00:01Hi, everyone. Hello. I'm very happy to be here tonight in support of Tyreek Withers,
00:13who Variety has just deemed our new leading man. Yeah. And I first heard Tyreek's name
00:25in the summer of 2024. My friend Sam Lansky was a writer and producer on the reboot of I Know
00:34What You Did last summer. And he was deep in the casting process. And I was at dinner with him.
00:40And I asked him how it was going. And you know, he's watching tapes day in and day out. And
00:46he
00:46said, and I will never forget it. He said, gosh, Kiernan, we just we just watched this tape from
00:53this kid, Tyreek Withers. And he's so good that he's just he's just about to become a star here.
01:01And he's going to become a star. And he was right. Because two and a half years after that conversation,
01:09we're here tonight. And Tyreek has become one of the most interesting actors to emerge in the last
01:17few years. He is so amazing in the movie him. He really is. And I just I think that performance
01:28really shows what kind of actor Tyreek is and is continuing to become who is so audacious and
01:37commanding and just completely unforgettable. I mean, anytime that he shows up on my screen,
01:44I am completely transfixed. And I know I'm not the only one. So you know, from his early work
01:53in Atlanta to his newest lead turn and reminders of him, Tyreek has proven very quickly, and very
02:01compellingly, that he has immense skill, and that he has immense range, and that he is indeed
02:11a leading man. And he's just, you know, he's just getting started. If this is what his career
02:18has blossomed into so far, I can only imagine what it's going to be like in the next decade and
02:23more.
02:24So I really think that the title of this award, new leading man suits him very brilliantly.
