02:17We are going to make funky beet muffins today and our friends at the hospital are going to love these.

02:36Roll up your sleeves, give your hands a wash with slippy-dippy soap, splish-flash-flosh.

02:57Now, the first thing we're going to do, team, to make our funky beetroot muffins is crack an egg.

03:14So, grab your egg and we're going to open it up and I'll show you how.

03:35Next, everyone, we're going to add the lovely juicy orange juice.

04:25That's right, it's beetroot.
04:27And do you know if beetroot grows above the ground or below the ground?

04:33It grows below the ground, that's right, because it's a root vegetable.
04:36And it's going to give our muffins such an amazing red colour.
04:40Okay, now, you can use fresh beetroot, but today we're going to use cooked beetroot.
04:44And we're going to grate it in pairs, okay?
04:47So, one person, pop your beetroot into the top of your grater like this.
04:51And then one person, push down on the top like that.
04:55And the other person, turn the handle.
04:57Out it comes!

05:00Look at it coming out of the grater!

05:05And if any of the beetroot gets stuck, just use your fork to scrape it out like this.
05:10And once you've done your beetroot, just pop it in your wet bowl.
05:17And now it's time to give everything a really good mix.

05:26Okay everyone, stop mixing and pop your wet bowl to one side.
05:31Next, we're going to take a bowl of flour.
05:34And to this bowl of flour, we're going to add something called baking powder.
05:37Now, who wants to know a secret?

05:46Baking powder is magic!
05:48It is!
05:49Because, when you put baking powder in a recipe, it magically makes everything rise up.

06:08All right everyone, let's add a teaspoon of baking powder to our flour.
06:13Take a teaspoon, and then just sprinkle it into your bowl.

06:20Next, we're going to add some lovely seeds.

06:28Come on everyone, let's sprinkle them in too.

06:32And then finally, we're going to add something called a mixed spice.
06:36A mixed spice has got a really lovely smell.

06:51Now, we're not going to add all of this, we're only going to add a teaspoon.
06:54So, grab your teaspoons, load it up, and then pop it into your bowl.

07:02And because all the ingredients in this bowl are dry,
07:04we're going to call it our dry bowl.
07:06And the next thing we're going to do is add the wet bowl to our dry bowl.
07:10And this is my very, very, very favourite part.
07:13So, grab your wet bowl, and after three,
07:16we're going to put it into the bowl with a big splosh.

07:26Oh, I've got some beetroot left over in mine,
07:28so just use a spoon to scrape it out.
07:30And then, we're going to give everything a really, really good mix.

09:49Let's make some foil fruit decorations.
09:52And to do that, we will need some kitchen foil, yellow tissue paper, some gloopy glue, some sticky tape, a pen and a paintbrush, a glue stick, some googly eyes and a small piece of ribbon.
10:06Now, the first thing we're going to do is take some foil.

10:12And then open it up onto the table.

10:20Now, we're going to take a piece of ribbon and we're going to make a loop and stick it to the top of the foil.

10:40Now, we need to scrunch up the foil into the shape of the fruit that we want to make.

12:54and now for a finishing touch let's add some googly eyes so use your glue stick and put a
13:00little bit of glue on the googly eyes first and then hold your banana like this in one hand
13:06and then stick it onto your banana and we have one very funny looking finished banana
13:17well done everyone there we are we've made a funny foil fruit decoration and there are some other
13:23ideas that you could try too how about this juicy orange made with orange tissue paper and stickers
13:31or how about this tasty apple made with a pipe cleaner stalk and cardboard leaves or you could
13:38try these delicious strawberries with paint blobs for seeds and leaves made of felt
13:43oh wow these muffins look amazing i better tell everyone but they're ready everyone the muffins are
