01:11On Wednesday, the acting president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela,
01:15Adelsi Rodriguez, accompanied by the mayor of Caracas, Carmen Melendez, and community representatives,
01:20led the delivery of renovated homes in the Santa Rosalia, Paris, in Caracas. These homes had been
01:26affected by the devastating double earthquake that hit the country on June 24, damaging structures in
01:31Caracas, La Guayra, Miranda, and other states. The national leader reported that 370 people
01:37returned to their homes following the renovation of their homes, and that more than 13,000 homes
01:42are being repaired across the affected state to benefit 66,000 people as part of the Venezuela
01:48Rises Plan. She also noted that 302 people are returning home today following the recent delivery
01:54of 60 apartments in Indiana Victoria Housing Development in La Guayra. At the same time,
01:59Rodriguez highlighted that, to date, 47,369 homes and infrastructure inspections have been conducted.
02:07Of these, 58 percent received a green sticker on the habitability traffic light system, 23 percent
02:13a yellow one, and 19 percent a red one.
02:22To strengthen legal certainty in the rental market, the Venezuelan government approved the new law on the
02:28special regime for residential property rentals. Our colleague, Ronald Leonardo Rieta, gives us the details.
02:35This legal instrument, approved by the Venezuelan parliament, aims to update regulations in the real
02:41estate sector. According to Jesus Ortega, a deputy from the United Socialist Party of Venezuela,
02:49the law will contribute to a win-win between landlords and tenants.
02:54President Delcy Rodriguez raised the need to accelerate this process, and obviously parliament
02:59set about responding to this bill. I believe this legislation, to a significant degree, benefits both
03:04parties, as they would say in my town, 50-50, half and half, because the property owner also provides
03:13guarantees to the tenant. Before, there was a practically excessive contract. You had to pay six
03:20months' rent up front, and you had to have a business entity to be eligible to rent,
03:24plus three security deposits and three months' rent in advance. And all of that has changed under this
03:30new law. But it also allows those who worked hard to buy their home, and who saw it as a
03:34source of
03:35extra income, to know that their property will be protected. The law on the special regime for
03:42residential property leases protects the national real estate market, guarantees the right to housing,
03:46and protects families, providing legal certainty for landlords and tenants. Another aspect is that the
03:53rent amount is an agreement between the landlord and the tenant. The law stands that it shall be a
03:57maximum of three months' rent as a security deposit, and may be paid in bolivarez or foreign currency.
04:03Economic experts believe that bank loans will be essential for these transactions.
04:07Venezuelan public banks today have sufficient capital and assets to handle these transactions with ease.
04:14When a conflict arises due to a breach of contract, it is taken into account that justice of the peace
04:19could be involved and could participate in seeking a negotiated solution, and in the case of eviction
04:26of a renting family, the police do not have the authority to act as they did during the Fourth Republic,
04:30which allowed for various abuses and resulted in families being evicted without regard for their
04:36vulnerability or disability status. Today, under this law, a court must rule before a family or tenant
04:44can be evicted. The double earthquake on June 24 spurred the update to the law to continue guaranteeing the
04:53right to housing. This law is very timely and creates a legal framework for very interesting lease
04:59agreements. First and foremost, it guarantees a quite broad freedom of contract, and the government is
05:05stepping in to regulate a sector while guaranteeing contractual freedom, which is very interesting,
05:10as the tenant and landlord agree on the terms of the contract, and it will be permitted to be done
