisks them up to make them nice and creamy.
07:00Then, he adds them to the flour with some salt and a little bit of olive oil.
07:12He mixes it all together to make a dough.
07:17And squeezes the dough with his hands to make it nice and springy.
07:23The chef sprinkles some flour on the table and squeezes the dough around a little bit more.
07:29This is called kneading.
07:31He then covers the dough up and puts it in the fridge to rest for a while.
07:37When it's ready, the chef takes the dough and splits it into smaller pieces.
07:42He then rolls it through a special pasta machine and each time it goes through, the pasta gets thinner and
07:50thinner.
07:52When the pasta dough is finally thin enough, he rolls it through a special spaghetti cutter to cut it into
07:58spaghetti.
08:00Finally, the chef hangs up the spaghetti to dry so he can cook it later on.
08:08And we're going to use dried spaghetti in our dish.
08:11And we're going to do some snapping.
08:13So who wants to do snapping?
08:15Me!
08:16You can pretend to snap at home if you want.
08:18So we're going to hold it in both hands like we're riding a bicycle.
08:23And then we're going to snap.
08:24We're going to count to three.
08:25Ready?
08:26One.
08:27Two.
08:28Three.
08:29Snap!
08:30Woo!
08:32Where did he snap?
08:33Mom went flying.
08:35My too.
08:37I love snapping.
08:39It's really fun.
08:40Now we can snap it into loads of bits and put it into our dish.
08:45But make sure it all fits.
08:49Mom jumped in.
08:52Dad, you can snap it even more, Thomas.
09:00It's really fun.
09:01My spaghetti has gone everywhere.
09:09James, what noise does it make when you snap the spaghetti?
09:19Next, we're going to add some water into our dish.
09:24It's like a waterfall.
09:27And there's a small of it.
09:32Mom is flying too.
09:35And then we're going to add some chopped tin tomatoes like this.
09:41So pour that in.
09:43This one's all gloopy.
09:45Bye too.
09:47Hello, Peppy.
09:49Mom's done.
09:52And now it's time to get our pinchy fingers out.
09:54Can you get your pinchy fingers out like this?
10:00And we're going to take a pinch of stock powder.
10:04This is going to add lots of yummy flavour to our dish.
10:08So sprinkle on the stock powder.
10:12So next, we need to take a pinch of this and it's called paprika.
10:16And it's a red powder that's going to make our dish really yummy.
10:21Only a little pinch.
10:23That's right.
10:24Only a little pinch because it's very strong, isn't it?
10:27Yes.
10:27Only a little bit.
10:29Only one little bit of it.
10:31There we go.
10:33And now we're going to give it a turn over.
10:36Because that's all it needs.
10:41What? Turn it over.
10:47Last of all, put on your lid.
10:53And now it's time to put our baked spaghetti in an oven for 25 minutes.
10:57But remember, with ovens beware because it's hot in there.
11:01So get an adult to help you.
11:03Come on, everyone.
11:08Thank you very much.
11:16Whilst our baked spaghetti's cooking, it's time to...
11:19Tidy up.
11:23It's always good to put away so we can use things another day.
11:26So now it's time to remember what we've made today.
11:33Cut the spring onions top and tail, top and tail, top and tail.
11:39Crunch a piece of bacon, crunch, crunch, crunch, crunch, crunch, crunch.
11:43Crunch, crunch, crunch, crunch.
11:45Cut the tomatoes.
11:47Snip, snip, snip.
11:48Snip, snip, snip.
11:49Snip, snip, snip.
11:51Do the same with the olives.
11:52Snip, snip, snip. Snip, snip, snip. Snip, snip, snip.
11:57Snap the spaghetti. Snap, snap, snap. Snap, snap, snap.
12:02Hear it crack, then mix it all together. Whiz, whiz, whiz.
12:06Whiz, whiz, whiz. Whiz, whiz, whiz.
12:09Pour it on the pasta. Sprinkle on the cheese.
12:12Sprinkle just like this.
12:18I can't cook. Our baked spaghetti has cooked. And while they cool down...
12:23Let's make the cake ball.
12:32Look everyone, our baked spaghetti's cooled down and it's ready to eat.
12:36The waiting is over. Enough of this talk. Let's taste what we've made with a spoon and a fork.
12:42And if you want, you can add some cheese as well.
12:45I want to get them some cheese so it looks all yummy.
12:50James, what do you think of yours?
12:52Nice.
12:54Amelia, what's your favourite part?
12:57My favourite bit is the bacon.
12:59My favourite bit is the bacon too.
13:04Our baked spaghetti is delicious. We did it!
13:07We can cook!
13:09That's it for now. I can't wait to see you all again soon.
13:13And just remember that you can cook too.
13:17Yay!
13:20Mmm, so yummy.
13:25Mia, which bit do you like?
13:27The cheese is my favourite part.
13:29Mmm.
13:30I like the bacon.
13:31I like the bacon too.
13:35If you want to make today's recipe, then go to bbc.co.uk forward slash CBeebies.
13:41Give me a hug.
13:42I like the baby babies.
13:43Yeah.
13:44There is one of my favorite babies.
13:44And see, it is so much fun.
13:45And I can still see a little bit of a little bit.
13:45If you want to come into that, what is the other baby babies?