05:14in foreign currency according to different criteria for terms of no less than one year. And the law also
05:21specifies very clearly that the tenant may pay in bolivarez, always at the BCV exchange rate.
05:26With the 27 articles of this legal instrument, the Venezuelan government aims to stimulate the rental
05:31market, as reported by Gustavo Flores, Leonardo Urieta, Telesur, Caracas, Venezuela.
05:37The Venezuelan acting president, Elsie Rodriguez, met with engineers, companies, Millamot International,
05:43and TFI Solution to strengthen sustainable urban development. The meeting was held with the goal of
05:50strengthening the country's structural resilience and coordinating advanced urban reconstruction plans.
05:55Representatives from prestigious international systems and technology engineering companies
06:01attended the meeting, including Dr. Hideki Kit Miyamoto, founder and CEO of Miyamoto International,
06:08and Noah Scorchet, CEO of TFI Solution. The Venezuelan government reaffirmed its commitment to
06:15optimize industrial structural capabilities to guarantee the safety of the Venezuelan people.
06:27And in Venezuela, more than 640 communities in a wider state are currently receiving regular
06:32supplies of household gas as part of the comprehensive recovery efforts underway in the
06:37in this coastal state. Our correspondent Luis Tavera has more details.
06:43Is the logistical deployment driving the state's operational recovery? Trucks,
06:47staff, and filling stations operating at full capacity, ready to ensure a constant supply of
06:53household gas in every sector. To provide comprehensive assistance to the areas affected by the
07:01earthquake on June 24, a technical team of more than 140 professionals and engineers began operations
07:07in record time. The technical assessment includes the safe removal of 49 stationary tanks and effective
07:13coverage in 649 communities through the distribution of more than 133,000 gas cylinders.
07:21My appreciation to all the workers of PDVSA Gas Communal and the Laguara Gas Company, our commitment
07:27to the people of Laguara, to continue ensuring that this service is of the highest quality so that we
07:31can guarantee comprehensive care for our people. Added to this is the comprehensive provision of public
07:36services. Today, 99% of basic services have been restored. This comprehensive effort is further
07:44strengthened by the launch of a modern facility that will directly benefit the communities.
07:58To ensure full coverage without intermediaries, these units will be deployed on a mobile basis
08:03throughout Laguara, optimizing response times.
08:11As you can see here, this is a mobile truck called a mobile plant, which has five types of gas
08:16filling systems.
08:21It's mobile because it can be transported anywhere in our state together with a gas tanker that we have
08:25there. We go and fill the tanks on site. For example, if we're working in the Karuao Parish,
08:31we collect all the empty gas cylinders with small trucks, and with these units from Caracas,
08:36we can refill them quickly and efficiently.
08:41Behind every number and every cylinder delivered, the face of deep commitment pulse.
08:47Despite everything we're going through, we're continuing to serve our communities,
08:51knowing that this is an essential service and that families, especially those most in need,
08:55should not be without it. With the vehicles ready and on the road,
09:00the distribution route sets off toward its first destination, a community. There,
09:04the neighborhood organization and teamwork are clearly evident. Rosabel Rodriguez,
09:09representing her community, receives the gas cylinders and checks to make sure everything is in order.
09:20This area was slightly affected, but we've had gas service since day two. Gas is delivered every 10
09:26to 15 days. We can't say there's a shortage of electricity. Well, despite the problems we've faced,
09:32a double earthquake look, the electricity and water services have been working.
09:40Every route completed and every home served confirmed that unity and the will to work are
09:44invincible. Thanks to the tireless efforts of its people and the government focused on the streets,

09:59The United Nations Development Programme described the Venezuelan government's response on Wednesday
10:05as timely and appropriate following the earthquakes on June 24 that caused numerous losses of life and
10:11severe property damage. The agency has forged a partnership with the Bolivarian nation and has
10:16activated a key tool that very few countries possess, according to Luis Francisco Taiz, the agency's
10:23president representative in Caracas. It is a data system capable of assessing damage in hours rather
10:29than weeks. According to the agency, in the first hours of the tragedy, the greatest challenge was not
10:34a lack of resources but the absence of reliable information. The government of Venezuela throughout

11:40has reached unprecedented levels. Civil rights organizations describe it as a human hunt
11:45that violates all rights and guarantees. June set a record for the highest number of deportation
11:51orders since official records began in a new tightening of immigration policies driven by
11:56President Donald Trump. According to data published by the Syracuse University Transactional
12:02Records Access Center, immigration judges issued nearly 79,000 deportation orders in June,
12:08an increase of more than 20,000 cases compared to the previous month and the highest level since the
12:14database began in 1998. The increase, they say, coincides with the White House's strategy to accelerate
12:21the deportation of immigrants.
12:42Authorities in eastern China have evacuated more than 10,000 residents from several islands in Xi'an Province,
12:48as Typhoon Dolphin moves toward the East China Sea. According to the National Meteorological Center,
12:54Dolphin was located about 1,360 kilometers east of the coastal city of Huenshu early Thursday,
13:01packing maximum sustained winds of 42 meters per second. Forecasters expect the powerful typhoon to
13:08continue moving west at around 15 to 20 kilometers per hour while maintaining or slightly increasing its
13:15strength. The system is forecast to cross the Ryukyu Islands on Friday before entering the East China Sea
13:22and gradually approaching China's eastern coast. Officials are continuing to monitor its track as
13:27preparations remain underway. In Japan, Hiroshima marked the 81st anniversary of the atomic bombing on Thursday,
13:45with its annual peace ceremony, as people across the country paused to remember the victims. The city
13:51observed the moment of silence at 8.15 a.m., the exact time the United States dropped the atomic bomb
13:58in 1945.
13:59The explosion and its radiation destroyed much of Hiroshima killing an estimated 140,000 people by the end
14:08of that year, while many survivors later developed illnesses linked to the radiation exposure. Officials and
14:15some representatives from a record 121 countries and regions attended the ceremony. Hiroshima's mayor renewed
14:22his call for the abolition of nuclear weapons, while Prime Minister Sanae Takeishi affirmed Japan's commitment to
14:28the three non-nuclear principles and the pursuit of a world free of nuclear weapons despite growing global
14:35security challenges. This morning marks 81 years since the atomic bombing. As Prime Minister of Japan,
14:52I solemnly offer my heartfelt condolences to the souls of those who fell victim to the atomic bomb here in
14:57Hiroshima. I also extend my deepest sympathies to all those who still suffer from the after effects of the
15:03bombing. The devastation wrought by the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki and the unspeakable
15:17suffering endured by so many must never be repeated. Our nation firmly upholds the three
15:25non-nuclear principles and, as the world's only country to have suffered atomic bombings in war,
15:30bears the mission of tirelessly continuing efforts toward the realization of a world without nuclear weapons.
15:51And the 13th edition of the South African International Ballet Competition is taking place from August 4th to the 6th

15:58Artscape in Cape Town, bringing together young dancers from South Africa and around the world.
16:04The prestigious event features competitors across three age categories, scholar, junior and senior,
16:10as well as dedicated choreographic division. An international panel of judges from countries
16:15including South Korea, the United States, Romania, Germany, Belarus, the United Kingdom, Austria,

16:47And I told my parents that, wow, my brother's speaking English so I'd like to go to a school that's
16:52like that. My dad sacrificed something so he could get me there and I saw other kids do ballet at
16:57the nursery school. So that's what got me into ballet and I just fell in love with it.
17:02I was just so inspired by Michaela de Prince actually because she was from Africa and she got adopted and
17:09I just love the whole process of working hard on something and putting so much energy and effort into something
17:15and reaping all the rewards that I came with.
17:19Is that we are achieving the goal of training better dancers, more dancers, better integrated dancers. Our group of dancers
17:30of color has improved and developed so much that we can now proudly call it a truly South African competition.
17:40So much so that last year we became a member of the International Federation for Ballet Competition.
17:49And on Thursday, Pope Leo XIV was greeted by thousands of young people before celebrating Mass in Italian city of
17:56Assisi, which this year is commemorating the 800th anniversary of the death of St. Francis.
18:02Thousands of people from all over Europe who were participating in a youth event in the city in central Italy
18:09welcomed the head of the Catholic Church upon his arrival at the square in front of the cathedral.

19:33the towns of Mansouri, Burj al-Samali, Magdal, Sun, Haniyeh and nearby areas.
19:38The strikes involved air attacks, drones, artillery, shielding and tank fire, leaving several people wounded, according to local reports.
19:46The military operation also included demolitions and continued activity near Kafar Shuba and other border locations.
19:53The escalation came after Israeli authorities issued an evacuation order for residents of Mansouri, instructing them to move at least
20:011,000 meters north of the town.
20:03The latest attacks come as negotiations between Lebanon and Israel continue, despite ongoing military operations along the border.
20:19The Yemeni armed forces announced on Wednesday that they had successfully targeted a Saudi oil tanker in the Northern Red
20:25Sea as part of their ongoing marating blockade against Saudi Arabia.
20:29Ansar Allah, military spokesman, Brigadier General Yahya Sari, said Yemeni forces carried out a precision strike against the Saudi oil
20:38tanker Wafa off the coast of Yambou using several ballistic missiles.
20:43Sari stated that the attack brought to aid the number of Saudi oil tankers targeted by the group since the
20:49marating blockade began on July 22.
20:51He also claimed that 29 Saudi oil tankers have been intercepted or forced to halt their routes and turn back
20:59in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea as a result of Yemeni naval operations.
